With Aerosmith temporarily sidelined as frontman Steven Tyler addresses sobriety issues, guitarist Joe Perry has lined up a trio of shows next month with his side group, The Joe Perry Project, while also announcing plans to release a new solo album this year.

The concerts are scheduled for July 21 in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire; July 22 in Boston; and July 23 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The Boston show will feature Perry and his group opening for ZZ Top. Tickets for the July 21 and July 23 concerts will go on sale this Friday, June 17.

Perry’s band for these performances will include Extreme frontman Gary Cherone and original Joe Perry Project drummer Joe Pet, as well as keyboardist Buck Johnson and bassist Chris Wyse. Johnson and Wyse have previously played with Perry in the Hollywood Vampires.

The guitar legend says that his set lists at the shows “will have a couple of new songs, a couple of my other solo songs, and a couple of Aerosmith songs that Aerosmith usually doesn’t play, and everything in between.”

As for the upcoming solo album, Perry says it will be titled Sweetzerland Manifesto MKII and will be released on vinyl “later this year.”

P says the new album — a follow-up to 2018’s Sweetzerland Manifesto — will include a song called “Quake” that he recorded with his sons Tony and Roman and that features Cherone on vocals, and a tune titled “Fortunate One” that’s sung by Chris Robinson, of The Black Crowes.

Perry adds that Aerosmith will return to the road this year in celebration of their 50th anniversary. The band’s 2022 itinerary includes a September 4 concert in Bangor, Maine; a September 8 show at Boston’s Fenway Park; and a new Las Vegas residency that kicks off September 14.

Jason Aldean isn’t having much trouble with his latest single.

After claiming the #1 spot on country radio with “Trouble With a Heartbreak” last month, the song has again ascended to the top of the charts, bringing his total to three weeks. This marks the first song in more than a decade to reenter at #1 since Taylor Swift‘s “Mean” accomplished the feat in 2011.

“It’s a really big deal to me to have a three-week No. 1, especially after all these years doing what we do,” Jason says in a statement. “The support of country radio and the fans makes me that much more ready to see all of you back out on the road.”

“Trouble” follows Jason’s previous chart-topper off his new album, Macon, “If I Didn’t Love You” featuring Carrie Underwood

The Georgia native will embark on his Rock N’ Roll Cowboy Tour on July 15, with Gabby Barrett, Tracy Lawrence and more to serve as opening acts.

When Chris Evans was pictured aside his Lightyear alter-ego Buzz Lightyear and other Pixar pals at Disney California Adventure Park, plenty of people on Twitter suspected it was Photoshop at play.

Evans was snapped with his hands in his pockets, and his stiff pose led the Internet to speculate the smiling star wasn’t there at all.

The buzz surrounding the pic led the actor to post to social media, expressing, “I promise I’m not photoshopped into these! I just have a very disciplined pose. (And I don’t know what to do with my hands).”

But in an ironic twist, Evans’ “disciplined pose,” made it easy for Buzzfeed to snip him out of the shot — using Photoshop — allowing Internet users to go nuts and show Evans posing in a growing list of places, like visiting Edinburgh Castle, mugging onstage at Sunday night’s Tony Awards and on the cover of Weezer’s Blue Album.

One user responded to the new viral meme with Evans’ own words as Captain America: “Internet, so helpful.”

Lightyear opens June 17.

Post Malone is a dad! The rapper has welcomed a little girl with his fiancée.

TMZ reports Post guested on Howard Stern‘s show Monday and made an off-handed remark at the end of his interview, where he revealed, “I woke up at 2:30 in the afternoon. I went and I kissed my baby girl and then I went and played some [music].”

Stern’s antenna went off and the radio host asked the nine-time Grammy nominee if he heard correctly. “We didn’t know you had a daughter,” said Stern, to which Post confirmed, “That’s my daughter!”

The singer admitted he likes to keep things about his private life, well, private, adding that those in his inner circle are allowed to make their “own decisions” about when to break major news.

Post also confirmed he proposed to the mother of his child, addressing her as his “fiancée,” but declined to reveal her name or how long they’ve been together. The singer did not reveal when he intends to tie the knot.

He also declined to reveal the name of his child or when they welcomed her into the world.

The rapper only revealed in May that he had a little one on the way. In early June, he told Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe he is “pumped beyond belief” to become a dad.

“I’m going to be a hot dad,” he also declared, later revealing he’s wanted to be a father since he was a kid.

The Rolling Stones famously sang “you can’t always get what you want,” but sometimes you get what you don’t want. The British rock legends have announced that they’ve had to postpone their concert Monday night in Amsterdam because frontman Mick Jagger has tested positive for COVID-19.

A message posted on the band’s social media pages reports that the show, which was scheduled to take place at Amsterdam’s Johan Cruijff [crowf] Arena, was called off when Jagger tested positive for the virus “after experiencing symptoms of COVID upon arrival at the stadium.”

The note adds, “The Rolling Stones are deeply sorry for tonight’s postponement, but the safety of the audience, fellow musicians and the touring crew has to take priority. The show will be rescheduled for a later date. Tickets for tonight’s show will be honored for the reschedule date. [Stand by] for details.”

The 78-year-old Stones singer, meanwhile, posted a note of his own on his social media sites that reads, “I’m so sorry that we’ve had to postpone the Amsterdam show with such short notice tonight. I have unfortunately just tested positive for COVID. We aim to reschedule the date ASAP and get back as soon as we can. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.”

