Rise Against has released a new EP called Nowhere Generation II.
The six-track collection follows the Chicago punk outfit’s 2021 album, Nowhere Generation. Rise Against previously teased the EP with the single “Last Man Standing,” which premiered earlier this week.
Along with the EP drop, Rise Against has shared a video for “Last Man Standing.” The Squid Game-esque clip finds a group of people trying to avoid getting killed by bow-and-arrow fire for the amusement of wealthy onlookers.
You can watch the “Last Man Standing” video streaming now on YouTube.
Rise Against is launching a U.S. tour in July. The bill also includes The Used and Senses Fail.
Chris Lane and Lauren Alaina join forces Friday for a revamped duet arrangement of “Dancin’ in the Moonlight.”
The new version throws it back to King Harvest’s hit version of “Dancin’ in the Moonlight” from the early ‘70s, but takes lots of liberties to create a new, country-pop version of the track that Chris says is the perfect summer anthem.
“The first time I heard this take on ‘Dancin’ in the Moonlight,’ it was a demo I kept listening to on repeat,” he says in a statement. “It sounds like summer to me and feels like the kind of song you wanna put on when you’re on the boat, at a bonfire, grilling or hanging with the people you love.”
Chris also sings the praises of his duet partner, his “second-favorite Lauren” — his first, of course, is his wife, Lauren Bushnell — and his fellow country star agrees that she loved being a part of this tribute to a beloved song.
“The original is one of those songs that lives on for many generations. Everyone knows the original,” she elaborates. “I am excited to be a part of a new take on such an impactful and iconic song.”
She adds, “I love the way it turned out. It’s an added bonus that I get to sing it with my buddy Chris Lane.”
The country star pals have even more fun with the new music video for the song, which follows them throughout the decades as they dress up in styles that honor the 1920s, the 1950s, the 1970s and the modern era. From Lauren’s ’20s-style flapper dress to Chris’ ’50s-era leather jacket and slicked back hair, the two stars dance their way through the decades, ending up in their real-life looks.
Multitalented star Jennifer Hudson has already earned an Emmy, a Grammy and an Oscar for her work in entertainment over the course of the last two decades. The 40-year-old actress is one step closer to achieving EGOT status: she just has to win a Tony Award at Sunday’s ceremony.
Hudson is nominated as a producer for A Strange Loop, the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical written by Michael R. Jackson that follows a Black queer man who tries to write a musical while struggling with identity, among other things. The musical leads this year’s nominations with 11, including Best Musical, the category in which Hudson is recognized.
This year’s nod isn’t the first time Hudson’s name has been mentioned in Tony Awards conversations. After receiving zero nominations in 2016 for her highly regarded performance as Shug Avery in The Color Purple, the incident became known as one of the most infamous award show snubbs.
Previous wins that contribute to Hudson’s EGOT status include a Daytime Emmy for executive producing the 2020 animated film Baby Yaga; Grammys in 2017 for The Color Purple and in 2009 for Best Album; and an Academy Award in 2007 for Dreamgirls.
Should A Strange Fruit win Best Musical at the 75th annual show, which broadcasts live on CBS Sunday at 8 p.m., the American Idol alum will join a small list of EGOT winners, including John Legend and Whoopi Goldberg.
Other notable celebs one award away from the high ranking are Viola Davis, Common, Billy Porter and Cynthia Erivo.
BTS released their three-disc anthology, Proof, which celebrates their ninth anniversary as a band. It also offers the new songs “Run, BTS,” “For Youth” and “Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment),” the latter of which was officially released as a music video.
Fitz and the Tantrums are out with “Sway,” a summery new single. Said frontman Michael “Fitz” Fitzpatrick, “We’ve always set out to get people up on their feet, smiling and dancing when they hear our music. ‘Sway’ felt like it had that special sauce when we were making it in the studio, and we’re already seeing the song work its magic when we play it live.”
Alessia Cara teamed with Justin Bieber‘s protege, Eddie Benjamin, for his new song “Only You.” The R&B-flavored song captures the intimate moments of conversations between two lovers.
After a five-year wait, Marshmello and Khalid dropped their second collaboration, “Numb.” Marshmello teases, “The song is a little different vibe” than what fans are used to. Khalid added of their friendship, “When we get together to make music it’s always [a] great vibe.” They first collaborated on the fan-favorite track “SILENCE.”
Lamb of God has unleashed a new song called “Nevermore,” the lead single off the band’s upcoming album, Omens.
The track certainly lives up to frontman Randy Blythe‘s description of the record, which he called “extremely pissed off.”
You can listen to “Nevermore” now via digital outlets and watch its accompanying video streaming now on YouTube.
Omens, which Lamb of God announced earlier this week, will arrive October 7. It’s the follow-up to the metal outfit’s 2020 self-titled effort.
Lamb of God will launch a tour behind Omens in September. Killswitch Engage will support all dates, while artists including Motionless in White, Spiritbox and Baroness will be on the bill for select dates.
Jimmy Eat World has premiered a new single called “Something Loud.”
The track, the first new Jimmy Eat World tune in three years, was partly inspired by the huge reaction to the lineup for this October’s When We Were Young festival, which “The Middle” rockers will play alongside bands that include My Chemical Romance, Paramore, A Day to Remember, Avril Lavigne, Bring Me the Horizon and Dashboard Confessional.
“While I thought I made the most of the early band days, I realize now I missed some stuff,” says frontman Jim Adkins.
“You’re in such a hurry to grow out of the formidable years,” he continues. “Like s***-togetherness is going to magically arrive when you hit some age you thought ‘grownups’ were. Yeah, it doesn’t work that way. But maybe the thing age and experience do reveal is that pivotal moments are hard to grasp when you are in them.”
You can listen to “Something Loud” now via digital outlets and watch its accompanying video streaming now on YouTube.
Ahead of When We Were Young, Jimmy Eat World will launch a headlining U.S. tour in September.

