Hey there, Delilah, what’s it like on a Southwest Airlines flight? Well, the Plain White T’s can tell you.

The band recently boarded a Southwest flight and performed their signature hit, “Hey There Delilah,” while in the air as part of the airline’s Live at 35 program, which invites musicians to serenade the cabin while cruising at 35,000 feet.

The in-air set actually marked the second Plain White T’s performance on a Southwest flight — they were also among the first bands to play Live at 35 upon its original launch 15 years ago.

“We’ve played a lot of venues over time, and I speak for all of us when I say there is nothing like hearing a plane full of people singing along with your music at 35,000 feet,” says frontman Tom Higgenson in a statement. “We had the opportunity to perform inflight with Southwest over a decade ago, and while that can feel like it was a million years ago, not much has changed. We loved making history with Southwest and their welcoming team.”

You can catch the Plain White T’s performing on land during their ongoing U.S. tour with Yellowcard.

After waiting over 20 years to earn their first #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with “Afterlife,” Evanescence didn’t need nearly as long to grab their second.

“Who Will You Follow,” the current single off Amy Lee and company’s new album, Sanctuary, has jumped to the top spot on Mainstream Rock Airplay, less than a year after “Afterlife” hit #1 in 2025.

On “Who Will You Follow,” Lee sings, “When all your faith in reality fades away/ Who will you follow?” She tells ABC Audio that encapsulates the message of the song.

“When you can’t even tell what’s real, what’s true, like, who will you follow?” Lee asks. “Right over a cliff!”

“It feels harder and harder, I think, to have a baseline where we can all agree on what’s true before we start acting out to respond to that,” she continues. “And that’s so dangerous.”

Lee adds that the themes of “Who Will You Follow” ring throughout Sanctuary

“For me, this sanctuary is a sanctuary of truth,” Lee says. “It’s a sanctuary where we can look at each other in the eyes and go, ‘I’m real, this is real life.’ And our communication between each other where we can actually speak to each other as humans — not behind a screen, not through a filter, not through somebody else’s words, making some of them more bold or not — this is real.”

Ultimately, “Who Will You Follow” comes to the conclusion that we do need each other.

“The song, for me, is about breaking through the madness and the lies and finding the simple truth of just human connection again, and our thirst for that,” Lee says.

Sanctuary is out now. Evanescence is currently supporting it on tour, which continues Thursday in Charlotte, North Carolina.

As America approaches its 250th anniversary, Esquire is taking a deep dive into songs that most reflect our nation.

The mag has just come out with a list of the 25 most American songs of all time, with tracks by Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and more making the list.

According to Esquire, the list doesn’t aim to choose the greatest American songs; instead it is “a collection of songs that are distinctly American, addressing protest and leisure, joy and pain, wisdom and silliness, nostalgia and experimentation.”

Despite the title, Springsteen is not on the list for his iconic protest song “Born in the U.S.A.” In fact, songs with America or U.S.A. in the title or chorus were excluded from the list. Instead, The Boss’ 1980 track “The River” is recognized, with the mag calling it his “most perfectly American composition” because it describes the “compromises required of the working class.”

Dylan is represented with 1965’s “Highway 61 Revisited,” although the mag notes his “entire 60-plus-year career has been an exploration of American music.” Petty’s recognized for 1989’s “Free Fallin'” because it “depicts suburban isolation and longing.”

Other songs making the list include: KISS’ “Rock and Roll All Nite,” the Ramones’ “Blitzkrieg Bop,” Jimmy Buffett’s “Margaritaville,” The Beach Boys’ “Surfin’ Safari,” Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” and Woody Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land.”

‘Leviticus’ director, star talk mixing horror with romance

Horror is the hottest ticket at the box office this summer, with films like Backrooms and Obsession finding success in the theaters. Joining that wave of buzzy new films in the genre is the Australian horror romance Leviticus.

Written and directed by Adrian Chiarella in his feature debut, the film tackles themes of homophobia through a supernatural lens.

“What if there was some ritual that put some seed of fear inside of its victims to make them scared of their own desires? And that’s where I came up with this idea of a horror movie monster or an entity that looks like the person you’re most attracted to,” Chiarella tells ABC Audio of the film’s premise.

He adds, “And once I had that, I thought, well, now I’ve got a horror movie, but I really want to focus on this other thing that I’m interested in, which is the love story.”

Joe Bird and Stacy Clausen star as Naim and Ryan, the two teenage boys at the center of the love story who are each forced to undergo a ritual in their devoutly Christian community with the aim of scaring them straight.

“I think the love story has to work for the horror to work,” Bird says. “Because I think you’ve got to care about these characters and care about this relationship.”

The film was an early success at Sundance and SXSW, and reviews have been drawing comparisons to the queer hockey romance series Heated Rivalry – with one Letterboxd review dubbing it “Haunted Rivalry.” Chiarella and Bird say they appreciate being mentioned alongside an impactful piece of media.

“They’re two very different things, I think, but it is exciting that there’s this kind of ecosystem of queer stories that exists and that can sort of allow audiences to keep the conversation going,” Chiarella says.

Leviticus hits theaters Friday.

