As country fans count down to the kickoff of Stagecoach Friday in Indio, California, George Birge can’t help but remember his surprise main stage debut during the 2025 festival.
“One of the crazier things that I’ve ever gotten to do was playing ‘Cowboy Songs’ with Lana Del Rey at Stagecoach,” he tells ABC Audio. “I got an email from her asking me if I would come play and feature in her set and [it was] just the wildest series of events.”
“But that’s as big and as insane of a crowd as I’ve ever played for and it was definitely a like, ‘How did we get here?’ moment,” he recalls.
Though a surprise appearance by the “Ride Ride Ride” hitmaker seems unlikely this year since George is set to play shows in Ohio and Michigan Friday and Saturday, he does seem to be open on Sunday.

Meghan Trainor says she’s “devastated” after pulling the plug on her upcoming Get In Girl Tour due to family obligations, but as she tells Billboard, her kids come first.
“I just know what’s the safest and best thing for my family. And it wasn’t to tour for three months straight in the heat of summer with a new baby and two young children,” she says.
“I’m a workaholic, so I will work forever and I’ll never give up on my dreams, but I realized my biggest dream above a career is my family,” she notes, adding, “I needed help recently to see that because I was drowning. I couldn’t do it all and I thought I was doing it all.”
Meghan says the kids — Riley Sabara, 4, Barry Sabara 2 and newborn Mikey Moon Trainor — getting sick while she was trying to finish the album precipitated the cancelation.
“It was really scary as I was looking at my children and how sick they were and how young they are,” she explains, adding, “I realized I was already spending too much time working and not with them.”
“So I talked to my husband and my team a lot and we realized tour would be so difficult on these three kids at this age,” Meghan continues. “And for me it’d be so difficult, as I wouldn’t even be with them that much. I had to take a big overall look of, ‘Do I choose my career or do I choose being a mom right now?’”
In particular, she feels that it’s important to “bond with my three-month-old before she is too old and I lose this time.”
Meghan’s new album Toy With Me is still coming out on Friday as scheduled.
Zara Larsson, ‘Midnight Sun: Girls Trip’ (Sommer House / Epic Records)
Zara Larsson is giving fans the perfect fits for laying out in the “Midnight Sun.”
The singer is launching her first line of swimwear on Wednesday via her lingerie brand Main Rose, which she started last year.
Speaking to Vogue about her new venture, which includes bikinis and one-piece styles, Zara says, “It just made 100% sense. Summer at this point is a part of my personality and my brand — and swimwear is the ultimate summer staple.”
The line features shades of pink, citrus and red, plus leopard and snake prints. She tells Vogue, “I want people to feel really sexy — something they can wear to feel free, jump in the ocean, and have fun.”
All the styles include four detachable charms, including a lucky number 7 and an acrylic nail. Sadly, there are no dolphin charms as of yet, even though Zara laughs, “The dolphin meme is my mascot now. That’s my soul sister!”
Zara also hopes that when fans are rocking her swimwear this summer, they’ll be bumping her album Midnight Sun, or her upcoming deluxe, Midnight Sun: Girls Trip. Because the album actually came out in September 2025, Zara explains, “It will be the first time the album can actually exist in the summer, when people are hanging out with their friends or traveling.”
“The playfulness of summer is so authentic to me, and I’m glad people are connecting with it,” she tells Vogue. “I feel like the Mariah Carey of summer!”
Shinedown has shared a preview of a new song called “Burning Down the Disco,” which will appear on the band’s upcoming album, EI8HT.
Clips of the tune provide the soundtrack to a WWE promo video featuring highlights from the recent WrestleMania 42 event. You can check out the video via Shinedown’s Instagram.
“We brought something new to the ring,” the “Second Chance” rockers write in the post’s caption. “Unreleased. Unannounced. And it just hit @wwe.”
EI8HT, the follow-up to 2022’s Planet Zero, is due out May 29. It also includes the singles “Dance, Kid, Dance,” “Three Six Five,” “Searchlight,” “Killing Fields,” “Safe and Sound” and “Outlaw.”
Shinedown will launch a U.S. tour May 13 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

