Imagine Dragons will kick off 2023 with a hometown benefit concert.
Dan Reynolds and company have announced a show taking place January 5 in Dolby Atmos at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas. The private performance will raise money for ID’s Tyler Robinson Foundation, which supports families affected by pediatric cancer, as well as other Vegas charity organizations.
The audience for the concert will be made up of those who work for and are supported by those organizations. Dolby and Park MGM will also be giving away a limited number of tickets on social media.
“We are so excited to be partnering with Dolby to put on this special concert in Dolby Atmos benefiting TRF and local charities,” Reynolds says. “It’s going to be an incredible night with our fans and TRF.”
Imagine Dragons also supports the Tyler Robinson Foundation with the annual Rise Up Gala, which features a unique acoustic performance. The 2022 edition took place in September.
David Byrne is ready to help America ring in the new year. Rolling Stone reports the Talking Heads frontman has just been added to NBC’s Miley Cyrus-hosted New Year’s Eve special, Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party.
Byrne joins previously announced performers Latto, Sia, Rae Sremmurd, Liily and Fletcher.
Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, which will be co-hosted by newly inducted Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Dolly Parton and air live from Miami,kicks off at 10:30 p.m. ET on December 31. The show will feature special appearances by Saturday Night Live’s Chloe Fineman, Sarah Sherman and comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy.
ZAYN is reportedly working on a fourth studio album, and had a sly way of letting fans know about it.
The former One Direction singer quietly updated his official Spotify bio by adding one more line at the end. It reads, “ZAYN is currently working on his highly anticipated fourth studio album.”
No further information, such as potential album titles or release dates, was shared.
Whenever it arrives, the new offering will follow ZAYN’s third studio effort, Nobody Is Listening, which he released in January 2021. Unfortunately, his ongoing drama with ex Gigi Hadid at the time may have overshadowed the album’s release, as it only enjoyed moderate success in sales and on the charts. It peaked in 44th place on the Billboard 200 albums list and in 17th place on the U.K. version of the chart.

