Last week, Ryan Reynolds surprised everyone when he jumped on the #GraceKellyChallenge TikTok trend, where people harmonize with themselves while singing the song “Grace Kelly” by Mika.  The surprise was that the Deadpool star actually has an amazing singing voice — which Michael Bublé was dismayed to learn.

Michael has posted a whole TikTok in which he jokingly complains that not only is Reynolds a handsome actor with a great body who also stars in his own superhero franchise and runs several businesses on the side, but he can sing, too — which means Reynolds is horning in on his territory.

“So, last week, we found out that Ryan Reynolds can sing, too,” seethes Michael. “He’s a freakin’ super hero! Every business you touch, bam! Turns gold! With muscles! Abs everywhere!”

Michael then breathes into a paper bag to calm his anxiety and continues ranting, “Singing? That’s MY thing! That’s my thing. That’s MY special talent. That’s what the Bublé man is known for!”  He then collapses on a couch, throws some pillows and pouts.

One fan tried to make Michael feel better by reminding him, “It’s okay though, you’ll always have Christmas!

But of course, the whole thing is a joke: Michael’s was just poking fun at a fellow Canadian star.

It’s taken me a solid week to process this discovery @vancityreynolds … and Thanks a lot @tiktok ! ##ryanreynolds ##willferrell

It might be too soon to predict how Jameson Rodgers will enjoy married life, but after tying the knot with longtime girlfriend Sarah Allison Turner on September 5, he says he is loving everything about being a husband so far.

“It’s been good,” Jameson tells Lyric magazine. “Nothing feels different. I’ve been dating Sarah for six years now and I’ve known her for 10, so I already know every bad thing about her already. It’s all good!”

Jameson has plenty of other things to celebrate besides his new relationship status, including his recent number-one hit, “Some Girls.” The song is from his recently released debut album, Bet You’re from a Small Town.

“It definitely changes things,” he says of the song’s success. “Absolutely. You have more fans at shows and it makes them a little more fun because people know your songs now.

“The more success you have, the more street cred you get,” he adds with a laugh.

New Music Friday: New tracks from Trevor Daniel, Jessia, Zoe Wees, Forest Blakk

Today’s New Music Friday features fresh tracks from artists who all broke out within the last 20 months or so.

Trevor Daniel, best known for his song “Falling,” which became a hit in 2020 thanks to TikTok, is back with a new single called “Alone.” It interpolates the dance classic “Better Off Alone” by Alice DJ, and it’s the first release from Trevor’s new EP, That Was Then, due out in November.

He explains, “I got inspired to do an interpretation of [‘Better Off Alone’] because of the feelings I was going through from a breakup at the time.”

Jessia, best known for the viral song “I’m Not Pretty,” has put out a new single called “First Call,” from her debut EP, due out October 15.  “I wrote it two years ago when I was hopeful that I would reconnect with someone that I lost,” Jessia says of the song. “I thought he was my forever, but I eventually came to the realization that he was actually just there to teach me a lot of lessons.”

Zoe Wees, whose debut single “Control” was a 2020 hit, has teamed up with 6LACK for the track “That’s How It Goes.” “Knowing that 6LACKwas working really hard until he became who he is now, inspired me on a different level,” she says. “He has one of the most beautiful souls.”

Forest Blakk, who broke through earlier this year with “If You Love Her,” has released “Fall into Me,” a song he co-wrote with Matchbox Twenty‘s Rob Thomas.  The song was inspired by Forest’s girlfriend, and he says, “It’s our love story on display for all those out there to witness. And if nothing else, I hope this song reminds you that love stories do exist. Just be ready to fall at any moment!”

Bruce Springsteen has contributed music to the soundtrack of a new documentary called The Mustangs: America’s Wild Horses that was executive-produced by his wife, Patti Scialfa, and their daughter, Jessica Springsteen, along with Hollywood legend Robert Redford.

Variety reports that the film, which focuses on the story of the wild horses still living in the Western U.S., will get its theatrical release on October 15 and then will be available via on-demand outlets starting in late November. The movie also will premiere at select film festival next month.

The Mustangs: America’s Wild Horses looks at the history of the animals, the uncertain future of the horses still living in the wild and the various efforts to save and preserve the existing population of Mustangs.

“America’s wild horses are fighting their last stand,” says Redford in a statement. “Increasing competition for our natural resources threatens our wilderness areas, our wild horses and other wildlife species. Horses are interwoven into the very fabric of what is America. What threatens them threatens us all.”

You can check out a trailer for the film on YouTube.

In addition to Bruce’s music, the soundtrack also features songs from Willie Nelson and Emmylou Harris, plus a new original tune called “Never Gonna Tame You” that was written by acclaimed songwriter Diane Warren and performed by singer-rapper Blanco Brown.

Of course, Jessica Springsteen’s passion for horses is well-known.  She’s a competitive equestrian rider who won a silver medal for the U.S. this year at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

The full cast of the long-awaited Super Mario Bros movie has been revealed and it was announced Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt will be voicing the iconic Nintendo hero, Mario.

Illumination, the studio behind Despicable Me that’s producing the movie based on the popular video game series, unveiled its star-studded lineup.

