A new music video has been released on what would have been King Von‘s 28th birthday. On Tuesday, August 9, the rapper’s estate dropped the visual for “Get it Done” featuring OMB Peezy, one of 19 songs on his posthumous album, What It Means to Be King.

The video sees Von and Peezy meet up as a group of guys in the area plot to attack them. A few steps ahead, the observant duo manages to drive away in a Maserati before the men can act.

Von and Peezy are then captured flaunting wads of cash in the car and rapping their lyrics in what appears to be a remote building.

Von was hard at work before he was shot and killed outside of an Atlanta nightclub on November 6, 2020. He was celebrating the release of his debut album, Welcome to O’Block, just moments before the tragic shooting.

After he passed, his estate released What It Means to Be King, which included collaborations with G Herbo21 SavageFivio ForeignTee GrizzleyLil DurkMoneybagg Yo and Dreezy. He reportedly had over 200 unreleased songs at the time of his death.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, the EGOT-winning creator of Hamilton, is putting the musical phenomenon to work to support abortion access in the wake of the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Miranda has created Ham4Choice in collaboration with the online fundraising platform Prizeo for a “once-in-a-lifetime Hamilton experience” to raise “much-needed funds for organizations providing abortion access and reproductive health services.”

For a donation of as little as $10 given between August 9 and September 22, donors get a chance to win the grand prize.

The grand prize winner and a guest will be flown to Hamburg, Germany, to attend Hamilton‘s opening night on October 6. Before seeing the first German translation of the musical, the winner and their guest “will meet Lin-Manuel Miranda at an exclusive pre-show reception and attend the post-show celebration.”

From there, it’s off to London for another showing of Hamilton — this time in English — and a meet and greet with the cast there. A performance in New York City is next, as is memorabilia to commemorate their travels.

Hotel and airfare for the three-city tour is all included.

They add the more one donates, the more chances you’ll get to win — and “the more support will go toward funding abortion access and care.”

In a statement, Miranda noted, “We are devastated by the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling eliminating the right to abortion which has been a right since 1973. … We’re stronger when we work together. We can stand up for every person’s right to make decisions about their own body and their own lives. Join Hamilton & Friends in the fight for reproductive access and reproductive choice today.”

Jon Bon Jovi and football have long gone hand in hand: He once owned Arena Football League champions Philadelphia Soul; he and others unsuccessfully tried to buy the Buffalo Bills in 2014; and he’s also a pal of Patriots owner Robert Kraft. So maybe it wasn’t so odd that he was seen at Notre Dame football training camp Sunday giving the first team a pep talk.

Jon, whose son Jesse Bongiovi once played for the Irish, gave the team some good advice, reports Notre Dame Insider. Senior lineback Jack Kiser told the publication, “Him being a Notre Dame parent, the first thing he said was, ‘Thank your parents.’ But then he just talked about, ‘Live in the moment. Don’t take this for granted. So, just enjoy every day, and the dog days of camp are not too bad.’”

Kiser also said that Jon reminded the players that never again will they “be around a group of 100 … guys that we consider our brothers, our closest friends.” Jesse, who was also there, echoed what his dad said and told the players, “Just keep those relationships going,” according to Kiser.

Jon also made a cameo in the video the team tweeted out, featuring the team attempting to sing “Livin’ on a Prayer.”

Lainey Wilson has a new single coming and it sounds pretty sweet.

On Monday, the singer revealed that her new single, “Watermelon Moonshine,” will be released Friday. In a clip of the song posted on Instagram, Lainey teases the lyrics that associate young love with the libation.

“I was his and every bit of that boy was mine/Too young to know what love was/We were learnin’ on a sweet buzz/There’s never nothin’ like the first time/Mine’s always gonna taste like/Watermelon moonshine,” she sings in the chorus.

“Not to be dramatic, but could this be a new single coming next week?” a fan asked, with Lainey replying, “sure is. #watermelonmoonshinewill be out Friday and there’s more big news coming then too,” adding #bellbottomcountry and #countrywithaflare.

The singer recently hit pause on touring to be with her father, who is experiencing health issues. She resumed her live shows last week.