David Jonsson has a long history with his new film Wasteman.
The prison thriller follows parolee Taylor, whose hope for a new start is jeopardized by the arrival of his new cellmate, Dee (Tom Blyth). It’s now playing in select theaters.
Jonsson stars as Taylor. Although he’s been the lead in many movies now, such as Rye Lane, Alien: Romulus and The Long Walk, he told ABC Audio that Wasteman was the first film he ever auditioned for.
“The first film audition that came through that I thought was worthwhile going for was this. And that was years ago,” Jonsson said. “I thought I did quite a good audition and heard nothing, but it turns out the film just fell apart.”
Luckily, it was able to come together several years later, and Jonsson got to play the first-ever film part he auditioned for, now with the career experience he didn’t have beforehand.
“I look back now and I’m like, ‘I wasn’t ready to do it then,'” Jonsson said. “It wasn’t the right time.”
Now, though, was the perfect time, he said, calling the journey full circle.
“As a young actor, you’re just trying to build a body of work. And if you have some choice to put the things inside your tool kit, you should be varied and find the things that actually really speak to you,” Jonsson said. “This film always did.”
And while Wasteman wasn’t made with a large budget, Jonsson said it was made with passion.
“The only way you can make a film that is doing something [like this one] is if you’re willing to put the hours into working. I think that’s a principle that I try and live by, but particularly with this, you have to embody that,” Jonsson said. “That’s the alchemy for making a film like this.”

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame guitarist Dave Mason has died at the age of 79.
According to a statement provided on behalf of his family, Mason “passed away peacefully at his home in Gardnerville, Nevada” on April 19. The statement noted he “lived a remarkable life devoted to the music and the people he loved.”
Mason is best known as one of the founding members of the band Traffic, which he formed in April 1967 with Jim Capaldi, Steve Winwood and Chris Wood. They released their debut album, Mr. Fantasy, that year, which was a hit with critics and contained one of their signature tunes, “Dear Mr. Fantasy.”
The self-titled follow-up, released in 1968, featured the huge hit “Feelin’ Alright?,” which Mason wrote. The song has gone on to be covered by a variety of artists, most notably Joe Cocker, who left off the question mark in the title and made it a hit.
Mason had a rocky tenure with Traffic, leaving the group following the release of Mr. Fantasy due to artistic differences, only to rejoin during the recording of their self-titled sophomore album. He then left again after that album’s release. He briefly returned for a third time, touring with them in 1971 — but he only performed six shows, including the show featured on the live album, Welcome to the Canteen.
While promoting his 2024 memoir, Only You Know and I Know, Mason told ABC Audio that all the drama in the band led to them making great music.
“What made the band great? Unfortunately, you know, differences combine to form beauty and so the differences are what made things great, but the differences unfortunately drove it apart,” he said.
Mason was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the group in 2004, although Winwood and Capaldi performed “Dear Mr. Fantasy” without him. He did join in for the all-star jam on “Feelin’ Alright?,” which also featured Keith Richards, Tom Petty and others.
Outside of Traffic, Mason had a successful career as a session musician and appeared on such well-known albums as Jim Hendrix’s Electric Ladyland, George Harrison’s All Things Must Past, Paul McCartney and Wings’ Venus and Mars, and The Rolling Stones’ Beggars Banquet. He also did a brief stint as guitarist in Fleetwood Mac in the ’90s after both Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks left the group.
Mason had a somewhat successful solo career, releasing 15 albums. His last album was 2025’s A Shade of Blues. His biggest solo hit was 1977’s “We Just Disagree,” which he wrote. The tune, which appeared on his album Let it Flow, peaked at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100. He also wrote and recorded the tune “Only You Know and I Know,” which was a Hot 100 hit for him, and went on to be a top-20 hit for Delaney & Bonnie.
In September of 2025, after 60 years in the music business, Mason announced that he was retiring from touring due to “on going health challenges.” The prior year, in September 2024, he canceled a tour due to an urgent heart condition.
The wait is over. The release date for Drake’s Iceman has been confirmed. The reveal came after streamer Kishka discovered the date hidden inside a blue bag buried within an ice sculpture in downtown Toronto. The album will arrive May 15.

AWOLNATION and surfer/musician Makua have premiered the video for their collaborative single, “Catch a Wave.”
The clip, now on YouTube, features AWOLNATION frontman Aaron Bruno as a giant cyclops chasing Makua down the streets of Los Angeles.
“I wrote the song about a fellow surfer passing away in the water,” Bruno says in a statement. “It never felt appropriate to release on my own. Then I met Makua, and given the big wave champion that he is, the timing felt right.”
The song “Catch a Wave” was released in February.
AWOLNATION’s most recent album is 2024’s The Phantom Five. Bruno’s also been releasing music with his hardcore side project, The Barbarians of California.
