Jimmy Buffett was posthumously inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2024 in the Musical Excellence category, and even though he passed away in 2023, it turns out he was still able to attend the ceremony.

Kenny Chesney and James Taylor performed in honor of Buffett at the induction. In a recent interview with Howard Stern, Chesney revealed that he and guitarist Mac McAnally, a member of Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band, snuck some of the “Margaritaville” legend’s ashes into the ceremony.

“We were sitting back there warming up, trying to figure out our parts and stuff, and Mac comes up to me and he goes, ‘Look at this,’ and it was a small urn. He had Jimmy’s ashes in his coat pocket,” Chesney said. “So Jimmy’s ashes were in Mac McAnally’s coat pocket onstage with us as he was getting inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.”

Turns out, it was Buffett’s daughter Savannah Buffett who gave McAnally the ashes.

“So even after he passed, Jimmy found a way to join the party,” Chesney added.

Buffett passed away Sept. 1, 2023, after battling a rare and aggressive form of skin cancer.

Abbott Elementary is not Quinta Brunson‘s only project based on her experience in the Philadelphia school system. The actress has also just launched a fund that will benefit students attending Philly public schools. The Quinta Brunson Field Trip Fund will collect donations that will go toward the cost of field trips, allowing students in underserved communities to visit museums, national landmarks, parks, discover centers and more.

“Field trips were some of the most memorable parts of my own education growing up in Philadelphia,” Brunson said in a statement. “They opened my world, sparked my creativity, and helped me imagine a future beyond what I saw every day.”

“Going somewhere new shows you that the world is bigger and more exciting than you believe, and it can shape what you come to see as achievable,” she continued. “I’m proud to support Philadelphia students with experiences that remind them their dreams are valid and their futures are bright.”

Ready or not, here comes the trailer for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.

Searchlight Pictures released the official trailer for the upcoming horror sequel film on Wednesday. It follows what happens to Samara Weaving‘s Grace moments after she survived the attack from the Le Domas family during the events of the first film.

Now, Grace “discovers she’s reached the next level of the nightmarish game — and this time with her estranged sister Faith (Kathryn Newton) at her side,” according to the film’s logline. “Grace has one chance to survive, keep her sister alive, and claim the High Seat of the Council that controls the world. Four rival families are hunting her for the throne, and whoever wins rules it all.”

Joining Newton as new cast members this time around are Sarah Michelle Gellar as Ursula Danforth, Shawn Hatosy as Titus Danforth and David Cronenberg as Mr. Danforth.

Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng and Elijah Wood also star in the sequel to the 2019 film.

“You’ve caused quite a stir, Mrs. Le Domas. You married into that family, now they’re dead. What you didn’t know is that this goes far beyond them. By surviving Hide and Seek, you’ve triggered a new game. This time against the High Council families. Double or nothing,” Wood’s character, called The Lawyer, says in the trailer.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett directed the film from a script by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come arrives in theaters on April 10, 2026.

Disney is the parent company of ABC News and Searchlight Pictures.

Burna Boy has offered to pay the funeral expenses for four people who were killed in a mass shooting at a children’s birthday party in Stockton, California, Saturday. He says in a statement that he wanted to financially support the victims’ families as they mourn and grieve the loss of their loved ones.

“When I heard about the children murdered in Stockton, my heart broke,” he says in the statement, noting he “reached out to Wack 100 and connected with [Vice Mayor] Jason Lee because no family should ever face this kind of pain alone. … I wanted to do whatever I could to support these parents as they begin the long process of healing.”

Lee said in his own statement, “Burna Boy’s generosity is an example of how people around the world want to help, even when they’ve never met the families impacted.”

As ABC News previously reported, the shooting unfolded at a banquet hall Saturday evening during a child’s birthday celebration.

Sheriff Patrick Withrow of the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said on Sunday that there may have been multiple shooters involved in the shooting, which appears to have been a targeted attack. A 21-year-old was killed, as well as an 8-, 9- and 14-year-old, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office told ABC News. Eleven others were wounded in the shooting, including one who remains in critical condition.

No suspects have been taken into custody.

Former Foreigner frontman Lou Gramm has revealed that he has a new solo album coming out next year.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer made the revelation during an appearance on the Kyle Meredith with… podcast, sharing that he worked on it with former Foreigner bassist Bruce Turgon. Gramm said, “He helped me write songs for my upcoming solo album, which is being released in March.”

Gramm said he’s been working on the album for over two years.

“I have been looking through my backlog of songs that were great songs, but were unfinished and didn’t make it to the cut on my records, and went back and finished some of them. And they’re awesome songs,” he explained. “So I’m taking some new songs that were written and some of the older songs that deserve to be on the album. I finished ’em up, polished ’em up, and they’re on the album. So it’s a little conglomerate of past and present.”

Gramm added that he expects the first single to be out in early February, noting the album “rocks hard.”

Gramm is set to play some select dates with Foreigner in December, starting with a two-night stand at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York, on Wednesday and Thursday. A complete list of dates can be found at Foreigneronline.com.

Jillian Lauren Shriner, the wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, has filed for divorce.

In documents obtained by ABC Audio, Lauren Shriner checks irreconcilable differences as grounds for the separation. She also requests joint physical and legal custody of their two teenage children, as well as spousal or domestic partner support, and that her legal name be restored to Lauren.

The couple got married in 2005. ABC Audio has reached out to reps for Lauren Shriner and Weezer for comment.

The divorce filing caps a dramatic and eventful year for the Shriners, which included Lauren Shriner being arrested after allegedly pointing a gun at police officers amid an incident with the Los Angeles Police Department. She was initially booked for attempted murder before being charged with two firearm-related felonies.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Lauren Shriner was granted a mental health diversion, allowing her to avoid jail time.

Shriner and Weezer took the stage at Coachella just days after Lauren Shriner’s arrest.

Lauren Shriner also revealed in March she’d been diagnosed with cancer.