a letter to mefeatures 15 tracks, including Dixie’s Gold single “Be Happy” and her song “Wild.” In a statement, she says, “This is deeply personal to me because it not only shows my growth professionally and musically, but I really wanted it to represent past and present experiences that haven’t been the easiest to overcome for me.”
She adds, “I’m excited for fans and listeners to hear it because I think they’ll all be able to find ways to connect to the songs and the lyrics.”

The Rolling Stones brought their SIXTY tour to Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium on Thursday, marking the first time the band played in the English city since 1971.
For their fifth song of the concert, The Rolling Stones appropriately played “I Wanna Be Your Man,” a tune written by two of Liverpool’s favorite sons — The Beatles‘ John Lennon and Paul McCartney — that also happened to be one of The Stones’ first singles.
Rolling Stone magazine reports that Mick Jagger introduced the tune during the Liverpool show by telling the crowd, “We had decided to rehearse a special version of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ [the Gerry and the Pacemakers hit adopted by Liverpool’s soccer team], but we decided instead to do a cover song written by other local lads, so we’ll do this especially for you.” RollingStone.com shared fan-shot footage of the performance.
Lennon and McCartney had given “I Wanna Be Your Man” to The Stones in 1963, and in November of that year it became the band’s second single and first top-20 hit in the U.K., reaching #12 on the chart. Later that same month, The Beatles released their own version of the tune, with drummer Ringo Starr on lead vocals, on their U.K. album With The Beatles.
The last time The Rolling Stones performed “I Wanna Be Your Man” in concert was in 2012, when they dusted the song off for three shows during their 50th anniversary tour.
You can check out the full set list of The Stones’ Liverpool concert at the band’s socialmediapages. The show was the fifth performance of the group’s 60th anniversary trek, which kicked off June 1 in Madrid. The European outing continues Monday, June 13, in Amsterdam and runs through a July 31 concert in Stockholm, Sweden.

More details about Britney Spears wedding are out, thanks to Vogue, whichwas front and center at the ceremony.
Britney tied the knot with Sam Asghari at her Thousand Oaks, California, home and revealed she knew exactly what she wanted for her big day. “We really wanted to make this a small and beautiful moment with family and friends,” she said. “We wanted warm and feminine colors, including blush, white, cream and gold, and a lot of various shades of pinks, blush and reds.”
The guest list included Madonna, Selena Gomez, will.i.am, Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton and Britney’s dress designer, Donatella Versace. The fashion icon sculpted a custom, off-the-shoulder white dress with an open neckline and a long slit up the side. As for Sam, he wore a complementary Versace tux.
Among the decorations was a sea of pink, velvet and blush roses and an ornate, princess-like carriage pulled by a white horse with gold hooves. The ceremony lasted 10 minutes, and Britney had three separate outfit changes — by Versace — for her reception.
The outlet reports she and Sam did not have a first dance, but Britney did take over the dance floor with Selena and Madonna. The “Toxic” singer also joined Paris to belt out the heiress’s hit “Stars Are Blind.”
The reception wrapped at 10:15 p.m. The couple climbed into a Rolls Royce and were driven away to their happily ever after as guests waved sparklers in the air.
Britney and Sam first began dating in 2016 after meeting on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video. The Iranian-born actor popped the question in September 2021 with a 4-carat diamond ring.
This is Britney’s third marriage and Sam’s first. Britney shares two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
