The teaser trailer for Disney+’s WandaVision spinoff Agatha All Along dropped on Monday, along with the announcement that the series’ two-episode premiere arrives on Sep. 18.

The show’s cast caught up with ABC Audio at the Disney Upfront 2024 back in May, where Kathryn Hahn, Patti LuPone and Joe Locke talked about the upcoming spooky series. LuPone explained exactly how Marvel Studios landed her on their call sheet.

“So, I gave up my equity card” she said. “Buh-bye. And I was sitting at the dining room table in my apartment and I went, ‘I wonder where my career is going to go?'”

LuPone then simulated a phone ringing, before she pretended to answer it.

‘Hello?’ ‘Marvel calling!?’ And I went, ‘Well, that’s it,'” LuPone said. “I went, ‘This is destiny.'”

Hahn joked the destiny was due to LuPone’s heritage. “Especially because of your family. Your roots,” she said to LuPone.

“Yes, I’m a Sicilian witch,” LuPone said, before describing the other reasons she said yes to Agatha All Along.

“They said it was Kathryn, and I hadn’t met Joe, but I’d seen Heartstopper, and I was going, ‘This is f****** unbelievable,'” she said. “And so, I was thrilled that I was even asked. I consider myself extremely lucky to be a part of this company, to be a part of the Marvel world, to be in this show.”

Locke was similarly starstruck to get to work with LuPone.

“I think when I got told she was in the show I, like, squealed a loud, witchy cackle because she was definitely one of my idols growing up,” he said. “So now to get to work with her and call her a close friend is very special.”

‘The Bachelorette’ recap: Jenn’s journey begins as she meets her suitors

‘The Bachelorette’ recap: Jenn’s journey begins as she meets her suitors
Disney

Season 21 of ABC’s The Bachelorette kicked off Monday, July 8, with 26-year-old physician’s assistant student Jenn Tran ready to find her soulmate. The audience was first introduced to the star on Joey Graziadei‘s season of The Bachelor, where she finished third, but charmed Bachelor Nation with her bubbly personality.

Tran is of Vietnamese heritage and the first Asian American Bachelorette in franchise history.

“I want to make everyone proud of me, you know my heritage proud,” Tran said in a confessional at the top of the show. “I think what it really comes down to is I have to be myself and do the best I can do.”

As always, the men went to great lengths to make a memorable first impression on Jenn, including Brendan, who ate raw hot peppers as proof he could stand the heat of a relationship.

“Lovesick” Jonathon was wheeled to the entrance on a stretcher, his face wrapped in bandages and wearing nothing but a hospital gown — like literally nothing — as Jenn found out when she caught the rear view. The facial bandages, he said, were so that she could judge him from the inside out, rather than the other way.

Night one was mostly fun and drama-free, and even included a game of truth or dare, allowing the men to show off their wild sides.

The only tension occurred when Jeremy, who drove up in a fancy sports car, let Jenn feel what it felt like to sit in the driver’s seat. The moment — along with Jeremy’s car — was hijacked by Brian, who stole the keys while Jeremy wasn’t around and stole some alone time with Jenn in Jeremy’s car.

When it came to handing out the first impression rose, Jenn’s “gut” told her Sam M. was the guy.

Following the rose ceremony, Jenn announced she and the remaining men would be jetting off to Melbourne, Australia.

Here are the men remaining after the first rose ceremony:

Aaron, 29, an aerospace engineer from Tulsa, Oklahoma
Austin, 28, a sales executive from San Diego, California
Brian, 33, an aesthetics consultant from Boynton Beach, Florida
Devin, 28, a freight company owner from Houston, Texas
Dylan, 24, a medical student from Elk Grove, California
Grant, 30, a day trader from Houston, Texas
Hakeem, 29, a medical device salesman from Schaumburg, Illinois
Jahaan, 28, a startup founder from New York, New York
Jeremy, 29, a real estate investor from New York, New York
John, 25, a medical student from Delray Beach, Florida
Jonathon, 27, a creative director from Los Angeles, California
Marcus, 31, an Army Ranger veteran from Raleigh, North Carolina
Marvin, 28, a luxury event planner from Santa Monica, California
Sam M., 27, a contractor from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Sam N., 25, an entrepreneur from Carlsbad, California
Spencer, 30, a pet portrait entrepreneur from Dallas, Texas
Thomas N., 31, a retirement advisor from Tucker, Georgia
Tomas A., 27, a physiotherapist from Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Some might have snarked when Kim Kardashian got into the TV producing game, but they won’t be laughing now that she’s reportedly snagged two of Hollywood’s best-known actresses as her co-stars.

Deadline is reporting Oscar winner Halle Berry and eight-time Academy Award nominee Glenn Close have signed onto All’s Fair, the legal drama co-produced by and starring Kim K. The project is also co-produced by Kim’s American Horror Story: Delicate colleague Ryan Murphy.

As reported, the trade calls All’s Fair a “high-end, glossy and sexy adult procedural” that will see Kim playing, “Los Angeles’ most successful divorce lawyer and the owner of an all-female law firm.”

The two actress’ roles are still under wraps in the project from Disney-owned 20th Television.

As reported in 2023, Nicolas Cage was nonplussed about how his image was used at the end of The Flash, and in a new New Yorker interview, he reiterated concern about how his digital image might be used without his consent in the future.

