Gillian Anderson shares her honest thoughts on brassieres

27th Annual SAG Awards/Getty Images for WarnerMedia

Like the truth, Gillian Anderson is apparently out, there.

The Emmy-winning actress had a unique way of keeping herself preoccupied ahead of Tuesday’s announcement of the 2021 Emmy nominees.  Taking to Instagram live, the Crown actress answered a variety of questions from fans, which led to her sharing her honest thoughts about lingerie — specifically bras.

The lighthearted conversation saw Anderson, 52, explaining that she doesn’t find brassieres very comfortable and would rather go the rest of her life without wearing one ever again.

“I don’t wear a bra anymore. I can’t wear a bra. I’m sorry,” she remarked. “I don’t care if my breasts reach my belly button!”

The actress, who just secured her sixth Emmy nod for her portrayal of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in Netflix’s The Crown, spoke about her experiences filming the critically acclaimed series and discussed the various scenes that stick out most in her mind.

“Probably the most complicated scenes [I filmed] were the audience scenes, just because there was so much dialogue and trying to make them different from each other,” Anderson answered, before teasing that she is sitting on some behind-the-scenes videos of the entire cast goofing off in Scotland when they were filming the second episode.

The X-Files alum also revealed in her lengthy IG live that her greatest fear is relaxing, that her first concert — that she can recall — was seeing The Eagles when she was 16, and that she prefers gelato over ice cream.  The latter answer made her go off on a nearly five-minute discourse about her love of the frozen dessert.

With help from Camila, Shawn Mendes sings in English *and* Spanish on new “KESI” remix

Sony Latin

If you liked Shawn Mendes singing on the Latin-flavored hit “Senorita,” you’ll love his new track: A remix of “KESI,” a song by Colombian musician Camilo.

In addition to singing in Spanish, Shawn also sings a verse in English, about really, really wanting to propose to someone: “What would you do if I got down on my knees?/What if I flipped our whole world upside down now?/You know that we fit together, you’re my queen.”

He adds, “I know that it’s too soon to have this conversation/But I can’t help myself, I’m runnin’ out of patience/You know I got you forever/Come on, give in to the pleasure/So put up your flags and surrender/You are my treasure.”

Speaking to Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe, Shawn explained that his girlfriend Camila Cabello worked with him to make sure he got the Spanish lyrics right.  “I could not mess that up,” says Shawn. “I remember there was one word and I was like, ‘I think it’s fine.’ And she’s like, ‘It’s not fine.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay! It’s not fine!'”

Shawn also tells Zane that this isn’t the only new music you’ll be getting from him, either.

“I’m making a lot of music. I think that maybe things are a little closer than people are expecting from me,” he explains. “And this was just like, this kind of fell out of the sky and landed in my lap as such a beautiful kind of gift.”

“But you know I’m obsessed with making music and obsessed with playing shows,” he adds. “So I can’t wait to get out there. So you guys are going to see me a little sooner than I think you think.”

Woman accused of aiding in Vanessa Guillen’s death indicted by grand jury

Bell County Sheriff’s Office

(FORT HOOD, Texas) — A woman accused of helping Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen’s suspected killer dismember and dispose of Guillen’s body last year has been indicted by a grand jury.

Cecily Ann Aguilar was indicted Tuesday on 11 federal charges including accessory after the fact, destruction of records in a federal case, conspiracy to tamper with documents, tampering with documents and issuing false statements in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.

The charges come one month after a Texas judge denied a motion from Aguilar asking her confession in the crime be thrown out.

Guillen was a Fort Hood Army specialist who disappeared in April 2020. Her remains were found along the Leon River in late June that year.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Texas said Guillen was bludgeoned to death with a hammer by fellow soldier Aaron David Robinson in the arms room of the Killeen, Texas, military base, according to the criminal complaint. He later died by suicide in July when confronted by police after Guillen’s remains were found.

Aguilar was his girlfriend at the time, according to the criminal complaint, and was taken into custody. In July 2020, she was charged with one federal count of conspiracy to tamper with evidence.

The Tuesday indictment stated Aguilar “did unlawfully and knowingly combine, conspire, confederate, and agree with another person to corruptly alter, destroy, mutilate, and conceal any record, document and other object,” such as Guillen’s body, “with the intent to impair its integrity and availability for use in an official proceeding.”

The documents stated she and Robinson dismembered Guillen’s body, destroyed some of it and concealed what was left of her remains. They further said she made false statements “to prevent” Robinson and herself “from being charged with and prosecuted for any crime.”

Lawyers for Aguilar did not immediately respond to ABC News’ request for comment.

Natalie Khawam, the attorney for Guillen’s family, told ABC News they are hoping for a “maximum sentence” for Aguilar.

“My clients, the Guillen family, and I believe that Cecily Aguilar is guilty. When the U.S. Attorney called me yesterday to tell us the news, we felt some relief knowing that justice is underway,” Khawam said. “We pray that this trial does not drag on but rather is put on a speedy trial calendar so that justice is not delayed. Vanessa was brutally murdered, in a way no one should ever be taken from this Earth.”

Biden administration to begin evacuating Afghans who aided US military in late July

OlegAlbinksy/iStock

(WASHINGTON) — The Biden administration will begin evacuation flights in late July for Afghans who have aided the U.S. military and diplomatic missions, according to a senior administration official.

