It’s a My So-Called reunion.

Claire Danes is looking to reteam with Winnie Holzman, the creator of My So-Called Life, over 30 years after they originally worked together on the coming-of-age TV show.

The pair is aiming to reunite on a family drama series for HBO called The Applebaum Curse. According to the show’s logline, the series would be an “ongoing one-hour drama series about a dysfunctional family with Claire Danes as the lead role.”

In addition to starring in the show, Danes would serve as an executive producer on the project. Holzman would write and executive produce along with serving as showrunner.

Holzman shared the news on the red carpet of the Writers Guild Awards, where she was asked why there has not been any attempt to remake My So-Called Life in this age filled with reboots and remakes.

“It’s interesting that you’re asking me that. I am writing something that I’m hoping to do with Claire. It’s not a reboot in the traditional sense, but I think Claire Danes and I back together would be a kind of version of that,” Holzman said.

She made it clear that while it’s not a reboot and instead “a completely different story,” she’s excited about the prospect of working with Danes again.

“I’m writing it now, and it’s hopefully gonna be at HBO, so we’ll see,” Holzman said. “I have to cross my fingers! You never know what’s gonna happen, but Claire would love to do this with me, so I’m excited.”

Blake Lively amends her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni

Blake Lively filed an amended version of her lawsuit against her It Ends with Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni on Feb. 18.

The actress’s lawyers said in a statement that the new version “provides significant additional evidence and corroboration of her original claims” and “includes previously undisclosed communications” as well as “numerous other witnesses.”

The amended complaint alleges that Lively was not the only woman to voice concern over sexual harassment on the set of It Ends with Us.

Lively’s complaint notes that in May 2023 “another female cast member reported her own concerns regarding Mr. Baldoni’s unwelcome behavior” and that the cast member came forward despite “considerable reservations” because she felt “the work on the Film was suffering as a result of Mr. Baldoni’s behavior.” She claims Baldoni then “responded to that cast member in writing, acknowledging that he was aware of her concerns and that adjustments would be made” but that conditions didn’t approve.

“Later, another female cast member confided to Ms. Lively that she too felt uncomfortable on set,” the amended complaint reads. “All of this occurred, and was documented in writing, almost one year before the editing of the Film began.”

Lively’s amended complaint alleges that Baldoni’s “false narrative crumbles under the indisputable truth that Ms. Lively was not alone in complaining about Mr. Baldoni and raised her concerns contemporaneously as they arose in 2023, not in connection with some imagined power play for control of the Film in 2024.” Additionally, it alleges Baldoni “acknowledged the complaints in writing at the time” and “knew that women other than Ms. Lively also were uncomfortable and had complained about his behavior.”

Lively argues in her amended complaint that Baldoni’s public persona of having “portrayed himself as a leader of the male feminist movement” is a “stark contrast” to his private behavior, which she alleges “is replete with hypocrisy, misogyny, and retaliation.”

The actress’s attorneys said in a statement of the amended complaint, “Over the next several weeks, we will move to dismiss the utterly meritless lawsuits brought against Ms. Lively and Mr. [Ryan] Reynolds, and we will move full speed ahead with discovery that we expect will reveal shocking details about the depth to which the Defendants have sunk in their unending efforts to ‘bury,’ ‘ruin,’ and ‘destroy’ Ms. Lively and her family.”

The amended complaint has also added a new claim for defamation, which, according to Lively’s attorneys, is “based on the repeated false statements the defendants have made about Ms. Lively since she filed her original complaint.”

Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, issued a statement in response to Lively’s amended complaint, claiming in part that it “is filled with unsubstantial hearsay of unnamed persons who are clearly no longer willing to come forward or publicly support her claims.”

“Since documents do not lie and people do, the upcoming depositions of those who initially supported Ms. Lively’s false claims and those who are witnesses to her own behavior will be enlightening,” he continued. “What is truly remarkable here is Ms. Lively’s lack of actual evidence.”

Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak shared their admiration for each other while she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Tuesday.

During her speech at the ceremony, the actress gushed over her former The Office co-star, who is also the godfather to her kids.

“He’s such an important and integral part of my family,” Kaling said, before noting “sometimes I forget that the reason that I know him is because we worked together professionally.”

She continued, jokingly, “I’m as starstruck by him now at age 29 as I was when I first met you—at 24.”

Before Kaling took the stage, Novak shared his own praise, both personal and professional, highlighting Kaling’s impact on her audience and those around her.

“Mindy respects and understands [fame] in a very intuitive way because in addition to being a brilliant and wildly successful showrunner, an incredible mother of three, a deep and caring daughter, and friend and mentor to so many, she always makes the extra effort to show people her real personality, her real values, her real standards, her real sense of style, her real sense of humor. And I’ve seen what a difference it makes,” he shared.

Concluding his remarks, he said, “You’d be on the walk of talent if they had one. You’d be on the walk of friendship. You’d be on the walk of compassionate parenthood. But let’s face it, all of these would be terrible field trips, so here you are instead, very deservedly, a person who means so much to so many on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

Last June, Kaling shared in an Instagram post for her 45th birthday that she had given birth to her daughter Anne in late February. She is also mom to daughter Katherine, born in 2017, and son Spencer, born in 2020.

Robert Pattinson is used to being for the girls.

While being interviewed on the red carpet for his new film Mickey 17, Pattinson said it’s strange to now have a fanbase that is dominated by men.

When asked about so many male fans coming out to support him at the premiere, the actor said, “It’s quite strange.”

“There’s like a bunch of guys, which is a new one for me!” Pattinson continued.

