Fitz and the Tantrums have released a new single called “Sway.”

“Since the beginning, we’ve always set out to get people up on their feet, smiling and dancing when they hear our music,” says frontman Michael “Fitz” Fitzpatrick. “‘Sway’ felt like it had that special sauce when we were making it in the studio, and we’re already seeing the song work its magic when we play it live.”

You can listen to “Sway” now via digital outlets and watch its accompanying video streaming now on YouTube.

“Sway” is the first new song from Fitz and the Tantrums to follow the group’s 2019 album, All the Feels. Since then, Fitzpatrick released his debut solo album, Head Up High, in 2021.

Fitz and the Tantrums is currently on tour with St. Paul & the Broken Bones. They’ll launch a run with Andy Grammer in July.

The deluxe 50th anniversary reissue of Elton John‘s fourth studio album, Madman Across the Water, released in late 1971, hit stores Friday.

The collection is available now as a super deluxe box set featuring three CDs and a Blu-ray disc, a four-LP colored-vinyl package, a two-CD set and digitally.

The album, which peaked at #8 on the Billboard 200, yielded two singles — “Levon” and “Tiny Dancer.” Levon was the bigger chart hit, reaching #24 on the Billboard Hot 100, while “Tiny Dancer” just missed the top 40, stalling at #41 in the tally.

However, “Tiny Dancer” has gone on to become one of Elton’s most popular and recognized songs.

Madman Across the Water also includes the fan-favorite title track and “Indian Sunset,” which was later sampled on the Eminem-produced Tupac Shakur track “Ghetto Gospel.” That song topped the British charts for three weeks in 2005.

Madman was also Elton’s first album to feature contributions from every member of his backing band’s classic lineup — guitarist Davey Johnstone, drummer Nigel Olsson, bassist Dee Murray and percussionist Ray Cooper — while Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman played organ on three songs.

Among the goodies on the super deluxe version are demos, rarities, single edits, a live radio recording, two British TV performances and a 104-page book that offers photos, artwork, interviews and memorabilia.

To promote the expanded reissue, an animated lyric video for a previously unheard piano demo of “Tiny Dancer,” which is among the collection’s bonus tracks, has been posted at Elton’s official YouTube channel.

On Sunday, AMC launches its new thriller series Dark Winds. Based on author Tony Hillerman‘s “Leaphorn and Chee” book series, Zahn McClarnon and Kiowa Gordon star as a pair of Navajo police officers investigating a series of murders and a violent bank robbery.

The 1970s-set thriller series was produced by Hillerman fans Robert Redford and George R.R. Martin, whose book series A Song of Ice and Fire became the HBO hit Game of Thrones.

For Native Americans McClarnon and Gordon, apart from the thrill of working on a project based on beloved characters, the “Southwestern film noir” was a game changer for representation.

McClarnon, who is an executive producer in addition to playing the no-nonsense investigator Joe Leaphorn, explains, “We had two Native EPs and we put together a Native writing room, as well as Native directors and Native crew, Native actors and actresses.

“So it was exciting to be a part of something that was committed to allowing us to tell our own stories, to contextualize Tony Hillerman’s books through a Native perspective,” he says. “It’s an exciting time for Native representation in media right now.”

Gordon, who plays Leaphorn’s new deputy Jim Chee, agrees. “It’s an incredible and powerful thing to witness … It’s been years and decades and a century in the making, you know, when film first started the depictions of Native people,” he says. “It’s amazing.”

McClarnon says he “loves” his character, adding Hillerman’s best-selling series “did most of the heavy lifting.”

“I have … a wealth of material to draw from about Joe Leaphorn. All I had to do was put on the uniform and bring my own life experiences to that character.”

Dark Winds airs at 9 p.m. ET on AMC and streams on AMC+.

Britney Spears‘ wedding Thursday was quite the throwback moment for one of the guests: Britney’s pal Madonna.

As People reports, during the event at Britney’s home in Thousand Oaks, California, Britney and Madonna recreated their famous 2003 smooch at the MTV Video Music Awards, which scandalized the nation at the time. People has the photo, which seems to have been taken at the reception: it shows Britney, in a tight red Versace dress, smooching Madonna, who’s wearing a multicolored wrap dress.

But that wasn’t the only nostalgic moment at the wedding: Page Six has video of Britney and wedding guests Paris Hilton, Donatella Versace, Selena Gomez and Drew Barrymore attempting to perform Madonna’s hit “Vogue” while Madonna stands with them, reciting the lyrics.

The women awkwardly stand together as they chant, “Fellas that were in the mood / Don’t just stand there, let’s get to it / Strike a pose, there’s nothing to it / Vogue.”

Britney and her longtime boyfriend, Sam Asghari, tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Britney’s home nine months after announcing their engagement. Ahead of the ceremony, Britney’s first husband, Jason Alexander, allegedly tried to crash the wedding; police ended up arresting him for an out-of-county warrant.