Rod Wave has a message for his fans: Don’t Look Down. That’s the title of his new album, which is scheduled to arrive on Aug. 28.

Rod announced the project with a trailer that opens with him attending a funeral. He is pulled aside by a man who tells him, “I know this is heavy. I got you. And regarding the business, I’ma take care of everything, man. You take your time, alright? I gotchu.”

The trailer then shifts to Rod in his office with his team.

“From now on, forever, no more sneaky business, no more side deals, cutting out the middle man. Just keep building our own machine. We just keep going and we don’t look down,” he says.

When asked about his first move, he looks directly into the camera and responds with “the album.” Don’t Look Down serves as the follow-up to Rod’s Last Lap in 2024.

Speaking about his growth and mindset since then, Rod previously told Billboard, “I understand the hand I was dealt and pain I was going through, but now I’m older and I know how to go through it and how to balance it. Now I understand the business.”

“With my back against the wall, how can I make the most out of it to another level? How can I control the space I’m in?”

Limited-edition vinyl and CD versions of the album are now available for preorder. Fans can also purchase one of 1,000 signed copies while supplies last.

A new trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is here.

Ahead of the Destin Daniel Cretton-directed film’s theatrical release on July 31, a new trailer dropped on Wednesday featuring Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Zendaya as MJ and more.

The new trailer sees Holland entering the Spider-Verse again, and this time, he’s spinning out of control in the aftermath of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, when he asked Doctor Strange for a spell to make the world forget he’s Spidey after his secret identity was exposed.

Brand New Day follows Peter as he fights crime full-time as Spider-Man “in a world that doesn’t remember him,” according to the synopsis for the film.

“The pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him — sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control,” the synopsis adds. “But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves — a powerful villain no one can even see.”

The synopsis continues, “The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them.”

The film also sees the return of familiar Marvel faces Jon Bernthal as Punisher and Mark Ruffalo as Hulk. We also get Jacob Batalon as Peter’s pal Ned and Michael Mando as villain Scorpion, with Sadie Sink and Tramell Tillman joining as new characters.

The press tour for the new film also began this week with Zendaya and Holland stepping out together in Madrid during a photo call for the film.

Brand New Day is the fourth Spidey solo adventure starring Holland after 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home and 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. It’s the 38th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Marvel is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News and “Good Morning America.”

Neil Young’s tune “Harvest Moon” has been covered by Melvins’ drummer Dale Crover, who has an interesting connection to the track.

Crover, who was also briefly a member of Nirvana, played a role in the original tune’s release over 30 years ago. You see, the rocker played a younger version of Young in the video for the original “Harvest Moon,” which was the title track off Young’s 1992 album.

Lil Nas X says he is “doing much better” after receiving care for bipolar disorder at a mental health treatment facility following his arrest in Los Angeles last year.

The rapper, born Montero Lamar Hill, was arrested in August and taken to a hospital after he was seen roaming nearly naked down a street in Los Angeles. The 27-year-old was subsequently charged with three felony counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one felony count of resisting an executive officer, to which he pleaded not guilty.

In April, a Los Angeles judge granted the rapper mental health diversion, saying at the time that the charges against him could be dismissed if he completed a mental treatment program and didn’t break the law for the next two years.

On Wednesday, Lil Nas X took to Instagram to share an update on his health.

“I’ve been in rehab for a few months, and since then, I’ve been back at home trying to ground myself back to earth and get out my head,” the Grammy-winning artist said in a video.

He added that he had since received a diagnosis of bipolar disorder, and began seeing a therapist and a psychiatrist, who he said had been “really helpful.”

“When I got my bipolar disorder diagnosis, I feel like I had known for the past few years, but I didn’t want to admit to it, because I didn’t want to have to take medication, and, I don’t know, have people think different of me,” he said. “I’m already Black and gay … I’m, like, living life on ‘extreme hard’ mode.”

Lil Nas X said he has been “doing much better” since receiving the diagnosis and undergoing treatment for it.

“I’m doing better. I’m feeling better. I’m creating freely, and there’s less fear in my heart, and I’m just, like, smelling the roses. I’m smelling the roses, man,” he said.

He added, “I want to let you guys know that there is new music on the way, and I’m not getting completely into that just yet, but I’m excited to do that, and I’m excited to go on this journey with you guys, this next chapter.”

Lil Nas X ended his video with a message to his fans and supporters, whom he called his “Montourage.”

“We’ve been through so much together. Thank you guys for holding me down,” he said. “I love you, and all I wanna do is continue to try to make you proud and make myself proud. So, let’s go, dreamboy, let’s go.”

The rapper’s debut studio album, Montero, was released in September 2021. His second studio album, Dreamboy, has not yet been released; however, he has released several singles and promotional singles teasing the project.

The pop/country icon shared the preview alongside a short video that shows her attaching an Ontario license plate to the front of the truck that appears on the album’s cover.

She also revealed the song will drop June 26. It includes a guest spot by the “Delta Dawn” superstar, who, like Shania, started singing when she was just a kid.

“This one is really special,” Shania writes. “I’m honored to say that @thetanyatucker features. This song is an homage to my mother, who believed with every ounce of her being that her daughter was destined to be the next Tanya Tucker.”
