The cast of Tyler Perry‘s Why Did I Get Married? will reunite for the movie’s threequel, set to release on Netflix. Perry recently announced the stars joining him in Why Did I Get Married Again?, naming original cast members Jill Scott, Richard T. Jones, Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Lamman Rucker and Sharon Leal. New to the cast are Everett Osborne, Da’Vinchi, Laya Deleon Hayes, Jaden Michael, Sydney Winbush and Taraji P. Henson.

“Look at God,” Taraji wrote on Instagram, alongside a screenshot of Variety‘s article announcing the news. “Honored to join the iconic cast of Why Did I Get Married Again? alongside my brother @tylerperry and this powerhouse crew!!!”

Released in 2007, Why Did I Get Married? — inspired by Perry’s play of the same name — follows a group of close friends on their annual weeklong married couples trip, which ends up exposing the cracks in each of their relationships. The couples reunite and share updates while vacationing in the Bahamas in 2010’s Why Did I Get Married Too?

The threequel will find them gathering again for the wedding of Marcus and Angela’s daughter — an experience that shows the group that their children mirror them in many ways. “Realizing their children have grown up to be so much like them, they must reflect on the examples they’ve set and ask themselves that age-old question, why did they get married… again?” reads the logline, according to Deadline.

Why Did I Get Married Again? is Perry’s latest film with Netflix. He has also written, directed and produced Ruth & BoazMadea’s Destination Wedding and Straw for the streamer.

The Smashing Pumpkins have announced a deluxe reissue of their 1995 album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness in honor of its 30th anniversary.

The expanded set features the original track list accompanied by over 80 minutes of previously unreleased live recordings from the Pumpkins’ 1996 tour. It’s due out Nov. 21 on CD, digital and as a six-LP vinyl box set accompanied by a hardcover book of new liner notes written by frontman Billy Corgan.

You can listen to the included live version of the song “Geek USA” now.

“Unearthing these live recordings from the original lineup’s true, last large-scale tour was a labor of love, and for me certainly a bittersweet as once we blew apart in 1996, we were never quite the same: be it emotionally, or spiritually,” Corgan says. “Thankfully, I can say this as the band is now enjoying our greatest public success since that time, and one can hear in these tapes the raw power that such nascent faith afforded us, then, and the will and wisdom to persevere that followed.”

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness was originally released Oct. 23, 1995. The double, 28-track album spawned a number of the Pumpkins’ biggest hits, including “Bullet with Butterfly Wings,” “1979,” “Tonight, Tonight” and “Zero.”

Corgan is also celebrating the Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness anniversary with a series of performances at the Lyric Opera of Chicago beginning in November, featuring “newly commissioned arrangements and orchestrations” of the album’s songs.

On her song “Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party,” the title track off her new solo album, Hayley Williams sings, “I’ll be the biggest star at this racist country singer’s bar.” When asked about the lyric in an interview with The New York Times’ Popcast, the Paramore frontwoman has no qualms with naming names.

“It could be a couple, but I’m always talking about Morgan Wallen,” Williams says, referring to the hitmaking “Last Night” singer.

“I don’t give a s***,” Williams adds. “Find me at Whole Foods, b****, I don’t care.”

Also during the interview, Williams speaks on the status of Paramore after previously describing the band as being on break.

“Paramore’s not ever going away,” Williams says. “We need breaks. We are three people that have been in a washing machine since we were teenagers, and it really affected all three of us in vastly different ways. … I don’t get to say, ‘This is exactly what we’re gonna do next,’ because, like I’ve been saying my whole career, Paramore’s a band.”

Lee Brice is getting introspective on his new track, “Killed the Man,” which drops Oct. 31.

“When I first heard this song, it made me look back at my own life and see the man who I was isn’t the man I am today,” he explains. “I think the message is something anyone can relate to as we all strive to evolve and grow through life and its challenges.”

“For me, ‘Killed The Man’ captures that stripping away of the ego to become who God intended me to be, leaning into family, faith, and something bigger than myself,” he adds.

Lee promises it’s just the beginning of new music to come. “Killed the Man” follows July’s “Said No Country Boy Ever” and his recent single, “Cry.”

His last full-length album, Hey World, came out in November 2020 and featured the number ones “One of Them Girls” and “Memory I Don’t Mess With.”

Lamb of God has released a new single called “Sepsis.”

The track is accompanied by a video filmed in the metal outfit’s hometown of Richmond, Virginia, which you can watch on YouTube.

