Thanks to the video for Jennifer Lopez‘s new single “Can’t Get Enough,” we know that Derek Hough is one of the stars featured in her upcoming film, This Is Me … Now. It turns out the project has quite the star-studded cast, as revealed in a new trailer dropped on January 17.

In addition to Derek, the film stars Fat Joe, Trevor Noah, Kim Petras, Post Malone, Keke Palmer, Sofia Vergara, Jenifer Lewis, Jay Shetty, Neil deGrasse Tyson, husband Ben Affleck and more. The Dave Meyers-directed movie will debut on Prime Video on February 16 along with her new album.

In the trailer, you hear snippets of some of the other songs on the album and see J-Lo in a variety of different sequences: having a session with her therapist, being told by friends that she’s a sex addict, working in some kind of factory, flashing back to her childhood, in a recovery meeting, dancing on a street — there’s even a shot of outer space.

In one scene, a man says to JLo, “You feel like nobody gets you.” “I don’t even get me,” she replies.

A press release describes the film as “a narrative-driven cinematic odyssey, steeped in mythological storytelling and personal healing” that “showcases her journey to love through her own eyes.”

When fans and industry insiders speculate who Lorne Michaels might choose as his successor as Saturday Night Live‘s executive producer, ex-SNL head writer and Weekend Update anchor Tina Fey‘s name inevitably comes up, and Michaels revealed to Entertainment Tonight that Fey definitely makes his list of possible replacements.

“It could easily be Tina Fey,” Micheals told the outlet on The Emmys red carpet on Sunday, January 14.

Michaels, who has produced or executive produced several of Fey’s other projects, including Baby MamaWhiskey Tango Foxtrot and the stage and screen versions of Mean Girls, adds, “Tina’s brilliant and great at everything. She’s a very important person in my life.”

However, he’s keeping all his options open at the moment, noting that there are “a lot of people who are there now who are also, you know … “

Michaels, 79, created SNL in 1975 and, with the exception of a five-year hiatus from 1980-1985, has served as its executive producer.

Michaels confirmed to ET that he intends to still be guiding the show through its 50th season.

“We’re doing the 50th anniversary show in February of ’25, so I will definitely be there for that, and definitely be there until that, and sometime before that we’ll figure out what we’re gonna do,” he says.

Fey joined SNL as writer in 1997 before becoming the show’s first female head writer two years later. She  remained on the show until 2006, when she left to write, star and executive produce the NBC sitcom 30 Rock. Her other credits include Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Wine Country for Netflix.

There were a few burning questions swirling around social media during Monday night’s 75th annual Emmy Awards. Here’s a roundup of answers to things that may have puzzled viewers who tuned in to TV’s biggest night.

– Who was that mysterious green goblin who walked the red carpet? It was none other than reality TV star Princess Poppy, who competed on season 15 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. She purposely decided to wear an outfit that would turn heads. “Mainly I wanted to be a troll-slash-hag. I wanted to be so shocking that you just have to turn and look at me — in the worst way possible,” Poppy told Entertainment Weekly.

When the show won the Emmy for Outstanding Reality Competition Series, Princess Poppy took to the stage to help celebrate its win.

– Why was Paul Walter Hauser eating mangoes before he won his Emmy? Well, it seems to be an inside joke between him, his agent and his manager. The Black Bird actor told reporters backstage some of the story.

“We love mangos. So that was a thing my agent at CAA came up with. He handed me a bag of dried mango as a good luck charm,” Walter Hauser said. “And I was like, ‘I’m going to eat this. Whether I win or not, I’m going to eat this on camera.’”

– Finally, did Ariana DeBose and Bella Ramsey make amends after the Critics Choice Awards snafu? Yes, it seems they did. After a joke Ramsey delivered about DeBose didn’t go over well at the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday night, DeBose posted, “No, I didn’t find it funny. Lol,” to her Instagram Story.

Good news, the pair were spotted hugging during a commercial break at the Emmys. We love a happy ending.

Director denies Taylor Swift wrote ‘Argylle,’ but says even his daughter thought she did

Director denies Taylor Swift wrote ‘Argylle,’ but says even his daughter thought she did

One of the stars of the upcoming movie Argylle is Dua Lipa, but no, it’s not based on a book written by another famous pop star: Taylor Swift.  That’s according to the movie’s director, Matthew Vaughn.

Rumors that Taylor had written the book that the movie is based on have been going around for months, for a variety of reasons, including because the official author of the book, Elly Conway, is using a pseudonym.

The other reasons are just as tenuous: The movie features a Scottish Fold cat, and Taylor has two of those. In the film, the cat is carried around in a backpack similar to one that Taylor used to carry her cat in her documentary Miss Americana.

In the movie, Elly Conway, who is the main character, is played by Bryce Dallas Howard, who has red hair — and Taylor plays a red-haired author in her “All Too Well” short film. And apparently Taylor likes to wear argyle sweaters.

But Vaughn tells Rolling Stone it’s all a big misunderstanding.

“It was actually my daughter who came up to me … and said, ‘You never told me Taylor wrote the book!’” Vaughn says. “And I’m looking at her going, ‘She didn’t write the book!’ And I was laughing because I was like, ‘It’s not true! She didn’t write the book!’ But my daughter was convinced of it.”

“There is a real book … and it’s a really good book,” he adds. “And there is an Elly Conway who wrote the book, but it’s not Taylor Swift.”

And while the Scottish Fold cat in the film belongs to Vaughn, it’s true that he only owns one because of Taylor. He says after his kids saw Taylor’s documentary, they begged his wife to get one for them.

