Limited-edition vinyl discs from Paul McCartney, Pearl Jam, The Who and Creedence Clearwater Revival are among the exclusive releases that’ll be available at independent record stores this Saturday, June 18, for the second of two 2022 installments of Record Store Day.

McCartney’s offering is a 12-inch vinyl single featuring two versions of his recent tune “Women and Wives,” which has been chosen as Record Store Day’s first Song of the Year release. The single features McCartney’s original version — which appeared on 2020’s McCartney III album — and alt-rocker St. Vincent’s 2021 remix of the tune that was included on the McCartney III Imagined record.

Pearl Jam is reissuing their 1998 concert album Live on Two Legs as a two-LP set pressed on crystal clear vinyl.

The Who are issuing an expanded 40th anniversary edition of their 1982 album It’s Hard. The two-LP collection features bonus tracks, and one orange and one yellow disc.

CCR’s offering is a 7-inch vinyl single featuring a previously unreleased performance of “Travelin’ Band” from an April 1970 concert at London’s famed Royal Albert Hall and a January 1970 rendition of “Who’ll Stop the Rain” from a show at California’s Oakland Coliseum.

This Saturday’s Record Store Day drop features over 75 titles in all, including releases from Collective Soul, Dio, Richie Furay, Peter Gabriel, Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band, ZZ Top‘s Billy Gibbons, ex-Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett, Halestorm, The Kinks, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, The Rolling Stones‘ Keith Richards, Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, and The Sweet.

Mod Sun has premiered the video for his latest single, “Perfectly Imperfect.”

The clip finds the “Flames” rocker taking a tour through London, a fitting setting for a song that has the lyrics, “I’ll never be as big as the Beatles/I could never sing like Adele.”

Toward the end, Mod is joined by a group of fans wearing homemade “Perfectly Imperfect” shirts.

“Perfectly Imperfect,” which dropped last week, will be featured on the next Mod Sun album, due out later this year. The follow-up to 2021’s Internet Killed the Rockstar is also set to include the track “Rich Kids Ruin Everything.”

Selena Gomez opened up about a past project that she says she’s “ashamed” of. 

Speaking in a roundtable discussion with actresses like Tracee Ellis Ross and Amy Schumer for The Hollywood Reporter, Selena aired her grievances when the group talked about being sexualized.

Schumer referenced how the Only Murders in the Building star was “sexualized at such a young age” and commended Selena for rejecting the pressure to look sexually attractive to grab attention.

“That’s really unfair,” Selena said of those beauty standards and admitted she now regrets following them when she was younger because they made her uncomfortable.

“I actually did an album cover and I was really ashamed after I did it,” the Grammy nominee confessed, but declined to identify which one. It is likely the “Wolves” singer is referencing her 2015 album, Revival, on which she wears nothing but black underwear in the sensual black and white glamor shots.

“I had to work through those feelings because I realized it was attached to something deeper that was going on. And it was a choice that I wasn’t necessarily happy that I made,” Selena continued, “I think that I’ve done my best, at least. I’ve try to be myself and I’m not an overly sexual person.”

“Sometimes I like to feel sexy,” she clarified. “But it doesn’t mean it’s for somebody else… It’s for me.”

Selena revealed that is why she is no longer on social media because she is tired of coming across digitally manipulated photos of women, which promote that same standard of beauty. “I can’t look that way… It’s not attainable,” she declared.

After teasing it online, Rod Stewart has now released the full, emotional video for his song “Touchline.” The song is a tribute to his late father, Robert, and how he passed down his love for soccer — or “football” as the Brits call it — to Rod, and how Rod has now passed it down to his kids.

In the video, we see footage of Rod through the years playing soccer, from when he was a teenager to adulthood. We also see him sitting on the sidelines coaching his two younger sons and posing with them wearing jerseys of their favorite team, Celtic F.C. There’s footage of Rod’s father and mother, and lots of family photos, as well.

“Touchline” is from Rod’s most recent album, The Tears of Hercules. When the album was released, Rod told ABC Audio it was an important song for him.

“It means a lot to me, that song, ’cause I idolized my dad,” Rod said. “He wasn’t a particularly talkative father but he was so encouraging.”