“A weekend out west – watermelons, birthday wishes, a little dancin’, a little more rock ’n roll, and a lot of hearts singin’ along with me in honor of my Deddy’s tough like a truck spirit,” she says. “Especially grateful for y’all’s voices and prayers this weekend.”

The “Things a Man Oughta Know” singer has tour dates scheduled through November.

New monkeypox vaccine strategy underway to increase availability

(WASHINGTON) — The Biden administration is moving forward with a plan to increase the U.S. monkeypox vaccine supply by as much as five times.

In an announcement Tuesday, Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra said he issued a determination, made possible by the public health emergency declared last week, that will allow the Food and Drug Administration to authorize changing the method of injection for the vaccines.

The new approach would produce up to five more doses from each vial by using an injection method that requires less vaccine per shot.

The vaccine would be injected into the second layer of the skin, just below the first, visible layer. Most routine vaccinations are given as intramuscular or subcutaneous shots, which go deeper.

But health experts said the vaccine given intradermally — just under the skin — could be as effective against monkeypox.

“Today’s action will allow FDA to exercise additional authorities that may increase availability of vaccines to prevent monkeypox while continuing to ensure the vaccine meets high standards for safety, effectiveness and manufacturing quality,” Becerra said in a press release.

In another release, FDA Commissioner Robert Califf said the decision was based on a 2015 study and historical data on the smallpox vaccine, which was once administered intradermally.

The FDA issued an emergency use authorization that allows healthcare providers to move forward with administering the vaccine using the new method. The emergency use authorization also allows children under 18 who are at high-risk of monkeypox to get the vaccine.

“In recent weeks the monkeypox virus has continued to spread at a rate that has made it clear our current vaccine supply will not meet the current demand,” Califf said in a statement.

“The FDA quickly explored other scientifically appropriate options to facilitate access to the vaccine for all impacted individuals. By increasing the number of available doses, more individuals who want to be vaccinated against monkeypox will now have the opportunity to do so,” he said.

Dr. Dan Barouch, the director of the Center for Virology and Vaccine Research at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, told ABC News the intradermal method “is very effective because there are a lot of immune cells just under the skin, and often lower doses are needed compared with intramuscular vaccination.”

The same technique is already used in tuberculin skin tests, also called a PPD test. More recently, the influenza vaccine against the H1N1 strain that caused a pandemic in 2009 was tested intradermally in many research studies and was shown to be just as effective at one-fifth the dose of the intramuscular shot.

The announcement comes as many state and local officials have been raising the alarm that there are not currently enough monkeypox vaccines to address the emerging crisis.

Between 1.6 and 1.7 million Americans are currently eligible for a vaccine, according to estimates by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

But the U.S. only has enough vaccines to reach around one-third of those people over the next two months, under the current method that doesn’t allow doses to be stretched.

The U.S. has secured a total of 6.9 million doses for an expected delivery of May of 2023, according to Health and Human Services, but to date, 1.1 million of those vaccines have been made available to states for ordering — and because the doses are currently authorized as two-shot regimens, that total only covers about 550,000 people.

This authorization, however, could mean that far more people can be vaccinated with those doses.

It’s part of a heightened approach rolled out by the recent declaration of a public health emergency over the monkeypox outbreak, which Health and Human Services Sec. Xavier Becerra announced last week following widespread calls from health officials and activists across the country.

Globally, more than 30,000 cases of monkeypox have now been reported, including nearly 9,000 cases in the U.S. — the most of any country. All but one U.S. state — Wyoming — has now confirmed at least one positive monkeypox case.

The majority of cases in the current monkeypox outbreak have been detected in gay, bisexual or other men who have sex with men. However, health officials have repeatedly stressed that anyone can contract the virus and there is currently no evidence it is a sexually transmitted disease.

(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) — Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the murders of four Muslim men in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Investigators tracked down the Volkswagen sedan with tinted windows allegedly driven by the suspect in the most recent homicide, the Albuquerque Police Department announced Tuesday afternoon.

The driver of the car has been detained and is the “primary suspect” for all four murders, police said.

