More details are emerging on Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s wedding, which took place at Blake’s Oklahoma ranch on Saturday.
The Voice host Carson Daly revealed he officiated the ceremon — a fitting choice, given Gwen and Blake met on the set of The Voice back in 2014.
“It was incredible to be a part of such an important moment in their lives. The ceremony was a perfect blend of country and glamour, of course, just like Blake and Gwen,” Carson said on the Today show Tuesday.
Carson also divulged that Gwen wrote her own vows and Blake wrote a song for Gwen in place of vows, bringing everyone to tears. Carson shared photos on Instagram, writing, “Here comes the bride … so honored to get to marry two of my favorite people on earth. May God bless you guys in this new chapter of your lives. We love you!”
Gwen wore two custom Vera Wang gowns for her special day — one for the ceremony and one for the reception. According to People, the veil she wore for the ceremony was embroidered with her and Blake’s names, as well as the names of her three sons: Kingston, Zuma and Apollo.
The reception dress was adorned with two love birds symbolizing Gwen and Blake, and three birds representing her children. She paired both looks with stiletto cowboy boots.
Blake, meanwhile, mixed fancy with casual, pairing a tuxedo top with blue jeans on the bottom.
Britney Spears‘ lawyer is planning to resign today, TMZ reports.
Sam Ingham, who has been Britney’s court-appointed attorney during her conservatorship, plans to file legal documents asking to be dismissed. Sources tell TMZ that Ingham wants out because he’s upset that Britney told a judge last month that she never knew that she could ask for her conservatorship to be ended. Ingham maintains he’s always told Britney she could, but that she never wanted to.
While sources tell TMZ that Britney did tell Ingham she wanted her dad, Jamie Spears, removed from the conservatorship, she never told him she wanted to end the conservatorship itself. And because Ingham is legally required to inform Britney of her options — which he insists he did — he’s now angry that Britney claimed in court that he never provided her with this information.
As previously reported, Britney’s longtime manager, Larry Rudolph, has resigned, citing Britney’s plans to “retire.” In addition, the wealth management company Bessemer Trust has resigned from the conservatorship, citing Britney’s desire for it to end. In court, Britney called the conservatorship “abusive” and said it was causing her “way more harm than good.”
Sources tell TMZ that at the next court hearing, the remaining members of the conservatorship team will present evidence to the judge that contradicts some of the things Britney said in court.
After making an appearance on G Herbo’s new album, 25, Lil Tjay revealed he has a track with Dreamville artist Bas and label head J. Cole dropping this Friday.
The “Calling My Phone” rapper filmed himself riding around in a Bentley while listening to the unreleased track in a Triller video he shared on Instagram Monday.
“My body different stop…playing with me lol. ‘[The] Jackie’ dropping July 9th @bas @realcoleworld,” Tjay wrote in the caption.
According to another series of Instagram photos, Lil Tjay, Bas, and J. Cole linked up earlier this month to shoot what appears to be a music video for the unreleased track, which Tjay calls the “song of the summer.”
Queens-based rapper Bas signed to J. Cole’s Dreamville label in 2014. He released three studio albums and recently appeared on Cole’s album, The Off Season, which topped the Billboard 200 album chart in May.
Machine Gun Kelly‘s Downfall is continuing through the summer.
During a recent Instagram Live session, captured by a fan and posted to YouTube, the “Bloody Valentine” rocker revealed that he’s planning to release new music in August.
“I’ll be…getting ready for the next album rollout and this tour,” Kelly said. “I’m excited for the album. Me and Travis, we got back in, and everything’s just falling into place and I feel really happy with everything.”
Travis, we presume, refers to Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, who executive-produced MGK’s 2020 pop-punk album Tickets to My Downfall. Kelly will launch a headlining tour in support of the record in September.
Kelly’s been keeping the new music train rolling in 2021 with a number of one-off singles and collaborations, including “Love Race” featuring Sleeping with Sirens‘ Kellin Quinn.
Bruce Springsteen has won a lot awards during his long career, but an Olympic medal certainly isn’t among them. However, one of his children will have the chance to go for Olympic gold, silver or bronze in Tokyo this summer — The Boss’ daughter, Jessica, has been named to the U.S. Equestrian jumping team.
TeamUSA.org reports that Jessica, who is 29, is ranked 27th in the the world and will make her Olympic debut in Tokyo. She will be riding a a 12-year-old Belgian Warmblood stallion named Don Juan van de Donkhoeve.
Jessica, who lives in Los Angeles, began riding when she was just four years old. She’s finished in first place at several major competitions over the last few years.
The Tokyo Olympics, which were postponed from 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, are scheduled to run from July 23 through August 8.
Sure, Fast 9 proudly wears its ridiculousness on its sleeve, but social media took it to the next level over the weekend, with endless memes inserting Vin Diesel‘s character, Dom Toretto, into scenes from what seemed to be every film.
While members of Dom Toretto’s “family” launched themselves into space this time around, is it any stretch to think Dom could have taken on Thanos in Avengers: Endgame? Or perhaps tackled dinosaurs in Jurassic Park? Or helped young Kevin McCallister in Home Alone?
The running gag usually shows Dom in a t-shirt, wielding a shotgun, against which any foe is no match. It begins with a character from the film declaring, “Dom, no! That’s suicide!”
“A T-Rex is strong…” another picture showed. “But not as strong as family.”
An early example poked fun at F9‘s space scene, picturing Dom in his muscle car, flying wingman to Anakin Skywalker during the epic opening battle in Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith. “How are you in space?” Anakin asks. “You don’t need logic when you have family,” is Dom’s captioned response.
You get the idea.
As of Monday, “Fast 9 family memes” calls up some 43,400,000 Google search results. But who needs search engines when you’ve got family?