Guitarist Keith Richards also assured the band’s fans in Amsterdam in a Facebook post, “We’ll be back. Stay tuned.”

The next date on The Stones’ current SIXTY tour is scheduled for this Friday, June 17, in Bern, Switzerland. It’s not clear if Jagger’s illness will affect that concert.

(NEW YORK) — At least 10 mass shootings occurred across the country between Friday and Sunday night, making this the fourth consecutive weekend in which U.S. law enforcement officers have responded to multiple incidents, each involving four or more victims shot.

Shootings this weekend have left at least 10 people dead and 42 injured in 10 cities, according to the Gun Violence Archive, a site that tracks shootings across the country. The website defines a mass shooting as a single incident involving four or more victims, which differs from the FBI’s definition as a single incident in which four or more people, not including the suspect, are killed.

The string of consecutive weekend mass casualty incidents began over the Memorial Day holiday, when at least 17 shootings left a total of 13 dead and 79 injured in cities across the country, including Philadelphia, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Memphis and Chattanooga, Tennessee. Last weekend, at least 11 mass-casualty shootings erupted, leaving a total of 17 dead and 62 injured across the nation.

Since the May 14 suspected racially motivated attack at a Buffalo, New York, supermarket left 10 Black people dead and 18-year-old white teenager charged with multiple counts of murder, there have been at least 68 mass shootings nationwide, including the May 24 shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, in which 19 students and two teachers were killed, according to the Gun Violence Archive.

Adding to the carnage, were mass-casualty shootings this weekend in Los Angeles, Denver, New Orleans, Detroit, Louisville, Kentucky; Decatur, Georgia; South Fulton, Georgia, Antioch, Tennessee; Gary, Indiana; and for the third straight weekend in Chicago.

The shootings this weekend came as a bipartisan group of U.S. Senators announced Sunday that they have reached agreement on the framework of a plan to curb what Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., described as “the gun violence epidemic that has plagued our country and terrorized our children for far too long.”

BTS is celebrating its ninth anniversary as a band, and Jimin is letting fans know that the septet is undergoing a metamorphosis.

In celebration of their new compilation album Proof, Jimin spoke of the band’s newest song, “Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment),” on Apple’s BTS Radio. “I feel like we’ve done a great job getting where we are now, and I think our new song marks a comma, not a period in our career,” he said. “I want its message to our fans to be that we are going to return with a more mature version of ourselves.”

The new track contains the lyrics, “This is only the beginning, the best yet to come.” Jimin’s comments were recorded by Billboard.

In other BTS news, J-Hope spoke to WeVerse Magazine about how dire conditions were for the band when they were getting ready to perform at this year’s Grammy Awards. J-Hope had tested positive for COVID-19 with just days to go before their big show and he recalled, “After testing positive for COVID-19, it was only going to be possible to have exactly one day before the performance.”

While J-Hope was in “the mindset” to perform, he admits of his other bandmates, “The other members were on the brink of mental exhaustion at that point, to be honest.”

“Jin had injured his hand and practicing was a challenge, but I knew there was no way I couldn’t be there, so while practicing I kept telling myself I have to do this no matter what, went over on the plane, rehearsed on location, and somehow got it all together,” he continued. “It was a lot of pressure, psychologically speaking.”

Maren Morris is back in her element on tour.

Since launching the Humble Quest Tour on Thursday, Maren has been keeping a diary of sorts on social media, reflecting each night after the show on Instagram. After completing the first weekend of the tour in Portsmouth, VA, Maren got honest with fans about how challenging it was to be off the road for two years due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“I feel guilty saying this, but I haven’t felt this good in 2 and a half years. As much as I have loved at times that ‘forced sabbatical’ of not being able to tour, a very crucial piece of me was missing all this time. I got it back this weekend,” the singer shared alongside a gallery of photos that show her performing in front of a massive crowd and a behind-the-scenes shot carrying her two-year-old son, Hayes. “The best part is we get to do it again and again all year.”

The tour kickoff also included Maren’s husband, Ryan Hurd, joining her for a performance of “I Can’t Love You,” a song they cowrote on her new album Humble Quest, in Asheville.

“I think it’s safe to say we are officially back,” she adds in a caption on a post capturing the first night of shows, which includes a video of her leading a sing-a-long to her hit, “My Church.”

The Humble Quest Tour continues through December, where it wraps at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN on December 2.

(HOUSTON) — A 7-year-old boy was inside his home when he was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting, authorities in Harris County, Texas, said.

Around 10:45 p.m. Sunday, the unknown gunman drove in front of a trailer home and opened fire at it, Harris County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jason Brown said.

Paul Vasquez, who was inside the trailer, was shot in the chest, the sheriff’s office said. He was pronounced dead at a hospital, authorities said.

Paul’s mother and two brothers were home at the time but none of them were hurt, Brown said.

No motive is known and no suspects have been identified, authorities said.

The gunman’s car is believed to be a white or gray four-door sedan, authorities said.

This deadly shooting comes one week after an 11-year-old girl was shot dead in a Detroit home by outside gunfire.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted that he’s “outraged.”

“This is the daily toll of gun violence … Let’s not accept daily gun violence as our norm,” he tweeted. “We can and we must do more.”