The Sandman travels with a giant spider, man, in the new trailer for Netflix’s Spaceman.

In the film’s first full length trailer, released Tuesday, Adam Sandler stars as Jakub, an astronaut who is married to Carey Mulligan’s Lenka. While six months into a solitary research mission in the outskirts of our solar system, Jakub “realizes that the marriage he left behind might not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth,” as per the film’s official synopsis.

This is where the giant spider comes in. While described as a “mysterious creature from the beginning of time,” arachnophobes should beware that the creature bears a striking resemblance to a human-sized spider, with eight legs and everything. Jakub suddenly sees the creature, named Hanuš, inside his spaceship one day.

“I did not intend to frighten you, skinny human. Do not be afraid,” Hanuš, voiced by Paul Dano, tells Sandler’s Jakub. “You wish to know if I am real? I am like you, an explorer. Your loneliness intrigued me.”

The creature then offers to help Jakub fix his lonely life.

“I might be of help. I wish to assist you in your emotional distress,” Hanuš says.

Johan Renck directed the film that is based on the novel Spaceman of Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfař. It also stars Kunal NayyarLena Olin and Isabella Rossellini.

Spaceman arrives to Netflix on March 1.

Better Call Saul set a new Emmys record last night — though perhaps not one they had set out for.

The Breaking Bad prequel series was nominated for 53 Emmys throughout its entire six-season run, and they didn’t win a single one of those awards. This makes it the TV show with the most losses in Emmys history.

The series was nominated for seven awards at Monday night’s 75th annual Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Bob Odenkirk, Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Rhea Seehorn, Picture Editing, Sound Mixing and two nominations in the Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series category.

Despite being critically acclaimed, Better Call Saul could not meet the awards success of Breaking Bad, which won 16 Emmys during its five-season run.

Overall, Odenkirk was nominated six times for the Lead Drama Actor prize, while the show was nominated for Outstanding Drama Series seven times since it premiered in 2015.

‘Echo’ star Alaqua Cox talks breaking barriers in Disney+’s new Marvel series

Alaqua Cox is making history as Maya Lopez, the star of the new Disney+ series, Echo.

Lopez, introduced in the 2021 series Hawkeye on Disney+, is Marvel Studios’ first deaf and first female Indigenous superhero. Cox, a first-time actress, is deaf and hails from the Menominee Nation in Wisconsin. She’s also an amputee who wears a prosthetic foot. Cox said Monday on Good Morning America that being an actress has given her a platform to address the importance of representation in Hollywood.

“The authentic representation is so important … these deaf kids … can feel like, ‘I’m finally here. I feel like I have worth and I can do anything I want to go for.’ Maybe they can see that similarity in me when they see me on the screen,” Cox said through her American Sign Language interpreter.

In Echo, Vincent D’Onofrio reprises his Daredevil and Hawkeye role as criminal mastermind Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, who raised Maya as her adoptive uncle. He tells ABC Audio it was “a little different” acting opposite a deaf performer.

“But, you know, she’s so connected,” he explains. “She’s so good at reacting and acting. And … we just definitely felt that connection with her — as strong if not stronger than usual.”

He continues, “We have some very intense scenes when it comes to the whole father-daughter thing, and also the good vs. evil thing. And yeah … I guess in the end … [s]he’s just a very good actress and she’s a new actress. And you don’t get to see performances like hers very often.”

And that, D’Onofrio says, is “just super exciting to be around.”

All five episodes of Echo are streaming now on Disney+ and Hulu.

Disney is the parent company of ABC News.

75th Emmys: Tributes to television history

Monday night’s 75th Emmy Awards saluted some of the most famous shows in the medium’s history. Here’s a look at the telecast’s look back:

The Sopranos – While sitting in a replica of Dr. Melfi’s office, host Anthony Anderson introduced cast members Lorraine Bracco and Michael Imperioli, who marked the show’s 25th anniversary. They also shouted out “the great James Gandolfini,” whose photo was displayed on a table. The show’s Emmy-winning lead died in 2013.

Martin – The cast of Martin Lawrence‘s hit sitcom, including Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, Carl Anthony Payne II and Tichina Arnold, did a bit in which Payne pretended he was getting ready to accept an Emmy for his work on the show.

Cheers – On a set replicating the famous Boston bar, Ted Danson, John Ratzenberger, Kelsey Grammer, Rhea Perlman, and George Wendt were on hand to salute their show and present a pair of awards.

Grey’s Anatomy – Veterans Ellen Pompeo, Katherine Heigl, Justin Chambers, James Pickens Jr. and Chandra Wilson returned to salute their show and its place in history as longest-running medical drama on television. Heigl even made a comment about the “changes” the show has been through, which was seemingly a reference to her own departure in 2010.

All in the Family – Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers, who played husband and wife Mike and Gloria Stivic on the show, stood in a replica of the Bunkers’ living room and paid homage to the show’s creator, Norman Lear, who passed away in December 2023 at age 101.

Ally McBeal Calista Flockhart, Greg Germann, Peter MacNicol and Gil Bellows reunited to recreate their Barry White dance routine in a replica of the show’s famous unisex bathroom. The notorious dancing baby didn’t appear, but it did earn a mention from Flockhart.

I Love Lucy – Tracee Ellis Ross dressed up as Lucille Ball with Natasha Lyonne by her side for a reenactment of the famous chocolate factory conveyor belt scene from the classic comedy. With their mouths full of candy, they could barely announce their category: Outstanding Comedy Series.
