Since Thomas Rhett and Jordan Davis have a hit duet with “Ain’t a Bad Life,” it’s not hard to imagine that the two are good friends.

But Jordan says the relationship actually goes deeper than that.

“I joke about this — Thomas is kinda my therapist,” he says. “I talk to Thomas a pretty good bit. He probably gets tired of seeing me call him or asking him to go to breakfast, but he always picks up. It’s never about music.”

Of course, when TR suggested turning “Ain’t a Bad Life” into a collab, Jordan couldn’t tell his “therapist” no.

“I love that song,” Jordan says. “The second Thomas sent it over, I was like, ‘Dude, you let me know when. I’m all in.’”

“And this song was done and it was gettin’ close to coming out,” he says. “And we talked. But it wasn’t until like the last like couple minutes of our conversation when Thomas was like, ‘Dude, I’m stoked about our song, too.’ And I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, dude, I can’t wait for that.’”

Jordan and Thomas have plenty to compare notes about, since each has four kids, with TR now expecting a fifth.

Eric Bellinger recently released the deluxe edition to his Afrobeats-inspired album, It All Makes Sense. It includes the original track list, as well as five brand-new songs and two additional guest features.

Projexx and Kheilstone join previous collaborators BRNDN, Daecolm, VScript, PaBrymo, VERBB and Quintelli, as well as Tiwa Savage — a feature he tells ABC Audio he’s been waiting on for nearly 10 years. Tiwa was supposed to be on his project It’ll All Make Sense Later, but was in the process of recording her own album.

I wasn’t in a rush to put the song out. I was just like, ‘Yo, I’ll wait. Like, finish your album. I’m here to support you and your movement,'” Eric said.

Though it took some time for the collaboration to come together, Eric said it happened at the perfect time “in God’s timing,” as there is now more hype around the Afrobeats genre.

“This is before there was a Tyla ‘Water.’ This is before ‘Essence’ with Tems and WizKid, but I felt it was too far ahead of his time,” Eric said.

I was like, ‘Let me just wait.’ And I’m glad I did, because now Afro went through the roof,” he said. “Had I just put it out five years ago, it could have been here and gone.”

Eric notes Tiwa’s feature on the “Understood (Remix)” was the ultimate stamp of approval as he adds his R&B flair to songs in the genre. He now has his eyes set on collaborating with Burna Boy.

“We had [a song] but the clearance issue was crazy,” he said. “So I think I would love to do that. I’m a big fan of his music. I like how he infuses R&B, even American R&B with his Afrobeats.”

Charlie Puth’s new song isn’t about what you think it’s about

Charlie Puth’s new song isn’t about what you think it’s about
Charlie Puth’s new song isn’t about what you think it’s about
Charlie Puth (Lindsay Ellary)

Charlie Puth used the video for his song “Changes” to announce that he and his wife Brooke Puth are expecting their first child. And while that’s certainly a big change in the couple’s life, that’s not really what the song itself is about — if you look at the lyrics.

While appearing on ABC News Live, Charlie was asked what inspired the song. While he mentioned marrying Brooke — they tied the knot last year — and becoming a dad, he was quick to add, “But it didn’t start out like that.”

“It’s actually about, if you listen to the lyrics and the chorus, it’s about the, kind of, amicable breakup of a friendship,” Charlie explained.

And it’s true: In the song, Charlie sings about missing someone and the sound of their voice. In the chorus, he sings, “I can feel the distance, space and time has made everything different … Everything has changed and I don’t know why.”

“It just shows you that people are just, like, listening to one part of the song: ‘There’s been some changes’ and the rest is ‘la la las,'” he said.

However, he allowed that the song could be about whatever you want it to be.

“It’s one size fits all really. I mean, there’s a lot of layers to changes [in general] and I realized the song could be about many changes,” he noted. “It doesn’t have to be just about that.”

“Changes” is from Charlie’s upcoming album Whatever’s Clever, which is due out March 6, right around the time that the baby is due.

Blondie‘s reissuing their 1999 comeback album, No Exit, on Friday, and Debbie Harry and Chris Stein are giving fans some insight into the record.

The band just released a new video, the No Exit Interrogation Tapes, in which Harry and Stein are questioned about the record. They reveal things like who came up with the title, their favorite songs, how it felt to reunite and more.

Both Harry and Stein say their late drummer Clem Burke came up with the title, suggesting he was insistent on it. Notes Stein, “It was kinda like, yeah, we’ll call it that, shut up already.”

Both artists also shared their favorite memories of Burke, who passed away in April.

“Clem was, you know, a singular character, but he was great with our kids when they would come on tour, and they remembered him very fondly and he was just really generous with them,” Stein said. Harry recounted a time when Burke came to her rescue.

“I was standing in the front of the bus where there were benches, you know, along the wall and something happened and the driver slammed on the brakes, but I mean slammed on the brakes,” she said. “And I was airborne and Clem caught me. And I was headed right for the windshield. I was going to hit that windshield.”