Trump fires back at Ivanka, Bill Barr over Jan. 6 deposition testimony

(WASHINGTON) — Former President Donald Trump on Friday rebuked his own daughter’s deposition testimony played for millions to hear during the House select committee’s prime-time hearingdetailing its Jan. 6 investigation.

Posting to Truth Social — the social media network Trump launched after being kicked off Twitter — Trump continued to repeat false claims about the 2020 election as he mocked the committee’s work and lashed out at comments Ivanka Trump and former Attorney General Bill Barr made in videotaped depositions.

“Ivanka Trump was not involved in looking at, or studying, Election results,” Trump wrote after she said she agreed with Barr’s assessment that there was no amount of fraud sufficient enough to overturn his loss.

“It affected my perspective,” Ivanka Trump told the committee about Barr’s assessment. “I respect Attorney General Barr, so I accepted what he was saying.”

Trump fired back Friday that Ivanka “had long since checked out, and was, in my opinion, only trying to be respectful to Bill Barr and his position as Attorney General (he sucked!).”

It’s a shift in tone for Trump towards his eldest daughter, who served as a senior adviser in the White House, as did her husband Jared Kushner. Trump praised Ivanka’s work multiple times during his administration, calling her smart and intelligent.

Trump also once commended Barr, his second attorney general, as one of the “most respected jurists” in the nation. When Barr stepped down from his role as attorney general in December 2020, Trump said their relationship was “a very good one” and Barr had “done an outstanding job!”

Using recorded testimony from Barr and Ivanka Trump, as well as other Trump insiders, the House panel on Thursday night argued that Trump was aware of the fact that he lost but moved ahead anyway with a scheme to remain in power.

Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., placed Trump at the center of what he described as an “attempted coup” to try to overturn President Joe Biden’s electoral victory.

In one interview aired in the hearing, Barr recounted telling Trump the idea that the presidential race was rigged was “bull****.”

Barr said he “repeatedly told the president in no uncertain terms that I did not see evidence of fraud and — you know, that would have affected the outcome of the election. And frankly, a year and a half later, I haven’t seen anything to change my mind on that.”

Trump on Friday called Barr “weak and frightened” and denounced the committee once again as the “Unselect Committee.”

Teasing what else the committee learned in its 11-month investigation, Republican Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming said the public will soon hear testimony from former White House staffers who saw first-hand Trump’s reaction to the rioters.

Cheney said the testimony claims Trump expressed support for threats of violence against then-Vice President Mike Pence.

“Aware of the rioters’ chants to ‘hang Mike Pence,’ the president responded with this sentiment: ‘Maybe our supporters have the right idea. Mike Pence ‘deserves’ it,” Cheney said.

Trump denied doing so on Truth Social, writing he “NEVER said, or even thought of saying ‘Hang Mike Pence.'”

“This is either a made up story by somebody looking to become a star, or FAKE NEWS!” he added.

Last year, Trump told ABC News Chief Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl that he didn’t worry about Pence’s safety during the Capitol riot and thought he was “well-protected.”

“They were saying ‘hang Mike Pence,'” Karl reminded Trump.

“Because it’s common sense, Jon,” Trump responded. “It’s common sense that you’re supposed to protect. How can you — if you know a vote is fraudulent, right? — how can you pass on a fraudulent vote to Congress? How can you do that?”

Millions more bottles’ worth of formula set to ship into US in June

(WASHINGTON) — Millions more bottles’ worth of critically needed infant formula are set to touch down on U.S. shores later this month, as the Biden administration continues its push to replenish the supply on the nation’s empty shelves.

More than 3.2 million bottles’ worth of formula will be airlifted in on planes donated by Delta Airlines in the coming weeks, ABC News is first to report.

Those some-212,000 pounds of Kendamil infant formula, from U.K. manufacturer Kendal Nutricare, will begin shipping into the country beginning on June 20.

Donated Delta planes will shuttle those formula shipments from Heathrow Airport in London to Logan Airport in Boston and Detroit Metro Airport, a White House official told ABC.

Upon distribution, it will be available for families’ purchase at select U.S. retailers nationwide, as well as online, the administration says.

The newly announced flights are the latest in a lengthening list of formula shipments coming in through FDA’s exercised import discretion; in total, Kendal Nutricare has committed to export at least 54 million 8-ounce bottles’ worth to the U.S.

Friday’s announcement also comes on the heels of two other large shipments putting wheels down in the U.S. just a day before.

On Thursday, nearly two million bottles’ worth of infant formula came in from overseas: roughly 1.6 million 8-ounce bottles’ worth of Nestlé formula, greeted in Texas by HHS Sec. Xavier Becerra; and the first of several flights donated by United Airlines coming into Dulles Airport outside Washington, D.C., altogether are expected to bring in about 3.7 million 8-ounce bottles’ worth of additional Kendamil formula from the U.K., available at Target stores in the coming weeks.