“‘Sepsis’ is a celebration of the very underground local bands here in Richmond that we really admired when we were just forming Burn the Priest,” says guitarist Mark Morton, referring to LoG’s original name. “Bands like Breadwinner, Sliang Laos, and Ladyfinger—though they never got widespread attention outside of Richmond, those were the bands we listened to all the time. The song references that stuff in a way that’s a direct line to where we were coming from when we were in the basement writing our earliest material together.”

“Sepsis” follows Lamb of God’s 2022 album, Omens. Since then, they teamed up with Mastodon for the collaborative single “Floods of Triton” and released a cover of Black Sabbath‘s “Children of the Grave” following their performance at the Back to the Beginning Ozzy Osbourne farewell concert.

Doja Cat is known to the world as a singer, rapper, songwriter and producer, but on Wednesday night she flaunted her skills as an emcee. Doja served as co-host on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, rocking a metallic-colored look inspired by the ’80s, much like her latest album, Vie

While on the show, she reenacted a heated scene from The Real Housewives of Miami with The Roots‘ Tarik Trotter, helped Jimmy read their favorite #MyRoommateIsWeird social media posts and listened to Fallon, Questlove and Steve Higgins‘ elevator pitches for Vie.

She played a game of song scramble, showed off her favorite ’80s dance move and talked about Fortnite, displaying her new Mother of Thorns skin for the video game.

Elsewhere in the show, Doja helped Fallon interview guest Druski and welcomed Blood Orange onstage for a live performance of “Somewhere in Between.”

Doja’s Tonight Show gig followed the release of Vie and marked her first time co-hosting the show. She is set to appear as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on Oct. 11.

According to setlist.fm, Stevie’s show at the Moda Center included a performance of the track “Angel,” from Fleetwood Mac’s 1979 album Tusk. The site notes that it was Stevie’s first performance of the song since 1983.

As for the rest of the show, Stevie performed a set filled with hits including Fleetwood Mac tracks like “Dreams,” “Gypsy,” “Gold Dust Woman,” “Rhiannon” and “Landslide,” as well as solo tunes “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around,” “Stand Back” and “Edge of Seventeen.” She also performed her 2024 track “The Lighthouse,” and covered Tom Petty‘s “Free Fallin’.”

The Who wrapped their The Song Is Over – The North American Farewell Tour at the Acrisure Arena near Palm Springs, California, Wednesday night, treating the crowd to a set filled with hits.

For their last tour stop ever in the U.S., setlist.fm reports that Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend played songs like “Who Are You,” “The Seeker,” “I Can See for Miles,” “Pinball Wizard,” “My Generation,” “The Real Me,” “Baba O’Riley” and more.

The duo ended the night with just the two of them on stage for an acoustic performance of “Tea and Theatre,” and fan shot footage shared on YouTube shows Roger putting his arm around Pete at the end of the song and pulling him in for a side hug, with Pete grabbing Roger’s hand.

“I suppose, you know, it’s goodbye,” Pete said during their final bows. “That’s what it is. To what we know as the Who, it’s goodbye.”

As for the future, he added, “What Roger and I will get up to next, who knows? If we last any longer, I’m sure we’ll get up to all kinds of mischief. We’ll do stuff together, I’m sure, sharing some stuff, all kinds bits and pieces. But for this kind of thing, it’s goodbye. And you were last!”

Roger went on to thank fans “for all the years showing up for us,” adding “it was every band’s dream in the ’60s to make it in America and thanks to you guys, you made it happen for us.”

So far there’s no word on whether The Who will bring their farewell tour to other parts of the world.

María Zardoya of The Marías has announced her debut album with her new solo project, Not for Radio.

The record is called Melt, and is due out Oct. 10.

“My intention with this project was to make music for the love of experimenting, far from home, fully in the moment, open to whatever stream of consciousness unfolded around us,” Zardoya shares in an Instagram post. “And that’s exactly what we did in the snowy woods, tucked away, as ice melted beneath our feet and as we melted into the songs. What grew from the melted ice is this album.”

Zardoya previously announced the launch of Not for Radio in August, noting that The Marías will “be here forever,” but she “wanted to challenge myself to make a project that resonated with me in a different way.”

The most recent Marías album is 2024’s Submarine, which includes the singles “Run Your Mouth” and “No One Noticed.” Since then, they’ve put out the single “Back to Me.”