Rick Singer, mastermind of the college admissions cheating scheme known as “Varsity Blues” that involved Hollywood stars Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, deserves to spend six years in prison, federal prosecutors said Wednesday night in a sentencing memorandum, far exceeding the six-month sentence the defense sought.
The scandal saw wealthy people, including Huffman and Loughlin, use Singer’s expertise to fraudulently get their children into sought-after colleges.
“Singer was the architect of a massive, decade-long scheme to use fraud and bribery to secure the admission of high school students to elite colleges and universities across the country,” prosecutors wrote, calling his scheme “Staggering in scope” and “breathtaking in its audacity.”
The government acknowledged Singer’s cooperation helped lead to the convictions of more than 50 defendants, including the aforementioned stars. However, they also noted, “His corruption and manipulation of others were practically limitless,” calling him, “far and away the most culpable of the Varsity Blues defendants…and…therefore deserving of the longest sentence…”
Prosecutors said Singer should also pay restitution to the Internal Revenue Service in the amount of $10,668,841 and forfeit more than $3 million in cash and assets worth more than $5 million.
Huffman was ultimately sentenced to 14 days in prison and served 11 after pleading guilty in the scandal. Loughlin and her designer husband, Mossimo Giannulli, pleaded guilty in May of 2020 after paying $500,000 to get their two daughters into the University of Southern California as crew recruits, when neither child participated in the sport.
Loughlin pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and served two months behind bars. Giannulli was sentenced to five months in prison with an additional two years of supervised release, in addition to a $250,000 fine and community service.
(WASHINGTON) — The House Jan. 6 committee has formally withdrawn its subpoena of former President Donald Trump as the investigation comes to an end days before the next Congress, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.
The chairman of the committee, Rep. Bennie Thompson, informed Trump’s lawyers of the decision in a letter on Wednesday — citing the “imminent end” of the panel’s work.
“As you may know, the select committee has concluded its hearings, released its final report and will very soon reach its end,” Thompson, D-Miss., wrote. “In light of the imminent end of our investigation, the select committee can no longer pursue the specific information covered by the subpoena.”
The committee subpoenaed Trump in October, ordering him to turn over documents by Nov. 4 and to appear for one or several days of deposition under oath beginning on Nov. 14.
“We recognize that a subpoena to a former President is a significant and historic step,” Thompson and Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney, the committee’s vice chair, wrote in a letter to Trump at the time. “We do not take this action lightly.”
Trump sued to block the subpoena, with his attorneys calling it “invalid” — because they said it did not further a legislative purpose — as well as overly broad and an attack on his First Amendment rights.
The suit essentially froze the issue, which has not yet been ruled on by a judge.
This week’s withdrawal, as the House’s Jan. 6 probe winds down, was expected given that the committee will officially expire on Dec. 31 and there is no more time to litigate these matters.
In a statement on Truth Social, Trump incorrectly claimed that the committee “probably [withdrew it] because they knew i did nothing wrong, or they were about to lose in court.”
The panel has withdrawn a number of subpoenas as their work concludes.
(ROME) — A day after news emerged that Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI’s health had worsened within a few hours, a Vatican official updated Thursday that he “is absolutely lucid and alert.”
“Although his condition remains serious, the situation at the moment is stable,” Holy See Press Office Director Matteo Bruni told reporters.
The Vatican also renewed a call to pray for the former pope from the current pope.
On Wednesday, Bruni said “the situation at the moment remains under control and is constantly followed by doctors,” adding that he could “confirm that in the last few hours there has been an worsening of his condition due to advancing age.”
The comments came after Pope Francis asked for prayers in his morning audience for Benedict, who is 95.
“I ask to all of you a special prayer for the Pope Emeritus Benedict, who, in silence, is sustaining the church,” the pope said.
Francis visited his predecessor, who resigned in 2013, in the Mater Ecclesiae Monastery later in the day, Bruni said Wednesday.
“We join him in praying for the Pope Emeritus,” Bruni said.
The Vatican last released video footage of Benedict in August, when the newest cardinals visited with him as part of a tradition that’s been ongoing since Francis became pope.
Benedict’s condition reportedly had worsened in the days before Christmas, according to Italian news agency ANSA, which cited “qualified sources.” ANSA reported Benedict had begun to suffer from “respiratory problems” in the days before the holiday.
Benedict spent Christmas at his residence in the Vatican at the former Mater Ecclesiae Monastery, where a Christmas mass was celebrated for him in the little chapel in his home, ANSA reported.
(NEW YORK) — One reporter decided to get personal on air in order to give hope to others who may need it.
Diane Pathieu said she was told her husband Nick Adamski only had a year to live. That was two years ago.
Pathieu, who is a reporter with Chicago ABC affiliate WLS-TV, shared her family’s journey from a terminal brain cancer diagnosis to remission for others who might be facing a “hopeless diagnosis.”
In December 2020, unbeknownst to Pathieu, who was anchoring the morning news, her husband suffered a seizure due to a sudden brain bleed while at home alone.
They later received “the devastating news” that Adamski was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma, a cancerous and aggressive brain tumor.
“When a doctor says to you that your spouse has brain cancer, when he’s never had a single sign of anything before, it really just was so unbelievable to me,” Pathieu told ABC News’ Good Morning America.
Pathieu said her husband underwent emergency surgery to remove the glioblastoma, followed by over 40 days of chemotherapy and radiation. Despite the aggressive regimen, Pathieu said the cancer returned.
“That’s when he was given this expiration date and was told he only had 12 to 14 months to live,” said Pathieu, pointing to her husband beside her and adding, “I think that’s when for you, you said, ‘Oh heck no.'”
Pathieu and Adamski sought a second opinion at Northwestern Medicine, where they said doctors discovered Adamski’s tumor had specific gene mutations, one being FGFR-TAC3 fusion, which might respond to treatments that target those exact mutations.
The doctors performed methylation profiling as well as genetic testing, where they took the genetic fingerprint of Adamski’s tumor to better identify how to treat it precisely.
The tests revealed that Adamski may most likely respond best to a drug normally used to treat metastatic bladder cancer.
“In 17 hours, [the doctor] called me back and said, ‘We have a treatment for you,'” said Adamski. “It just felt like fate. It felt like a prank phone call. It was a good feeling, and it still is today.”
Adamski said that after just a few days of treatment, his tumor began to shrink.
Within a few months of treatment, Adamski was in remission.
Although some of the side effects of the treatment were rough, Pathieu and her husband said it was well worth it.
“To wake up every morning and say, ‘I’m still here,’ I’ll take all of it. That’s fine with me,” said Adamski. “I’ll take everything they throw at me as long as I’m still breathing.”
Pathieu said that the cutting-edge treatment and what she described as her husband’s “positive mental attitude” saved his life.

On Wednesday, Harry’s mom, Anne Twist, posted a slideshow titled “Christmas 2022.” In addition to some shots of decorations and a table laden with a delicious-looking dinner, she was also nice enough to post a photo of herself posting with a smiling Harry, his sister Gemma and her boyfriend, Michal Mlynowski.
In the pic, Harry’s bundled up in a puffer coat and blue hoodie, wearing sunglasses and a claw clip in his hair.
Appreciative fans expressed their gratitude to Anne in the comments, writing, “Thank you Anne for blessing us with a harry update,” “Thank you for your service,” and “Everybody say ‘thank you Anne!’”
Harry gets back to work starting January 26 with three shows in Inglewood, CA, and then it’s off to Australia, New Zealand and Asia for the next leg of his Love on Tour trek.
A missing person report has been filed for rapper Theophilus London by his familyon Wednesday.
According to a press release issued by the Los Angeles Police Department, London, 35, was last seen on October 15 in the “Skid Row” area of Los Angeles and his family members “lost complete contact” with him that month.
Police are currently investigating the case and are working to locate London. They are also asking for the public’s help and urging anyone with information to come forward. Additionally, many on social media are using the hashtag #FindTheo to spread awareness about the case.
London, whose birth name is Theophilus Musa London, is a popular artist known for his unique blend of hip-hop and electronic music. He burst on the scene in 2009 with his single “Humdrum Town,” and two years later his debut album Timez Are Weird These Days was released. He’s also collaborated with big names like Kanye West for the songs “All Day” and “Can’t Stop,” Tame Impala, and others.

The sequel to 1986’s Top Gun, once again starring Tom Cruise, hit the streaming service on December 22 and quickly shattered Sonic the Hedgehog’s previous premiere weekend viewership record by 60%. Paramount has not released specific viewership numbers for either film.