“Y’know when I went into the [music] business, and I’d failed as a footballer, he always encouraged me,” the star added. “Y’know, [he] never said, ‘Go and get a regular job.’ He said, ‘Stick at what you’re doing and I’ll support you.’ And he did!”

Rod will soon announce details of a special show he’s doing in Edinburgh, Scotland — the city his dad was from — in November. The show will also serve as a tribute to his dad.

New Music Friday features two dance-floor bangers and a new take on a song that’s more than 50 years old.

When Black Eyed Peas first teamed up with David Guetta, the result was the #1 smash “I Gotta Feeling.” When they first teamed up with Shakira, the result was the global hit “Girl Like Me.” Now, all three of those artists have come together on a new song called “Don’t You Worry,” from the Peas’ upcoming ninth album. There’s also a big-budget alien-themed video.

The latest release from Madonna’s upcoming dance compilation Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones is the “Ray of Light (Ultra Violet Mix)” by Sasha. The remix of the title track of Madonna’s 1998 album was #1 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart 24 years ago. There’s also a 4K HD remastered version of the video for the track. The 16-track streaming version of Finally Enough Love drops June 24.

Finally, Måneskin, whose hit cover of “Beggin'” proves they’re great at reimagining other artists’ songs, have put their spin on Elvis Presley‘s 1968 single “If I Can Dream” for the soundtrack of the upcoming movie ELVIS. The band’s Damiano David told NME, “The meaning of the song is very contemporary: ‘If I can dream of a better land/Where all my brothers walk hand in hand.’ It’s about uniting, it’s about peace, freedom and happiness, and it’s coming out at the right moment.”

“We’re really proud of what we did and to be part of this project,” he adds. “I have a feeling it’s going to be amazing.”

Congratulations to Pop Evil drummer Hayley Cramer, who got married earlier this month.

In an Instagram post Friday, Cramer shares that she and session drummer Siân Monaghan tied the knot in a ceremony that took place June 4.

“I still have to pinch myself that a dream I dreamed for many many years came true,” Cramer writes in the caption. “I am a wife! And I have a wife!!! To say I’m proud would be an understatement.”

Tagging Monaghan, Cramer adds, “WE DID IT! Mrs & Mrs Cramer Monaghan. Together we are stronger, together we drum up a storm, together we rock!”

“Beaming love and thanks to our beautiful family and friends and all who support us,” the post concludes. “Feeling all your love surrounding us on our day and throughout our life means everything.”

Avril Lavigne reflected on the single that helped cement Kelly Clarkson‘s place in the pop music world — “Breakaway.”

In a behind-the-scenes video about the single, which Avril wrote while creating her debut studio album Let Go, the Canadian singer explained how it wound up in Kelly’s possession.

“So I wrote this song and it didn’t end up on the album. It was an outtake,” Avril revealed. “It took on a life of its own when it went to Kelly and Kelly Clarkson’s had this huge career… It was one of her earlier singles.”

Kelly released “Breakaway” in 2004 when it was first included on The Princess Diaries 2 soundtrack. The song became such a hit, the American Idol winner reissued it as a single and renamed her sophomore album after it.

Looking back at the twists and turns life has taken the both of them in the years since, Avril remarked, “Time has flown by. It feels like a lifetime.”

The singer added it “felt fitting” to “do my own version” of the song to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Let Go.  Avril said it “brought back the memories of what the song was written about, which was taking a leap of faith.  Leaving a small town, going to the big city and following my dreams.”

The “Love It When You Hate Me” singer has since re-released Let Go as an anniversary edition complete with six bonus tracks — including “Breakaway.”  

In addition, Avril has teamed with Instagram for an augmented reality game lens based off her 2002 hits “Sk8er Boi” and “Complicated,” which fans can check out now on the app.

Blake Shelton’s Hollywood celebrity status will be cemented next year, when he receives his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The country superstar — who is also a coach on The Voice — is an honoree in the Recording category, along with Marc Anthony, Lenny Kravitz, the Jonas Brothers and many more.

The 2023 honorees by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce are receiving their stars under one of four categories: Recording, Television, Motion Pictures and Live Theatre/Live Performance. Artists in the 2023 class include Ludacris, Mindy Kaling, Ellen Pompeo and John Waters.

The new honorees will officially receive their star at some point during 2023. Dates have not yet been set for the star ceremonies.
