Pusha T may not be fan of Drake‘s “What Did I Miss?”, but that didn’t stop the song from charting well on the Billboard Hot 100. The single secured the #2 spot on the list with 22.6 million streams, 3.6 million in airplay audience and 6,000 sales in the United States between July 5 and July 10.

It’s Drake’s 81st song to make the top 10; he holds the record for the most top tens in the history of the Hot 100.

“Suppressor on the 1 spot I’m taking that soon don’t worry one song or another,” he wrote on his Instagram Story Monday alongside a laughing emoji. “Rule changes and all.”

Though he’s gunning for the #1 position on the Hot 100, Drake’s “What Did I Miss?” did launch atop the Streaming Songs, Digital Song Sales, Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts.

It’s his 21st #1 on Streaming Songs, his 15th on Digital Song Sales, and his 31st on both the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs lists.

The news arrived after Pusha T reviewed “What Did I Miss?” in an interview with Complex News. “No,” he said. “Just not for me.”

The ‘Refueled Duets’ collaboration that left Jay DeMarcus in tears

Veeps

When Rascal Flatts were working on their Life is a Highway: Refueled Duets album, Kelly Clarkson signed on to perform their 2001 hit “I’m Movin’ On.”

The superstar wanted to add her vocal in Los Angeles, but six weeks later, Jay Demarcus was still wondering when Kelly’s part would finally arrive.

Late one night, it proved to be worth the wait.

“She sent me an email back with her vocal on it and I sat in my studio by myself and I listened to it and I just started bawling like a baby,” Jay recalls. “I mean, I could hear the pain and the transparency and the vulnerability in her vocal. It was one of those moments that I just was stopped in my tracks.”

Jay couldn’t wait to share Kelly’s contribution with bandmates Gary LeVox and Joe Don Rooney.

“I remember sending the link to these guys and going, ‘This is one of the best vocals I’ve ever heard her do and one of the best renditions of this song I’ve ever heard in my life,'” Jay says.

On July 27 you’ll be able to stream the Columbus, Ohio, stop of Rascal Flatts’ Life Is a Highway Tour on Veeps. It includes a special appearance by Carly Pearce joining the trio on “My Wish.”

Reprise Records

My Chemical Romance is marching toward a completely RIAA-certified album.

Ten tracks off the band’s 2006 opus, The Black Parade, have earned new RIAA certifications, including the singles “Welcome to the Black Parade” and “Teenagers,” which are now seven- and six-times Platinum, respectively.

Meanwhile, “Famous Last Words” has gone double Platinum, and “I Don’t Love You” and “Mama” are now Platinum. “House of Wolves,” “The Sharpest Lives,” “This is How I Disappear,” “The End.” and “Disenchanted” have gone Gold.

With the cuts “Dead!” and “Cancer” having previously been certified Gold, every song on The Black Parade has received an RIAA certification except for two: “Sleep” and the hidden track “Blood.”

My Chem is currently on tour playing The Black Parade in full each night. During the trek’s opening show in Seattle on Friday, frontman Gerard Way added new lyrics to the song “Mama,” which were previously teased in a mysterious Instagram post.

The MCR tour continues Saturday in San Francisco.

New Josh Groban music? He’s ‘throwing a lot of darts,’ searching for ‘the good chills’

Josh Groban recently released GEMS, his first greatest hits album, which features two new songs. But he hasn’t released an actual new album since 2020’s covers album Harmony. And his last album with original songs was 2018’s Bridges. Josh says he is working on new music, but he’s not 100% sure what direction he’s going to go in next.

“I’m throwing a lot of darts out there, just as far as just kind of trying to feel what the next sound should be,” he told ABC Audio. “I’m working with a lot of amazing people.”

But Josh says sometimes, creating can feel like a monumental task. “Whenever you’ve got the boulder in front of you — this happens to me before every next project — you just kinda keep pushing and pushing until it starts to move,” he explains. “And you kind of go, ‘Oh, oh, this could be something. This gave me the good chills.'”

“There’s some good chills that have been happening this last few months,” he teased. “And I’m excited to keep chasing that.”

Of course, Josh hasn’t just been lying around in between albums: He toured behind both Harmony and Bridges, and hosted the Tony Awards in 2018. In 2022 he starred in ABC’s Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration. In 2023 he gave a Tony-nominated performance in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street on Broadway. He also did residencies, both at New York’s Radio City Music Hall and at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Josh has two shows scheduled in September at the Hollywood Bowl, during which he’ll be accompanied by the LA Philharmonic.
