Brady Corbet is opening up about the grueling process of promoting a film and the financial realities many filmmakers face.

In the Feb. 17 episode of Marc Maron‘s WTF podcast, the director — a 2025 Oscar contender, nominated for The Brutalist — said he’s made “zero dollars” from his last two films.

“It’s the first time that I’ve made any money, really, in years,” Corbet said when Maron asked about three ads he recently directed. “Both my partner and I made zero dollars on the last two films that we made. Yes, actually zero.”

“So we had to, you know, just sort of like live off of a paycheck from three years ago,” he continued. “And, obviously, the timing during an awards campaign and having to travel every two or three days was less than ideal, but, you know, it sort of was an opportunity that landed in my lap, and I jumped at it.”

Corbet said his experience isn’t unique, adding that he’s “spoken to many filmmakers that have films that are nominated this year that can’t pay their rent.”

“I mean, that’s a real thing,” he continued. “I mean, you’re not paid to be promoting a film.”

The Brutalist premiered at the Venice Film Festival in September 2024. Corbet said he’s been in film-promoting mode ever since “and had zero income, because I don’t have any time to work — like, I can’t even take a writing job at the moment.”

Corbet said doing “everything all at once,” including worldwide press to promote the film, is “boundless,” and that he works seven days a week and hasn’t had a day off since Christmas break.

“That’s what’s so crazy about this entire process is that you look your worst and you feel your worst, and depending on the themes of your film, like, you’re usually talking about some of the, like, most complex issues of our era,” he explained. “It’s like a six-month interrogation.”

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is sharing new details about her lifestyle brand, including a new name, and debuting it alongside a photo with her daughter, Lilibet.

Meghan, the wife of Prince Harry, shared in an Instagram video Monday that her still-to-be-launched brand is now named As Ever, a change from the brand’s previous name of American Riviera Orchard.

“‘As ever’ means ‘as it’s always been’ or some even say ‘in the same way as always’. If you’ve followed along since my days of creating The Tig, you’ll know this couldn’t be truer for me,” Meghan wrote on Instagram, referring to the blog she ran before marrying Harry in 2018. “This new chapter is an extension of what has always been my love language, beautifully weaving together everything I cherish — food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living, and finding joy in the everyday.”

Meghan has not yet revealed when products from her As Ever brand will be available for sale.

A new website for the brand invites people to subscribe by email, saying, “Save your seat at the table.”

The only image on the website so far is a photo of Meghan running in an open field alongside her daughter, Lilibet, who will turn 4 in June.

Harry and Meghan are also the parents of a 5-year-old son, Archie.

Harry appears to make an offscreen appearance in Meghan’s Instagram video, handing her the phone as he tells her, “It’s recording.”

From there, Meghan says with a smile about her new project, “The cat’s out of the bag.”

Describing her decision to rename her brand As Ever, Meghan said she felt the name American Riviera Orchard — a nickname for the area of Santa Barbara, California, where she and Harry and their two children live — “limited” what she could do with the brand.

“It limited me to things that were just manufactured and grown in this area,” Meghan said of the name, which she previously launched with its own Instagram account last March.

Along with announcing the new name As Ever, Meghan also revealed Monday that Netflix — the home of her upcoming lifestyle show — will partner with her on the brand.

“Then Netflix came on, not just as my partner in the show, but as my partner in my business. which was huge,” she said. “So I thought about it, and I’ve been waiting for a moment to share a name that I had secured in 2022, and this is the moment, and it’s called As Ever.”

Peaky Blinders fans may have even more reasons to celebrate. A Netflix movie version of the Cillian Murphy-led series is already in the works, but creator Steven Knight has now hinted there are plans to continue the story beyond that.

In an interview with BBC Breakfast on Tuesday, Knight confirmed that production on the film concluded in December and based on early footage, fans won’t be disappointed.

“It’s a very fitting way to end this part of the Peaky story,” he said, putting emphasis on “this part.”

Knight teased, “I’m not allowed to announce it, but I’m just saying that the world of Peaky will continue.”

In the upcoming film, Murphy reprises his role as British gangster Tommy Shelby. Barry Keoghan, Rebecca Ferguson and Tim Roth are among the new cast members.

A first look at Matt Damon as Odysseus in Christopher Nolan‘s upcoming star-studded film The Odyssey has been released.

The image of Damon as Odysseus, the hero and main character of the Greek classic the Odyssey, was posted on Monday by Universal Pictures and the movie’s Instagram account.

“Matt Damon is Odysseus. A film by Christopher Nolan, #TheOdysseyMovie is in theaters July 17, 2026,” the caption of the post read.

The photo features Damon donning a beard, looking forward in character while wearing battle gear including a helmet and a wrist guard.

In addition to Damon, the star-studded cast is also set to feature Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway and Charlize Theron. Fans have speculated on social media on what roles each actor will take on but that information hasn’t been announced yet.

“Christopher Nolan’s next film ‘The Odyssey’ is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology,” wrote Universal Pictures in a December post on X. “The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX film screens for the first time.”

The Nolan film follows Oppenheimer, which earned Nolan best picture and best director at the Academy Awards in March 2024.

Homer’s Odyssey, originally written around the 8th century B.C., is one of the most well-known literary works of all time. The story covers Odysseus’ long journey home after the Trojan War.

Lily Collins shares family photo after welcoming 1st child

Lily Collins is celebrating all the love this Valentine’s Day with her family.

The Emily in Paris actress took to Instagram to share a selfie with her husband, Charlie McDowell, and their newborn baby, Tove Jane McDowell.

“I truly can’t imagine feeling more love,” she captioned the post. “Valentine’s Day (and every day) just got a whole lot sweeter.”

Collins and McDowell welcomed Tove, their first child together, on Jan. 31 via surrogate.

The new parents shared the news at the time on Instagram and wrote, “Words will never express our endless gratitude for our incredible surrogate and everyone who helped us along the way.”

Since then, they’ve each shared a photo update in their new roles as mom and dad.

McDowell also responded to negative comments that he and Collins have received after welcoming Tove via surrogate.

“In regards to the unkind messages about surrogacy and our path to having a baby — it’s ok to not be an expert on surrogacy,” he wrote in the comments section of the post announcing the birth of their baby.

“It’s ok to not know why someone might need a surrogate to have a child,” he continued. “It’s ok to not know the motivations of a surrogate regardless of what you assume. And it’s ok to spend less time spewing hateful words into the world, especially in regards to a beautiful baby girl who has brought a lot of love into people’s lives.”

He ended his message with, “That’s all for now because she just pooped and I need to change her diaper.”

Collins later replied to McDowell’s comment with three white heart emoji.

McDowell and Collins tied the knot in September 2021 after two years together.