It couldn’t come soon enough for so many American families still scrambling to feed their children amid the urgent supply crisis.

So far, cumulatively, the White House says it has secured commitments to import upwards of 127.5 million bottles’ worth. President Joe Biden, acknowledging the strain so many parents have been feeling, as well as political criticism from both Democrats and Republicans.

“There’s nothing more stressful than the feeling you can’t get what your child needs,” he said meeting virtually with formula manufacturers and members of his administration, saying his team will use “every tool available” to get more formula on shelves “as quickly as possible.”

“Still we have work to do,” Biden said. “But we’re making critical progress.”

Demi Lovato says “Skin of My Teeth” is their way of “owning my narrative” about past addiction struggles

Demi Lovato opened up about what “Skin of My Teeth” is about and why they wrote it in the first place.

Speaking to Billboard, the Grammy nominee explained they wrote that song in mid-January because they were tired of reading headlines mocking their addiction struggles.

“What happened was, you know, I did go back to treatment, and when I came out, I saw all of these headlines that were like, ‘Demi leaves treatment again!’ And I’m like, ‘F*** you, I’m going to write a song about that, and I’m putting that headline in the first line,'” they recalled.

News broke in early January that the singer privately underwent treatment to maintain their ongoing sobriety journey, following their near-fatal overdose in 2018. The news came a few weeks after Demi revealed in December that they cut alcohol and marijuana completely out of their life because they “no longer support my ‘California sober’ ways.”

Demi said of that time in their life, “So it just was owning my narrative — owning the fact that this is my story, and I’m going to tell it, and I don’t need anyone else to tell it. And in doing so, I think it made an anthem for people who struggle with addiction.”

The “Anyone” singer also teased their forthcoming album, HOLY F***, which comes out August 19. When asked if there are more songs like “Skin of My Teeth” on there, Demi said, “You’ll have to listen to the album to really get the feel.”

They added of their album, “I would say it’s rock, and then that it branches into different categories of rock. One song on there feels almost a little Southern rock, but I have songs that feel more hardcore than what people may be expecting of me.”

You can listen for yourself now via Rage’s Instagram.

Rage Against the Machine announced they were getting back together at the end of 2019, ending an eight-year hiatus. They’d planned a reunion tour for 2020, which, of course, got pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Two years later, the outing is finally set to launch July 9 in East Troy, Wisconsin.

ABC

Carrie Underwood’s new album, Denim & Rhinestones, showcases her love of all kinds of genres — including rock.

It’s no secret that Carrie’s always been a big rock fan. She’s shared the stage with legends like Axl Rose and Joan Jett, and she embraces her rock side once again with her new song “Poor Everybody Else.”

“I feel like at this point, all my fans know I have a huge love of rock music,” Carrie says in a new interview with Kelleigh Bannen for Today’s Country Radio With Kelleigh Bannen on Apple Music Country.

Carrie’s rock fandom dates back to her childhood, when she learned it from her older sisters. “They controlled the radio when I was 5 years old,” she notes. She also remembers being a “dance monkey” who performed on command for her teenage sisters.

“They thought it was funny for me to sing, like, ‘Smokin’ in the Boys’ Room’ [by Mötley Crue] as a 3-year-old, so I did,” she remembers. As the baby of the family, Carrie used to accompany her teenage sisters everywhere.

“And I was entertainment. I was dance monkey,” she continues. “I was dance monkey for their friends.”

Amazon Studios

Just a week after its third season premiere, the Emmy-nominated skewed superhero series The Boys is getting a fourth, Amazon Studios has announced.

The show’s new season kicked off with three episodes on Friday, June 3, with a fourth dropping Friday on the streaming service. The season will conclude Friday, July 7.

Developed by Seth Rogen and his partner Evan Goldberg, The Boys is based on the graphic novel series from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, and centers on The Seven, a team of super-powered people who are anything but super people, led by Antony Starr‘s Homelander.

Standing against them are The Boys, a collection of mortals, led by Karl Urban‘s Billy Butcher and Jack Quaid‘s Hugh Campbell.

In a statement, the show’s executive producer, Eric Kripke, said, “Speaking for the cast and crew, we’re so grateful to Sony, Amazon, and most of all the fans for embracing the show and allowing us to make more.”

He added, “We’re thrilled to continue Butcher and the Boys’ fight against Homelander and the Seven, as well as comment on the insane world we’re living in.”

Referring to a particularly graphic scene in the season’s first episode, featuring a character with Ant-Man-like powers, Kripke joked, “Also, this is the first time in history that exploding genitalia has led to further success.”

The show also spawned an animated spin-off, The Boys: Diabolical, which also streams on Amazon Prime.
