The Monkees’ fourth studio album, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd, is set to be reissued on vinyl and as a massive deluxe box set.

The vinyl reissue, coming Friday, is part of the Rhino High Fidelity series, and was pressed from the original analog stereo master reels, something that has never been done before due to the difficulty accessing the original masters. The reissue is limited to 5,000 individually numbered copies and will be available at Rhino.com.

And for the true Monkees fan, Rhino will also be releasing a super deluxe edition of the album, featuring more than 100 tracks, and plenty of bonus material. The four-CD set comes with the original mono and stereo mixes of the album, along with new stereo and alternate mono mixes.

There are also two CDs, made up of previously unreleased session recordings, demos, outtakes and backing tracks, as well as television mixes that are getting their first-ever physical release. Plus, the set comes with a 7-inch single featuring previously unreleased mono mixes of “Love Is Only Sleeping” and “Goin’ Down.”

There are also new liner notes from Andrew Sandoval, who produced the box set, and a 32-page booklet featuring rare photos and more.

It is available now at Monkees.com.

Released in November 1967, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd, features the classic Monkees hit “Pleasant Valley Sunday,” which peaked at #3 on the singles chart. The album was the fourth consecutive #1 for the band — made up of Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones, Michael Nesmith, and Peter Tork — and went on to sell over 3 million copies.

Jackson Dean’s ‘On the Back of My Dreams’ (Big Machine)

There’s no doubt about it: Jackson Dean is willing to suffer for his art.

If you need proof, just check out the video for his latest hit or the cover of the album it’s on, On the Back of My Dreams.

“That shot was a mile up on the side of a mountain in Paradise Valley, in the middle of January,” he says of the record cover. “That shot was probably negative 28. The ‘Heavens to Betsy’ video is probably negative 50 plus the wind chill at sundown.”

“Yeah, cold times out there,” he adds. “Definitely a little sacrifice of body going on for that.”

It’s a sacrifice that’s paid off, as “Heavens to Betsy” is currently a top-10 country hit.

It’s been 50 years since The Rocky Horror Picture Show hit the big screen, attracting fans across the globe.

The film, starring Barry Bostwick, Susan Sarandon and Tim Curry, gained a cult following thanks to its rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack and midnight screenings, where fans dressed up as characters, acted out the film and talked back to the screen.

Before rock stardom, Meat Loaf appeared in the film as motorcyclist Eddie. His co-star Nell Campbell, who played groupie Columbia in the film, tells ABC Audio that he was an “absolute darling.”

“He was a big Texan baby with a voice of an angel with a jet engine behind it,” Campbell says of the musician, who died in 2022. “We all adored him.”

And one member of the cast got to do more than just act opposite him.

Patricia Quinn, who played Magenta in the film, says she made Meat Loaf prove a boast he made about being the best kisser at his Texas high school.

“I said, ‘Well, one would have to sample that.’ So I proffered my mouth towards him and we began to kiss,” she shares. “And I said, ‘They were right. You are the best kisser — in your high school in Texas.’”

The 50th anniversary of Rocky Horror is being celebrated with The Rocky Horror Picture Show Spectacular tour, with appearances by Bostwick, Quinn and Campbell. It will hit 55 cities in the U.S. and Canada, including Washington, D.C., on Thursday.

Plus, throughout October fans can catch a newly restored 4K version of the film in theaters; the 4K version will arrive on Blu-ray and on digital platforms on Oct. 7.

The soundtrack is also getting a 50th anniversary deluxe edition on red-in-gold vinyl on Oct. 10.

Janet Jackson‘s feature on Cardi B‘s Am I the Drama? song “Principal” has earned her a spot on the Billboard Hot 100, where she has managed to chart in five separate decades.

The song debuted at #92 on the list dated Oct. 4 after garnering 4.9 million streams, 1,000 sales downloads and 725,000 radio audience impressions in the U.S. for the Sept. 19 to Sept. 25 tracking week, according to Luminate.