(WASHINGTON) — While Capitol Police are marking six months since the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol by touting changes the agency has made to better prepare for such incidents, Congress continues its push for further investigations into the deadly incident.
In a letter released by the Capitol Police Tuesday morning, Acting Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman paid tribute to the officers who lost their lives defending the Capitol in January and charted a path forward for the agency.
“We will never forget USCP Officers Brian Sicknick and Howie Liebengood, who died after the attack, nor the sacrifices of the nearly 150 law enforcement officers who were injured,” she wrote. “Throughout the last six months, the United States Capitol Police has been working around the clock with our Congressional stakeholders to support our officers, enhance security around the Capitol Complex, and pivot towards an intelligence-based protective agency.”
A Jan. 6 rally in support of then-President Donald Trump turned deadly after Trump encouraged his supporters to march to Capitol Hill, where Congress was meeting to certify Joe Biden’s election win.
Rioters breached barricades and security checkpoints, forcing Vice President Mike Pence and lawmakers to evacuate or shelter in place, temporarily disrupting the certification. Five people, including Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick, died during or after the riot, 140 police officers were injured and the Capitol building suffered approximately $1.5 million in damage.
Pittman touted changes the agency has made since then, such as increased information sharing and training.
She wrote that the U.S. Capitol Police have opened offices in Florida and California to monitor threats outside the D.C. area, with more offices set to open, and is working with Congressional oversight committees so the Capitol Police can immediately request assistance from the National Guard.
The National Guard, which was stationed at the Capitol since Jan. 6, left on May 24.
“Those are just some of the improvements the United States Capitol Police is making, with the support of our Congressional stakeholders, in the wake of the January 6 attack,” Pittman wrote.
The Justice Department has charged more than 500 people with actions related to the riot at the Capitol — with crimes ranging from misdemeanors to conspiracy.
The FBI is still on the hunt for the suspect who it says placed pipe bombs outside the Democratic National Committee and Republican National Committee the night before the riot.
The U.S. Capitol has seen an increase in physical security measures since the riot as well.
In a statement, Capitol police say they don’t discuss plans due to security concerns, but the outer permitter of the fencing that has been around the Capitol since right after the attack came down on March 24 and the remainder is slated to come down this week, sources familiar with the plan told ABC News.
The move comes as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi created a House Committee to investigate the events of Jan. 6 last week after Republicans in the Senate blocked the creation of a bipartisan committee to investigate the attack in a late May vote.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell pointed to investigative work being done by Senate committees, most notably a joint effort by the Senate Rules and Homeland Security, as evidence for why a bipartisan commission was not needed.
That joint effort yielded a 95-page report that found “significant breakdowns ranging “from federal intelligence agencies failing to warn of a potential for violence to a lack of planning and preparation by (U.S. Capitol Police) and law enforcement leadership.”
But the joint report was narrow in scope and did not examine events leading up to the Jan. 6 insurrection. Democrats called for further action, prompting Pelosi to form the select committee.
She tapped GOP Rep. Liz Cheney, who was stripped from her No. 3 leadership position in the House Republican conference due to her criticism of former President Donald Trump, to serve on the committee, along with seven other Democrats.
“We are very honored and proud she has agreed to serve on the committee,” Pelosi told reporters Thursday.
House Homeland Security Chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., will serve as chairman, which was widely expected.
House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy is allowed to appoint five Republicans to the committee, in consultation with Pelosi, who has ultimate veto power, but McCarthy has not yet named Republican members to the committee.
Blur and Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn has released another new song off his upcoming solo album, The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows.
The latest track is called “Polaris,” and is available now for digital download. It’s accompanied by a black-and-white performance video, which you can watch now on YouTube.
“Polaris” is the second Nearer the Fountain song to be released, following the title track. The whole album arrives November 12.
The Nearer the Fountain is the sophomore follow-up to Albarn’s 2014 solo debut, Everyday Robots.
That’s amore! Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde were photographed kissing and cuddling during their Italian vacation, Page Sixreports.
Page Six has the photos, which shows the couple on a yacht off the coast in Monte Argentario, a region in Southern Tuscany where they’ve reportedly been on holiday for the past week. Harry and Olivia — she directed the singer in the upcoming movie, Don’t Worry Darling — spent the afternoon on the yacht dancing, reading, smooching, embracing, sipping wine and swimming.
The two were also seen riding together in a dinghy, and since the “Watermelon Sugar” singer conveniently removed his shirt for the ride, there was no question it was him — his distinctive tattoos were on full display.
Last week, Harry and Olivia were spotted arm-in-arm in the town of Porto Ercole, where Harry went after wrapping his most recent film, My Policeman, in England. Olivia reportedly joined him there after her own visit to England, where her two children were staying with their dad, her ex-fiancé, Jason Sudekis.
Olivia, 37, and Harry, 27, have been romantically linked since January of this year, when they were spotted holding hands.
Paul Rudd has been known for playing pranks — for example, his years-long habit of playing the same clip from the 1988 movie Mac and Me whenever he appears on Conan to promote a new film — but he gets kudos for what comics call “commitment to a bit” for a gag he pulled on his pal Seth Rogen.
On Twitter, Rogen admitted that his 40-Year-Old Virgin co-star clowned him big time, but honestly, it’s not really obvious who got the last laugh.
“Once I was in the spa in a hotel in Vegas getting a massage,” Rogen recalled. “When I finished I turned over and to my shock Paul Rudd was massaging me. He saw me go in and convinced the masseuse to let him take over, thinking I’d notice immediately.”
It’s not known when the prank happened, but the story Seth posted immediately went viral.
“Suddenly Paul Rudd turning out to be my masseuse is the thing I want most in the whole world,” one person responded. Another wrote, “Seriously how do I get in on this prank?!”
