Bono is sorry he forced U2‘s 2014 album, Songs of Innocence, onto your iTunes.

In an excerpt from his upcoming memoir Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story, published via TheGuardian.com, Bono issues a “mea culpa” over the whole incident.

“I take full responsibility,” he writes.

For those who don’t recall, U2 released Songs of Innocence by automatically uploading the album onto the library of every single iTunes user across the world, all for free. The strategy wasn’t exactly a hit with users, who criticized U2 for inserting the record into their library without their consent, while other artists and critics felt offering the album for free “devalued” the music.

In Surrender, Bono explains how he pitched the idea to Apple CEO Tim Cook by suggesting that the tech giant pay U2 for the album and then “give it away free, as a gift to people.”

“‘Like when Netflix buys the movie and gives it away to subscribers,'” Bono recalls saying. When asked about the iTunes users who maybe aren’t U2 fans, he replied, “It’s their choice whether they want to listen to it.”

“What was the worst that could happen?” Bono remembers thinking. “It would be like junk mail…Like taking our bottle of milk and leaving it on the doorstep of every house in the neighborhood.”

Eight years later, Bono now admits, “We didn’t just put our bottle of milk at the door but in every fridge in every house in town.”

“In some cases we poured it on to the good people’s cornflakes,” he writes. “And some people like to pour their own milk. And others are lactose intolerant.”

“I’d thought if we could just put our music within reach of people, they might choose to reach out toward it,” he adds. “Not quite.”

Surrender arrives November 1.

Wynonna Judd will continue on The Judds: The Final Tour in 2023.

The singer, who was one half of The Judds alongside late mother Naomi Judd, has added 15 dates to the arena tour that launched in September.

The new leg starts on January 26 in Hershey, PA and continues until February 25, where it wraps in Hollywood, FL. Kelsea Ballerini, Ashley McBryde, Little Big Town, Martina McBride and Brandi Carlile will be her rotating opening acts, with other special guests to be announced in the coming weeks.

The tour serves as a celebration of the life and legacy of Naomi, who passed away on April 30 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Judds were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame the next day.

“I have never felt so overwhelmed by this much love and support! The emotions that flow while listening to the different generations of fans sing back to me each night has been other-worldly,” Wynonna says. “The decision to add 15 more shows was a no-brainer for me. The fans have been such a gift during my time of grieving and honoring my mother in song. What an amazing season this is. Tickets for the new dates go on sale to the public on October 28 at 10 a.m. local time. Visit The Judds’ website for a full list of shows.

Lil Nas X was forced to choose between attending Beyoncé‘s party and one of his concerts. He chose the latter, but he admits it still stung.

The rapper told E! News he did entertain the idea of dipping to party with Bey, but he didn’t want to disappoint his fans.

“I’ve actually been invited to come to one of her Renaissance parties and that was super dope,” he confessed.  The singer added, “I think it was on the day of one of the shows and I was like, ‘Do I completely leave my fans stranded and don’t come to the show to see Beyoncé or not?’ But you know I couldn’t.”

Lil Nas X is optimistic the stars will align for him to finally attend one of Bey’s legendary parties. “Some time though for sure,” he expressed.

Beyoncé dropped her seventh studio album, Renaissance, back in July and has since been throwing parties celebrating her new release.

Lil Nas X said he’s also been celebrating the album and has been playing it on repeat. He said listening to the album makes him feel “liberated” and that his favorite tracks are “Church Girl” and “Heated.”

“The overall idea of this super duper pop legend, not even, this music legend in general, going into this direction that’s not really mainstream at all. I think that’s just so big of her,” he raved.

While the Star Wars universe has been expanding apace on Disney+, its big screen fortunes have been less clear: Patty JenkinsRogue Squadron has been waved off, and amid reports both Mandalorian veteran and Thor movie director Taika Waititi and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige were headed to that galaxy far, far away, nothing concrete has emerged.