Pratt reacted to the casting news and shared his memories of the popular arcade game by confessing he used to steal quarters out of a wishing well to play it.

“It’s wild,” he said. “Just dawned on me right now… the quarter I stole out of the wishing well to play Super Mario Bros has come true that I get to voice Mario.  But I clearly stole somebody else’s wish.  So, just waiting for that row of karma dominoes to come crashing down on me.”

He also teased he’s been “working hard” to perfect his Mario voice.

Assisting Pratt in making sure his princess is not in another castle will be It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Charlie Day, who will be playing Mario’s lovable sidekick and brother, Luigi. Speaking of which, Anya Taylor-Joy of The Queen’s Gambit fame will star as Princess Peach.

Rounding out the list of heroes are Keegan-Michael Key and Seth Green, who will playing Toad and Donkey Kong, respectively.

As for who will be playing the antagonist, Bowser, Jack Black will breathe life into the spiky, fire-breathing creature that has a penchant for kidnapping princesses.

Other announced cast members include SNL alum Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek the Magikoopa, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Foreman Spike.

The Super Mario Bros movie is slated to smash into theaters next year around Christmastime.

On Thursday night, Madonna graced the New York City premiere of her upcoming Paramount+ documentary Madame X, which streams starting October 8.  On the red carpet, she revealed that she’d recently spoken to Britney Spears, her duet partner on the 2003 song “Me Against the Music.”

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Madonna said of Britney — who she famously smooched at the 2003 MTV VMAs — “[I was] just checking in on her, and congratulating her on her marriage…or her pending marriage. I love her.”

Madonna also told ET that she was “really proud” of her eldest child, 24-year-old Lourdes, who made her Met Gala debut last week and who also can be seen strutting herself in Rihanna‘s Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 3 lingerie fashion show, which is now streaming on Amazon.

“Anything is possible for her,” Madonna said of Lourdes, adding, “She’s way more talented than I was, am, whatever.”

Madonna said that her Madame X documentary — which captures her theater tour in support of her 2019 album Madame X — includes “great art, thoughtfulness, incredible dancing, incredible music, provocation, politics, spirituality, family. Everything!”

Two upcoming dates on Black Veil Brides and In This Moment‘s tour with DED and Raven Black have been postponed due to “several members” from bands on the bill testing positive for COVID-19.

Affected shows include Friday’s stop in Lubbock, Texas, and Saturday’s concert in Oklahoma City.

One of those who tested positive is BVB drummer Christian “CC” Coma, who will remain off the tour when it resumes Monday, September 27, in Denver. Instead of recruiting a fill-in drummer, Black Veil will be performing “special acoustic storytellers’ set” until Coma can come back.

The tour is scheduled to wrap up November 21 in Atlanta.

Mickey Guyton’s husband reminded her who she was ahead of ‘Remember Her Name’

Capitol Records Nashville

Mickey Guyton‘s Remember Her Name album is out.

The record, released almost a decade after she signed a recording contract, might never have been released if not for the urging of her husband, Grant Savoy.

“It has been a long time coming. Like, the fact that I’m here is a miracle,” Mickey told Yahoo! Entertainment. “In 2019, I was ready to stop it all. Really, 100 percent, sometimes on a daily, I was like, ‘Why did I choose to do this? Like, this makes no sense.’”

Mickey admits she got angry at Grant, who refused to let her quit, although his reasoning made sense to her.

‘He kept saying, ‘Because you need to be here. If you’re not out there, then for every Black girl that wants to sing country music, that dream has gone if you’re not there,'” she recalled. “Then I was like, ‘OK, fine.’ And I’m so glad I didn’t stop.”

Mickey will be honored next month as the Breakout Artist of the Year at the CMT Artists of the Year ceremony.

Nas raised money to feed the hungry in his hometown, New York City, in a benefit concert Thursday in The Big Apple.

Rocking the stage in the rain at Forest Hills Stadium, the rap icon performed his classics, including “If I Ruled the World,” as reported by AllHipHop.com. Proceeds from his Concert to Feed NYC were donated to City Harvest, New York City’s largest food rescue organization.

The Grammy winner said the show was important because “it supports a cause I care deeply about.”

“We are so grateful to have a dedicated and passionate friend in Nas who will create such a special evening to support our work. Together, we can feed our city,” said City Harvest CEO Jilly Stephens. “The Concert to Feed NYC will help us rescue and deliver more food for the many New Yorkers who are struggling to put meals on their tables because of the pandemic, many for the first time,” she added.

“Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, New York City was facing a profound hunger crisis,” Stephens continued, “particularly in the marginalized communities that City Harvest has long served.”

Nas, who celebrated his 48th birthday on September 14, recently performed at Rihanna‘s Savage X Fenty fashion event which is streaming in 240 countries and territories on Amazon Prime Video.

In his latest video, “Brunch on Sunday,” Nas dined with Los Angeles Lakers basketball stars LeBron James and Russell Westbrook, and Swizz Beatz, as well as Nas’ 27-year-old daughter, Destiny. They appear in all-white in the clip, which was shot on the rooftop of the luxurious Catch restaurant in LA.
