If you’re the parent of a young kid, chances are you’ve heard “Baby Shark” on repeat ad nauseum.  Katy Perry and Jimmy Kimmel are now giving you its spiritual successor: “Yum Yum Nom Nom Toot Toot Poop.”

Katy, who’s the mom of one-year-old Daisy Dove, appeared Monday on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and was drafted into Kimmel’s war against Pinkfong, the creator of “Baby Shark.”  It should be noted that “Baby Shark” has amassed over 10 billion views on YouTube, to which Katy remarked, “I think that’s more than my songs.”

“It’s more than all of the songs, really, combined,” Jimmy retorted.

The two got down to business and crafted a song that could rival “Baby Shark.”  The critical components needed were capturing “the imagination of children” and using “a total of five or six notes” that are “repetitive.”

Katy felt the song needed to be about a subject “that two-year-olds would really find interesting” and the two brainstormed a few possible themes such as dinosaurs, puppies and low-interest mortgages before arriving at “eating.”

From there, they arrived at using “yum yums.” “It causes all the hair on my body to stand up when I say the word ‘yum yum’,” Jimmy quipped, “but I think that’s good because the parents have to hate the song.”

After adding other phrases they despise — “nom nom” and “toot toot” — the song was born about what happens when one eats food.  “This is an educational song!” Katy raved.

There was a small snag when composing the melody because the “Roar” singer admitted she doesn’t play the piano, but the two found their stride and performed their masterpiece on air — and even roped in LeVar Burton to help them sing the deliberately annoying song.

Trisha Yearwood‘s love for animals shines through in her #EveryDogCampaign.

In honor of National Pet Day, the country legend is launching the campaign through the Trisha Yearwood Pet Collection as a way to bring awareness to shelter pets. The singer is partnering with animal shelters across the country to showcase one dog each week who is available for adoption via social media

The shelters chosen all align with the mission of Trisha’s nonprofit, Dottie’s Yard Fund, named after her and husband Garth Brooks‘ beloved dog, Dottie, who passed away in 2016 at the age of 14.

“I’m so excited because I think this is just the very beginning of what we can do, and this was my dream all along for the whole pet line,” Trisha says. “You want to rescue every dog. That’s our goal. We’re going to work on it!”

Camila Cabello seems to be off men following her breakup with Shawn Mendes.

The “Bam Bam” singer, in a Vogue Beauty Secrets video posted on Monday, joked that she “wears a lot more lipstick…and gloss” now that she’s single because “I don’t like the feeling of kissing someone with gloss on.”

“It’s like, a lot. So now that I’m not kissing anybody, it’s gloss time baby!”

The 25-year-old singer says she’s focusing more on “taking care of myself” and putting her happiness before everything else.

“I feel like women, more and more, are kinda claiming these things like fashion and makeup in a way that’s not really for guys,” she explains.

Lately, Camila has drawn a lot of inspiration from another fashion icon.

Rihanna‘s like, somebody that has really inspired me in terms of fashion and makeup,” she shares. “Like even just the way that she is the fashion mom now and she steps out with her like, belly, and she just looks so cool.”

Cabello adds, “She’s somebody that I looked at the way they were doing their thing and I was like, you know what? I wanna be more open like that. I wanna try more things.”

Along with the grunge trio, 3rd Secret includes Bubba Dupree of the hardcore band Void, and vocalists Jillian Raye and Jennifer Johnson. Raye also played with Novoselic in the band Giants in the Trees.

Thirteen people were injured, according to the FDNY. It’s not immediately clear how many of the injured were shot. The victims were taken to hospitals in varying conditions.

The incident, reported just before 8:30 a.m. local time, appears to have started on a northbound N subway car in Brooklyn. The 36th Street subway station in Sunset Park and the 25th Street station in Greenwood Heights were also impacted.

There was smoke on the N train prior to it pulling into the 36th Street station, police said. A source told ABC News multiple smoke devices were likely used.

The New York City Police Department said there are no active explosive devices.

Authorities are still searching for the suspect who may have been wearing a reflective vest and a gas mask.

The FBI is assisting NYPD and officials from the ATF are at the scene.

President Joe Biden, Attorney General Merrick Garland and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas have been briefed on the situation.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul tweeted that she’s been briefed on the incident.

“First responders are on the scene and we will work with @MTA & @NYPDnews to provide updates as the investigation continues,” the governor said.

This day in Black history: Chadwick Boseman portrays MLB legend Jackie Robinson in ’42’

The late actor Chadwick Boseman is remembered as a prolific performer who took on roles that highlight the Black experience. He’s widely recognized as T’Challa in Marvel’s Black Panther, but before his reign as the King of Wakanda, Boseman delivered a moving performance honoring iconic baseball player Jackie Robinson in the biopic, 42.

The film, which tells the story of Robinson’s historical achievements as the first Black MLB player, was released on April 12, 2013. It garnered positive reviews and great success, grossing $97 million worldwide against a reported budget of $40 million.

The film’s title is a reference to Robinson’s jersey number, which was retired from the MLB in 1997 and that he wore with the Brooklyn Dodgers, the team that drafted him in 1947. Boseman spoke in past interviews about the first time he put on the symbolic jersey, saying he thought it was “unbelievable.”

“The time that was actually the most amazing was during filming,” he explained to Entertainment Tonight Canada. “There’s a moment, that’s actually not in the film but in the trailer, where I basically looked at myself in the mirror and saw my face change,” he said with a laugh, adding the note that he wasn’t going crazy experiencing the “amazing” moment.

Because of 42’s critical lens on Robinson’s life, including but not limited to the racism he experienced as a baseball player, producers called upon his widow, Rachel Robinson, to ensure storytelling accuracy. Boseman once spoke with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos about the pressure that came with the role, including the fact that he reassured Mrs. Robinson that he’ll do everything in his power to “honor” her husband.

While we celebrate Jackie Robinson Day on April 15, the day he made his Major League Baseball debut with the Dodgers, may we also remember the late, great Chadwick Boseman.