The switchup is likely due to Pattinson starring as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Matt Reeves’ 2022 DC superhero film The Batman. He started his career, however, with a mostly woman-dominated fanbase after starring as Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise.

Reeves’ The Batman earned $772 million at the global box office. A sequel to that film is set to go into production at the end of 2025, with a scheduled release date of Oct. 1, 2027.

Pattinson spoke about The Batman sequel to Variety at the Mickey 17 London premiere.

“I know what it’s about but I can’t tell anyone, but it’s like, it’s very cool,” Pattinson said. “It’s very exciting.”

Cynthia Erivo is taking on another musical for her next role.

It was announced Tuesday that the Wicked star and three-time Oscar nominee will play Jesus in the upcoming Hollywood Bowl production of Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s Jesus Christ Superstar.

The Emmy, Grammy and Tony winner’s performances at the iconic LA venue will take place Aug. 1-3.

“Just a little busy this Summer,” Erivo wrote in her Instagram Story about the news. “Can’t wait!!”

Jesus Christ Superstar, which features lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Webber, is a rock opera about Jesus Christ’s final days, according to a press release.

It focuses on “the complex relationship between Jesus and his disciple-turned-betrayer, Judas Iscariot,” the press release continues.

Songs that are featured in the musical include “Superstar,” “Gethsemane” and “I Don’t Know How to Love Him.”

The upcoming summer production will be led by Sergio Trujillo, who will direct and choreograph, and Stephen Oremus, who will serve as musical director and conductor. It will also be produced in association with Neil Meron and Robert Greenblatt.

The news about Erivo’s next role comes on the heels of a whirlwind awards season for the actress.

Erivo was nominated for an Oscar in January for her performance as Elphaba in Wicked. This awards season, she’s also earned a Screen Actors Guild nomination for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role, a Golden Globe nomination for best performance by a female actor in a motion picture, musical or comedy and a Critics Choice Award for best actress.

‘The Brutalist’ director Brady Corbet claims Oscar-nominated filmmakers ‘can’t pay their rent’

‘The Brutalist’ director Brady Corbet claims Oscar-nominated filmmakers ‘can’t pay their rent’

Brady Corbet is opening up about the grueling process of promoting a film and the financial realities many filmmakers face.

In the Feb. 17 episode of Marc Maron‘s WTF podcast, the director — a 2025 Oscar contender, nominated for The Brutalist — said he’s made “zero dollars” from his last two films.

“It’s the first time that I’ve made any money, really, in years,” Corbet said when Maron asked about three ads he recently directed. “Both my partner and I made zero dollars on the last two films that we made. Yes, actually zero.”

“So we had to, you know, just sort of like live off of a paycheck from three years ago,” he continued. “And, obviously, the timing during an awards campaign and having to travel every two or three days was less than ideal, but, you know, it sort of was an opportunity that landed in my lap, and I jumped at it.”

Corbet said his experience isn’t unique, adding that he’s “spoken to many filmmakers that have films that are nominated this year that can’t pay their rent.”

“I mean, that’s a real thing,” he continued. “I mean, you’re not paid to be promoting a film.”

The Brutalist premiered at the Venice Film Festival in September 2024. Corbet said he’s been in film-promoting mode ever since “and had zero income, because I don’t have any time to work — like, I can’t even take a writing job at the moment.”

Corbet said doing “everything all at once,” including worldwide press to promote the film, is “boundless,” and that he works seven days a week and hasn’t had a day off since Christmas break.

“That’s what’s so crazy about this entire process is that you look your worst and you feel your worst, and depending on the themes of your film, like, you’re usually talking about some of the, like, most complex issues of our era,” he explained. “It’s like a six-month interrogation.”

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is sharing new details about her lifestyle brand, including a new name, and debuting it alongside a photo with her daughter, Lilibet.

Meghan, the wife of Prince Harry, shared in an Instagram video Monday that her still-to-be-launched brand is now named As Ever, a change from the brand’s previous name of American Riviera Orchard.

“‘As ever’ means ‘as it’s always been’ or some even say ‘in the same way as always’. If you’ve followed along since my days of creating The Tig, you’ll know this couldn’t be truer for me,” Meghan wrote on Instagram, referring to the blog she ran before marrying Harry in 2018. “This new chapter is an extension of what has always been my love language, beautifully weaving together everything I cherish — food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living, and finding joy in the everyday.”

Meghan has not yet revealed when products from her As Ever brand will be available for sale.

A new website for the brand invites people to subscribe by email, saying, “Save your seat at the table.”

The only image on the website so far is a photo of Meghan running in an open field alongside her daughter, Lilibet, who will turn 4 in June.

Harry and Meghan are also the parents of a 5-year-old son, Archie.

Harry appears to make an offscreen appearance in Meghan’s Instagram video, handing her the phone as he tells her, “It’s recording.”

From there, Meghan says with a smile about her new project, “The cat’s out of the bag.”

Describing her decision to rename her brand As Ever, Meghan said she felt the name American Riviera Orchard — a nickname for the area of Santa Barbara, California, where she and Harry and their two children live — “limited” what she could do with the brand.

“It limited me to things that were just manufactured and grown in this area,” Meghan said of the name, which she previously launched with its own Instagram account last March.

Along with announcing the new name As Ever, Meghan also revealed Monday that Netflix — the home of her upcoming lifestyle show — will partner with her on the brand.

“Then Netflix came on, not just as my partner in the show, but as my partner in my business. which was huge,” she said. “So I thought about it, and I’ve been waiting for a moment to share a name that I had secured in 2022, and this is the moment, and it’s called As Ever.”