The most recent murder occurred on Friday, when Naeem Hussain, a 25-year-old native of Pakistan, was found dead from a gunshot wound on Friday near Truman Street and Grand Avenue in Albuquerque’s Highland Business neighborhood, police said.

Mohammad Ahmadi, a Muslim man from Afghanistan, was killed outside a business he ran with his brother last November, police said.

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has sent additional state police to provide support to the Albuquerque Police Department and FBI, she announced on Saturday.

The community has “never gone through anything like this before,” Ahmad Assed, president of the Islamic Center of New Mexico, said during a press conference Saturday, Albuquerque ABC affiliate KOAT reported.

“This is really a surreal time for us. We’re in fear of the safety of our children, our families,” Assed said.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.

If you’re wondering when Megan Thee Stallion is going to drop some new music, the rapper says “it’s almost that time.” To hype fans for what’s to come, she dropped a cinematic teaser titled Traumazine.

Set at a funeral, the trailer captures Meg donning all black as she first walks through a crowd of people also dressed in all-black attire and straight to a casket, where she places some flowers. That’s followed by Meg dressed all in white; she stops halfway down the aisle and looks up to the camera. The clip then comes to a close and the word “Traumazine” is displayed on the screen.

Fans may recognize the term, which Megan previously defined as “the chemical released in the brain when it is forced to deal with painful emotions caused by traumatic events and experiences.” It’s not clear whether the word is the name of an upcoming album or single, but she’s been alluding to an entire body of art the last few days.

In Instagram Stories shared earlier this month, Meg wrote, “So happy abt my album. It’s finished,” adding, “It’s honest, it’s me, it’s real” and “it’s for the hotties.”

More recently, she said the album, which features “some of the BADDEST women,” has her jerking “between feeling mean af and sexy af.”

No release date has been set, but fans can watch Meg’s newly released LA Leakers freestyle in the meantime.

Johnny Depp will remain one of the faces of Dior.

The actor, whose partnership with the fashion line via its Sauvage fragrance remained intact throughout his headline-grabbing divorce and subsequent legal drama, has reportedly re-upped his contract with Dior for what TMZ is calling a seven-figure deal.

Dior’s decision to stand by Depp, even before a Virginia jury in June handed him a legal victory in his defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard, has paid off for the iconic fashion label.

The Wall Street Journal reports sales for Sauvage — which was already a top seller, promoted in commercials starring Depp since 2015 — actually boomed during the trial.

A full-length spot of the former Pirates of the Caribbean star and Hollywood Vampires guitarist shredding to “Wild Thing” has been viewed more than 117,440,000 times on YouTube since it debuted last October.

Meanwhile, a new Dior Instagram photo of Depp, guitar in hand, has generated more than 1.3 million views and counting. The caption reads in part, “Fearless yet human, just like Sauvage.”

The post also generated lots of fan love for the actor, and for the company for sticking by him. “Thank you Dior,” one user commented.

Olivia Newton-John had been fighting cancer for years, but it was only in the past few days that it became obvious that she might die, her niece says.

Totti Goldsmith, the daughter of Olivia’s late sister, Rona, told Australian TV show A Current Affair that her aunt’s death was “not a shock,” adding, “We’ve known how sick she’s been, especially the last five days.”

“It wasn’t just the cancer that got her, it was other complications, being in a hospital and with a very susceptible immune system,” Goldsmith continued. “She got secondary infections. She really went down[hill] in the past five, six days.”

And while Olivia had used cannabinoids to manage her pain, Totti revealed, “later on it wasn’t enough. She’s really struggled with a lot of pain.”

Totti added that she’d FaceTimed Olivia two days ago and essentially said her goodbyes. Reflecting on her mortality, Totti recalled that Olivia told her a few years ago, “I’m not afraid [of dying]. I’ve done more in my life than I could have ever imagined.”

“She was deeply, deeply passionate about what she could give back to this planet, and she did,” Totti added. She also said Olivia’s family will accept Australia’s offer to give the beloved star a state funeral, adding, “I think Australia needs it.”
