Ashley Cooke‘s opening her next chapter of music with some “swear words.”

“This song is realizing that no words, answers, or explanations will be able to fix a relationship that’s beyond repair,” she says of the song she co-wrote. “It’s surrendering to the silence because it means finally having peace in the situation.”

The “your place” hitmaker will follow the new song with “tin foil hat” on Oct. 3 and “baby blues” on Nov. 14.

Earlier this year she also put out the new tracks “All I Forgot” with Joe Jonas, “the f word” and “the hell you are.”

So far, Ashley hasn’t revealed when the full follow-up to 2023’s shot in the dark will arrive.

Earl Sweatshirt has released Live Laugh Love, which started off as a satirical critique of the phrase. “It captured both parts of myself … being 16 and also having a family,” he tells The New York Times’ Popcast. The teen Earl makes fun of the phrase, while the current Earl understands it. “Over the course of making it and my life changing drastically over the course of that, I guess the joke was on me because it’s like that s*** is serious as f***. … If someone says ‘live laugh love’ and you have kids, you’re like, ‘Exactly.'”

Offset has dropped his third studio album, Kiari. “Kiari is me. I challenged myself as an artist and really put it all into the music. I took my time putting this project together,” Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, said in a press release. “I know who I am, and I hope the world gets to understand who Kiari is through this album.” Offset addresses Takeoff‘s death on “Never Let Go” and his relationship with Cardi B on “Move On.”

Kid Cudi is Free on his 13th studio album, out now. It features 13 songs, including previously released singles “Neverland,” “Grave” and “Mr. Miracle.” “For the past three years I wasn’t really challenging myself,” Cudi says in a statement. “‘Free’ is me being fearless again and doing something different.”

In Doja Cat‘s new song, “Jealous Type,” she tells her lover that her jealous tendencies are triggered by his refusal to introduce her to his ex.

Teyana Taylor returns from retirement with Escape Room, a world she “built to live in, bleed in, and heal in,” she says. The accompanying short film is a visual representation of the album, which features 22 songs, including narrations and collaborations with Jill Scott, Tyla, Lucky Daye and more.

Others releases:

BigXthaPlug, I Hope You’re Happy

Ghostface Killah, Supreme Clientele 2

2 Chainz, Red Clay (Official Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Lupe Fiasco, Samurai DX – EP

Walker Hayes‘ new album, 17 Problems, features his collab with Kane Brown on “Song for My Son,” as well as a guest spot by Colbie Caillat on “Adderall.”

“This album is very reflective,” Walker says. “I think you can tell I’m in the middle of losing my dad and raising kids. I’m at that corner of the road in life when you’re looking back on your childhood – you can see it as clear as you ever have – but you’re looking down the barrel of raising kids and keeping your family together.”

“Accidentally, that is a common thread,” he continues. “The songs have this ‘in retrospect’ feeling, and then also, ‘what does the future look like? How do I do this?’”

Walker’s set to make his Grand Ole Opry debut Aug. 29, before he sets out on his 18-date Walker Hayes: Unplugged tour in October.

Why Rob Thomas couldn’t get Alex Warren to open for him

Rob Thomas (Randall Slavin)

Rob Thomas has been posting on Instagram his reactions to current pop songs. On Friday, he commented on how much he likes Alex Warren‘s 10-week #1 hit “Ordinary,” but admitted he was pretty late to the party.

“You can tell it’s gonna be a hit just by the production,” Rob says in the video while the song plays. “But you also know that he could just grab this on a piano or an acoustic guitar and it would just be f***** awesome, too.”

“Another guy I ‘discovered,'” Rob says. “I heard the song and I wanted him to come on the road with me. And someone had to tell me, ‘No, he’s actually quite big.’ I was like, ‘Fair enough. Maybe I can open for him.'”

Rob captioned the video, “I was convinced I discovered @alexwarren. The ‘Ordinary’ is undeniable.”

If you want to hear Rob’s opinion on Benson Boone‘s “Mystical Magical” or Miley Cyrus‘ “Flowers,” he made videos about those, too.

As Rob said, Alex is “quite big” — he’s currently out on his headlining Cheaper Than Therapy tour. Rob is also out on his headlining tour, promoting his upcoming solo album, All Night Days, due Sept. 5.

Sammy Hagar is giving fans a taste of his The Best of All Worlds residency with a new live album.

The rocker is set to release Sammy Hagar & The Best of All Worlds Band – The Residency on Oct. 10, capturing performances from his 2025 Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM.

The album features 19 tracks with Sammy backed by an all-star band made up of Van Halen’s Michael Anthony, guitar great Joe Satriani, drummer Kenny Aronoff and keyboardist/guitarist Rai Thistlethwayte.

As you’d imagine, the album includes performances of several songs from Hagar’s time with Van Halen, including the just-released “Summer Nights (Live),” which is now available via digital outlets.

“‘Summer Nights’ was one of the first songs we wrote for the 5150 record, on our very first day in the studio,” Hagar says. “Eddie played me that guitar riff and I just started singing ‘summer nights and my radio,’ and the rest of the lyrics just came out like a river of consciousness.”

“I don’t think there’s a better theme song for a beautiful summer night, so it had to be the first track this summer from the live album,” he adds.

Sammy Hagar & The Best of All Worlds Band – The Residency is available for preorder now.

Cyndi Lauper has been forced to cancel one of the stops on her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour.

The singer announced on her Instagram Story that her show Tuesday at the Toyota Pavilion in Concord, California, has been canceled “due to unforeseen circumstances.”

“I’m sorry to disappoint my fans,” Cyndi wrote in her post. “The good news is I’ll still be performing Saturday, August 23 in Wheatland, CA, and Sunday, August 24 in Mountain View, CA.” She noted that there are tickets available for both shows.

Refunds will be given for the canceled Concord show.

Cyndi is currently on the final leg of her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour, which, as the title suggests, will be her last tour. It is set to wrap with a two-night stand, Aug. 29 and 30, at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