President Joe Biden earlier this month said all U.S. combat forces will be out of Afghanistan by Aug. 31 and defended his decision to leave the country in the face of Taliban gains in the area.

The top U.S. general in Afghanistan, Scott Miller, returned from Afghanistan to Joint Base Andrews on Wednesday after he handed over his command at a ceremony in Kabul on Monday.

The evacuation effort, dubbed Operation Allies Refuge, will relocate Afghans who have applied for a U.S. Special Immigrant Visa and their families to a safe third country, but it is still unclear how many of these translators, guides and other contractors will be moved and to where exactly.

The administration also has not specified when flights will depart, citing security concerns, but the senior administration official told ABC News that they will meet Biden’s commitment to begin flights by late July.

“Our message to those women and men is clear: There is a home for you in the United States if you so choose, and we will stand with you just as you stood with us,” Biden said in an address on Afghanistan on Thursday.

Earlier this month, a U.S. official told ABC News that Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan — Afghanistan’s neighbors to the north — have all been under consideration, while a second official said the list includes the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, both of which are home to U.S. military facilities where Afghans could be brought.

This week, the president’s Homeland Security Adviser Dr. Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall and Special Representative for Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad are leading a delegation to Uzbekistan to discuss security and economic development opportunities for Afghanistan and other countries in the region, the White House announced Wednesday.

There are approximately 18,000 Afghans who have applied for Special Immigrant Visas, with many of them now fearing for their lives as the Taliban gain more districts in a summer offensive against the Afghan government. Within that group, 9,000 still have to complete their applications while the other half are having their cases adjudicated now, according to a State Department spokesperson.

JoJo Siwa says Demi Lovato was part of her “gay awakening”

Gabe Ginsberg/Getty Images)

JoJo Siwa has revealed that Demi Lovato played a role in her “gay awakening.”

During an appearance on the 4D with Demi Lovato podcast this week, the 18-year-old entertainer admitted that Demi’s “Cool for the Summer” was a huge influence on her.

“I’ve been figuring out my gay awakenings recently,” JoJo said, adding that her first “awakening” was Jenna Dewan’s performance on Lip Sync Battle.

“But do you remember your dancer, her name is JoJo Gomez, and you did ‘Cool for the Summer’ together?” JoJo asked Demi. “I remember seeing that and just being a little too interested.”

Demi was thrilled to hear it, noting that “Cool for the Summer” was their way of testing the waters before officially coming out as bisexual in 2017.

“I’m so happy you can see a little glimpse of that pride through that performance,” Demi said.

JoJo added that Demi also played her role in her girlfriend Kylie Prew realizing she was gay.

“She said she went to your concert and it was that concert — she would have probably had to have been 12, maybe, or 13, and she was there with her mom!” JoJo laughed.

JoJo came out publicly as a member of the LGBTQ+ community earlier this year.

Listen to new Andrew W.K. song, “Everybody Sins”

Napalm Records

Andrew W.K. has released a new song called “Everybody Sins,” a track off his upcoming album, God Is Partying.

The track, which is available now for digital download, is accompanied by a video featuring intense performance footage from the “Party Hard” rocker and his band, mixed with various bizarre, flashing images. The clip also features brief shots of W.K.’s fiancée, WandaVision actor Kat Dennings.

“When we started working on the video for ‘Everybody Sins,’ the director and I were scheming and straining over some of the choreography and camera moves,” W.K. says. “Now, I do realize some people will say life’s too short to scheme and strain like this. And others will say life’s too short NOT to scheme and strain.”

“Still, other people will say both these approaches are incorrect,” he continues. “And what do I say? Everything I just said in the video for ‘Everybody Sins.'”

You can watch the “Everybody Sins” video streaming now on YouTube.

God Is Partying will be released September 10. It also includes the previously released songs “Babalon” and “I’m in Heaven.”

W.K. will launch a headlining tour in support of God Is Partying in September.

Soccer superstar Lionel Messi agrees to new contract with Barcelona: Report

Buda Buda Mendes/Getty Images

(NEW YORK) — Lionel Messi and Barcelona have reached a new 5-year agreement for Messi to remain with the club according to an ESPN report. The report also says that Messi will be taking a significant pay cut to remain with the team.

The deal comes almost a year after Messi, widely considered to be one of the greatest players of all time, submitted a letter to Barcelona announcing his intentions to leave the team. He withdrew the letter shortly thereafter, but was unable to reach an agreement with the Catalan club to the point where he entered free agency on July 1.

Barcelona is facing a harsh financial reality at the moment with more than €1 billion in debt, likely the reason for Messi’s pay cut.

The Argentinian forward has played for Barcelona since entering their youth academy in 2000 as a 13-year-old. Messi made his first team debut in a friendly against Porto in 2003 and since then, has broken a number of club and international records.

Messi has scored 672 goals in 778 appearances for the team, leading the club in both stats. On top of that, he’s one of the most decorated players of all time. He won the Golden Ball award for the best player at the 2014 World Cup and has also won 6 Ballon D’Or awards given to the player voted as the best in the world.

Messi’s ascendance also ushered in a golden age for Barcelona as a team. He led the squad to 10 La Liga titles, 4 Champions League trophies, and 7 Copa Del Rey championships. The Argentinian also won his first international trophy this summer, guiding his home country to a Copa America title, Argentina’s first since 1993.