In the 2023 interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, he explained he saw The Flash and was surprised to see his Superman engaged in some superheroics. “When I went to the picture, it was me fighting a giant spider. I did not do that. That was not what I did,” the Oscar winner actor expressed.

“I didn’t do any of that, so I don’t know what happened there,” said Cage, who thought his Man of Steel would only be shown posing in a “de-aged” form.

During the new interview, a publicist’s reminder that he needed to “get scanned” for two upcoming projects, a film, and his forthcoming Spider-Man spin-off Noir for Prime Video, brought that stress back to the surface.

“Two scans in one day!” he exclaimed, noting, “Well, they have to put me in a computer and match my eye color and change — I don’t know.”

He added, “They’re just going to steal my body and do whatever they want with it via digital A.I.,” venting, “God, I hope not A.I. I’m terrified of that. I’ve been very vocal about it.”

Cage continued, “And it makes me wonder, you know, where will the truth of the artists end up? Is it going to be replaced? Is it going to be transmogrified? Where’s the heartbeat going to be? I mean, what are you going to do with my body and my face when I’m dead? I don’t want you to do anything with it!”

The casting director for Joker: Folie À Deux says it wasn’t her idea to put Lady Gaga in the film, but now she sees why director Todd Phillips chose her for the role.

According to Deadline, while speaking at a film festival in the Czech Republic, Francine Maisler said she’d recently seen a cut of the film and raved about Gaga’s performance. “She’s so good in it, you guys.  She’s going to blow your mind,” Maisler told the crowd. “I didn’t suggest Lady Gaga. It wasn’t my idea. That was Todd Phillips, before me. But I will tell you, she’s really surprising — and really good.”

Maisler went on to say that she was “really surprised” that Gaga was able to hold her own against the movie’s Oscar-winning star, Joaquin Phoenix.

“I mean, we all knew what she could do in A Star Is Born, but I thought, ‘Oh, well, that’s kind of in her wheelhouse.’ Something she could do and just be real. But this… Man, she’s good,” Maisler said. “Joaquin blows your mind, but that she could keep up with him, and be real — and not just wiped off the screen by what that role is and what the performance is — shows she’s good.”

Joker: Folie À Deux is set to hit theaters on October 4, and it is rumored to be debuting at the Venice Film Festival in August. It’s also said to contain numerous musical numbers: According to one report, Gaga recorded over 20 songs for the film.

Marvel fans are getting their first look at Agatha All Along, a WandaVision spinoff series focused on Kathryn Hahn‘s breakout character, Agatha Harkness.

A teaser trailer was revealed Monday, along with news that the series’ first two episodes will drop on Disney+ on Sept. 18.

In the first look — set to “Seven Devils” by Florence + The Machine — we find Agatha powerless and trapped in a spell Elizabeth Olsen‘s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch cast in the WandaVision finale.

Aubrey Plaza‘s Rio Vidal teases, “That witch is gone, leaving you trapped in her distorted spell. Claw your way out.”

Agatha says she misses “the glory days” and laments that Wanda “took every bit of power I had.”

“But I can be that witch again,” she proclaims.

Agatha sets out with her own coven — including characters played by Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Debra Jo Rupp and Ali Ahn — on a quest down The Witches’ Road, which Patti LuPone‘s character warns is a “death wish.”

“What witch in her right mind would join Agatha Harkness’ coven?” LuPone’s character asks later, to which Agatha replies, “I’m not looking for right-minded witches, as it happens.”

Per the official synopsis, Agatha All Along features the titular witch “down and out of power after a suspicious goth Teen helps break her free from a distorted spell.”

“Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing,” the synopsis continues. “Together, Agatha and this mysterious Teen pull together a desperate coven, and set off down, down, down The Road.”

For America’s largest theater chain, all the fireworks this weekend over July 4 weren’t just in the sky.

AMC, which owns more than 11,000 movie screens in this country, has announced that this past weekend was its biggest of 2024 so far, with more than four million people taking in a flick.

Attendance was buoyed by both the holiday weekend’s first and second place box office finishers. Despicable Me 4 earned a whopping $122.9 million over the extended five-day weekend while Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out 2 earned $30 million over the traditional three-day weekend time frame. After four weeks in theaters, the latter film has earned more than $1.21 billion worldwide.

AMC Chairman and CEO Adam Aron commented, “Needless to say, we are quite pleased to see the strong showing from our U.S. moviegoers during the Fourth of July holiday weekend. The performance of Despicable Me 4 reinforces that this is a successful and beloved franchise, and we send our congratulations and gratitude to our partners at Universal and Illumination.”

He added, “It’s also important to note that AMC’s weekend was driven by the wide-ranging appeal of several movies that offer distinct and diverse options.”

Hi, Barbie! Hi, mommy! People says “multiple sources” have confirmed Barbie star Margot Robbie is in a family way, expecting her first child with her husband, Tom Ackerley.

That confirmation, however, didn’t come from reps of the Oscar-nominated actress and producer.

The pair, both 34, have been linked since 2013, when they met on the set of the World War II drama Suite Française; he was an assistant director on the movie in which she starred. They’ve been married since 2016.

Although it will be the couple’s first child, together through their LuckyChap production company, they have brought into the world Barbie, Birds of Prey, I, Tonya, and other projects.

Representatives for Robbie have yet to respond for ABC News’ request for confirmation about the big news.