With its new placement on the chart, Janet has had a new Hot 100 hit in every decade since the ’80s. She shares this accomplishment with Cher and Madonna, the only other women to have charted new songs on the Hot 100 in five different decades.

Janet now has a total of 42 Hot 100 hits under her belt, having earned 10 in the ’80s, 19 in the ’90s, 10 in the 2000s, two in the 2010s and one in the 2020s. The latest, Cardi B’s “Principal,” samples her very own “The Pleasure Principle,” which earned the MTV Video Music Award for best choreography in 1988.

The Chicago-set series The Chi will end after eight seasons, creator Lena Waithe said in a statement to Deadline Wednesday. She said it’s “the right thing” to do “for the sake of our story and our characters.”

“When I created The Chi, it wasn’t just about making a TV show — it was about owning our narratives and telling our stories with truth, care, nuance and complexity. It was about showing the soul of the South Side — the beauty, the pain, the grit, and the magic that lives in every block, and in every family,” Lena explained. She promised fans “a final season that our Chi Family deserves.”

She called the experience the “honor of my life to build a platform for artists to shine” and thanked all those who helped in the show’s success.

“I’m deeply grateful to every single person who helped build this world — our writers, actors and crew who give so much of themselves to make this show what it is,” Waithe said.

The Chi is the longest-running Black drama on premium cable/streaming, according to Deadline, and the second-longest-running series in Showtime’s history, along with Dexter, Homeland and Weeds.

It centers on a group of residents from Chicago’s South Side who become linked by a series of coincidences, tragic events, and the desire for community and redemption.

Jacob Latimore, Yolonda Ross, Shamon Brown Jr., Michael V. Epps, Birgundi Baker, Luke James and Hannaha Hall star in the ensemble series.

A Replacements biopic is apparently closer than you know.

Variety reports that Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard will cowrite the screenplay for an upcoming ‘Mats film, based on the 2016 biography of the band, Trouble Boys.

Wolfhard’s father, Eric Wolfhard, will be his writing partner on the project.

“One of my parents’ first dates was to a Replacements concert,” Finn writes in an Instagram post alongside a screenshot of the Variety article. “Then I was born!”

In addition to his adventures in Hawkins, Indiana, Finn is a musician and released his debut solo album, Happy Birthday, in June. He also appeared in the video for Weezer‘s cover of a-ha‘s “Take on Me.”

The Replacements, meanwhile, recently announced a deluxe reissue of their seminal 1984 album, Let It Be, due out Nov. 21.

Even Alex Warren couldn’t have predicted that his song “Ordinary” would spend 10 weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 and be declared the Song of the Summer by Billboard. Speaking to the publication, Alex reflected on his unlikely success, noting, “The last six months of my life have been really weird.”

“It’s surreal. I haven’t caught up with it yet,” Alex says. “I don’t look like a pop star. I think I look like, literally, the most average white dude you could ever think of. If you walk into a Buc-ee’s at 3 a.m., there’s four dudes who look just like me.”

“When I get done touring and I take a month or so off, I think I’m going to have a day of reckoning where I just start bawling my eyes out, going, ‘What is life?’”

But with success comes hate, and Alex wishes he didn’t have to work so hard to convince people that he’s not an industry plant.

“It bothers me when people make things up. One of the popular ones for a long time was ‘This guy buys his streams.’ And ‘His label buys his tickets; that’s why he sells out arenas,’” Alex says.

“I’m like, ‘Damn, I worked my booty off.’ These are people looking for reasons not to like you, and if they choose to believe something that’s not true, I mean, I can’t stop them from believing that.”

Meanwhile, Alex is trying not to be affected by the trappings of fame, like the fact that he has a card that allows him to eat at Chipotle for free for the rest of his life.

“I don’t even use the card because I’ll be like, ‘Is this douchey if I hand them a card and be like, “My meal’s free”?'” he says. “I pay.”

No other reason for the cancellation was given.