Harry ends the video by teasing the next Blondie record.

“I can reveal the name of the next Blondie album but … what’s it worth?” she says, with the camera cutting off, followed by “High Noon, 2026” quickly appearing on the screen.

Harry previously revealed the album’s title in a Los Angeles Times interview. Blondie also slipped the news into an announcement for a special edition of the 2023 Z2 Comics graphic novel Blondie: Against the Odds.

The first-ever Nirvana record played on radio is going up for auction.

Produced by the label Sub Pop, the 7-inch vinyl 1988 test pressing contains Nirvana’s cover of the Shocking Blue song “Love Buzz,” which was released as the future “Smells Like Teen Spirit” band’s debut single. It made its way into the hands of Sub Pop employee Scott Vanderpool, who played it on a local college station.

“While I was working at Sub Pop, any test pressing that came in I immediately took to the radio station to play on that show,” Vanderpool writes in an accompanying certificate of authenticity. “So your Nirvana test pressing … has the distinction of being the first Nirvana studio recording played on the radio anywhere.”

The “Love Buzz” test pressing is part of auction house Goldin’s 2025 Fall Music Auction catalog. For more info, visit Goldin.co.

Nirvana’s “Love Buzz” cover was later included on their 1989 debut album, Bleach. The band released two more albums, 1991’s Nevermind and 1993’s In Utero, before frontman Kurt Cobain‘s death in 1994.

Vybz Kartel had his debut performance in Canada over the weekend, where he took the stage at Scotiabank Arena and received a warm welcome from Toronto’s own Drake. The 6 God used the moment to give Vybz his flowers for his contributions to dancehall music.

“Look at all these people right here, how much we’ve spent with this man’s music right here,” Drake said in a clip that made its way to social media. “I used to hand out flyers outside of a club called Escape just to go inside to the club and listen to your tunes. So one more time, please—as a city, as a family—make some motherf*****’ noise.”

He then surprised the fans with a set including “Which One” and “Nokia.”

Vybz’s shows marked his first time in Toronto — a moment he says brought along “an amazing feeling.”

“The journey has been a long and a very tedious one. For me to be in Canada, creating history with three shows, never been done before in the dancehall arena, is an amazing feeling, and it’s very humbling as well,” he told the Toronto Star ahead of the show, noting his observation that the city “is very much in tune with dancehall, with the Caribbean culture.”

Vybz added that the opportunity came about after Drake brought him out at the Wireless Festival and shared how it was to be with him onstage.

“When you get to experience the power which is Drake live on stage, and you get to see how the fans react to him, you see how he’s loved. He’s so iconic. I’m looking in amazement, like, ‘Oh, wow.’ I’ll never forget that,'” he said.

Vybz also revealed the two have a song in the works, teasing, “It’s going to be crazy when you guys hear it. It’s three people on the track.”

Mya is far from a “Ghetto Supastar,” she’s a professional one. She proved this to be true Saturday night when she stepped in at the last minute for Muni Long on the Boy is Mine tour.

In an Instagram post reflecting on the night, Mya says she got ready for the show in Chicago “with less than five hours notice, no soundcheck, rehearsal or crew.” Then she took the stage and “freestyled a one woman set.”

“It was such a pleasure to jump out & support my beautiful, talented sisters on Brandy and Monica’s ‘The Boy is Mine’ tour last night & fill in for the incredibly talented Muni Long who we send our prayers & best wishes to for a speedy recovery,” Mya captioned her post. “[I] truly appreciate the love received despite any technical issues & imperfections. Love you Chicago!”

She also filled in for Muni at the Sunday show in Kansas City, Missouri, as the singer recovers from pneumonia.

“I truly hate that I won’t be able to perform for you,” Muni wrote when announcing she’d missing the Chicago and Kansas City dates. “Anyone who knows me knows how much I love being on stage and giving my all.”

The Boy is Mine tour continues Thursday in Memphis.

KISS drummer and founding member Peter Criss appears to be teasing some news.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, who left KISS in 1980, posted a new black-and-white teaser on YouTube that opens with images of a skyline on a rainy night, and then moves to what appears to be a rundown building with cobwebs on the walls, with crates on the ground that read “Criss.”

As a flash of lightning strikes across the sky, the image of a building that reads “Criss Incorporated” comes into view, with the images of cat eyes in the background, an obvious reference to his KISS Catman persona.

The clip ends with the date “October 31, 2025” on the screen, followed by the logos for two record labels, Flatiron Recordings and Silvercraft Records, Inc.

While Criss didn’t give any other clues as to what he’s teasing, the label logos suggests new music may be on the way. In April he revealed that he was working on a solo album.

If he is indeed teasing a new album, it will be Criss’ first solo album since 2007’s One For All.