However, The Hollywood Reporter says that Damon Lindelof, veteran of Lost and HBO’s Watchmen series, is writing what could be the first Star Wars film since 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker, with Ms. Marvel director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy behind the camera.

Officially, ABC News’ parent company, Disney, has two untitled Star Wars films left on its release slate following Rogue Squadron‘s deletion from the schedule. Those are set for December 2025 and December 2027, but there’s no word as to what they are.

(NEW YORK) — The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced on Friday that 7,560 pounds of Italian pork sausage products from Bob Evans Farms Foods, Inc. were being recalled over potential contamination with extraneous materials, specifically thin blue rubber.

The raw Italian pork sausage impacted by the recall was produced Sept. 8, 2022, with a use or freeze by date of Nov. 26, 2022.

The affected Bob Evans Italian Sausage is labeled with lot code XEN3663466 and has a time stamp between 14:43 and 15:25, the FSIS stated. The products also bear establishment number “EST. 6785” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

“The problem was discovered after the firm notified FSIS it had received consumer complaints reporting thin blue pieces of rubber in the product,” the recall notice stated. “There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.”

The FSIS added that it is “concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers” and advised anyone who’s purchased the products “not to consume them.”

Consumers should throw out or return the products to the original place of purchase.

“FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers,” the agency said.

Bob Evans Foods, Inc. did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the recall.

Katy Perry brought the fireworks and smiles to those disappointed over the sudden cancellation of the sold-out When We Were Young festival on Saturday.

The hotly anticipated Las Vegas festival was called off due to inclement weather. With Katy’s PLAY residency nearby at The Theatre of Resorts World, some people decided to scoop up tickets to try and salvage the night.

For the record, When We Were Young featured punk and emo acts like Avril LavigneParamoreThe All-American RejectsMy Chemical Romance and AFI. Katy admitted that music is quite the departure from her candy pop hits.

Despite the clashing genres, the hitmaker welcomed the displaced fans – whom she called “music orphans” — with open arms and spent time between sets chatting with the crowd to make the night special. She also empathized with the crowd’s disappointment by talking about her time in the 2008 Warped Tour alongside Paramore, All Time Low and similar acts.

“I stood in line for catering. I stood in line — in my flip flops — for shared showers. And I may have my own shower now, but don’t throw me in a pit ’cause I can go,” she reminisced before urging everyone “to welcome the emo kids.”

Katy also welcomed a When We Were Young attendee named Dylan onto the stage and allowed him to start a mosh pit with her dancers. The hilarious moment was captured by TikToker @zoerbarton.

Similar videos of the concert, which feature these so-called “music orphans” praising Katy for going above and beyond for them, can be found all over TikTok.

Korn bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu has opened up regarding his ongoing hiatus from the band.

In an Instagram video, Fieldy speaks on the “bad habits” that were cited as the reason for his break from Korn, which was first announced in June 2021.

“To clarify when I made the statement about my ‘bad habits,’ they weren’t drugs,” Fieldy says. “It’s just, at the end of the day, I don’t condone this, but when I’m done with all my responsibilities, I have a Bud Light or whatever. As many as I want, tell you the truth. I’m a grown man.”

He continues, “But I know I gotta get up at five in the morning, ’cause I’m responsible, and I got a job to do, and I got people that love me, and I got people that depend on me. So I’m gonna be there for them no matter what.”

Fieldy adds that he’s “never tried” heroin or cocaine. “I drink Bud Light, man,” he laughs.

As for his current relationship with Korn, Fieldy shares that they’re “all cool.”

“I love the guys in Korn,” he says. “We have no beef, I got no problem with those guys, you guys should support them.”

“I’m always gonna be Fieldy from Korn for the rest of my life,” he adds. “That’s part of my legacy. Those are my homies, those are my brothers, man. We’re just in different places right now.”

Since Fieldy’s hiatus, Korn released a new album called Requiem. Fieldy, meanwhile, has been releasing new music with his band Stillwell.
