In a behind-the-scenes post to Instagram, Selena Gomez revealed that none other than Oscar winner Meryl Streep has joined the cast of Hulu’s hit Only Murders in the Building.
The bit opens with Selena flanked by cast members Steve Martin and Martin Short. “What are we shooting?” she asks, smiling, before answering: “Season 3!”
“The gang is back,” she continues, panning her selfie video to reveal fellow cast member Andrea Martin waving her hellos.
“Can this honestly get any better?” Selena asks, to which another pan reveals Paul Rudd, who says, “Well, I do think it can get a little bit better.”
Selena answers, “What do you mean?” before Streep pops up behind her.
“Steve, do you need a pillow?” she asks Martin, who graciously accepts some support behind his back. “Marty, do you need anything?” the legendary actress asks, to which Short replies, “Just the tea I asked for a half hour ago.”
Selena says she’s fine, then finishes the video with a genuine OMG face.
There’s no debut date yet for the third season of the Emmy-nominated show, but it should drop later this year.
Zachary Levi opened up to fans on social media about his father’s battle with thyroid cancer.
The Shazam! actor, 42, took to Twitter on Monday to respond to a fan who had asked where he was. He said he was at his dad’s side in a hospital room.
“He’s not doin so hot right now. The thyroid cancer just won’t quit, and is slowly overtaking his trachea,” Levi shared, adding, “Papa D is not long for this world.”
The Tangled actor told a fan who inquired about his own well-being that he was “doin just fine” and spoke frankly about the reality of his father’s situation.
“Death does not sadden or frighten me,” he wrote. “It’s actually an incredibly powerful part of life. One that we’ll all reach one day. Where we get to go back to God, the source, and be surrounded by the highest vibration of energy, love.”
In a separate tweet, the Chuck alum asked fans to send prayers for his family, especially his dad.
“But for anyone out there that feels like rollin up some spiritual sleeves and prayin, send some up for my pops,” he tweeted. “Pray that he be as comfy and at peace as a man could get. And that he head home with no fear or regrets, knowing how loved he is.”
Levi’s tweets drew support from fans, as well as The Vampire Diaries co-creator Julie Plec, talk show host Sherri Shepherd, Glee favorite Jane Lynch and more.
Jimmy Buffett is all about the sun and sand, so it shouldn’t be too surprising that he’s spending some more time onstage in Florida this year. The singer just announced three new shows in the Sunshine State for his 2023 Second Wind Tour with his Coral Reefer Band.
The new dates include February 9 and 11 in Key West, Florida, and February 15 in Hollywood, Florida. Tickets for the new shows go on sale January 20 at 10 a.m. ET.

Ed Sheeran is back with a touching tribute to his friend Jamal Edwards.
“Thursday 8pm GMT,” Ed cryptically captioned an Instagram announcement, which sees him rapping in honor of his late friend.
The teaser video includes the lyrics, “Yo, Jam, this is a letter to you/ It’s been a while but it’s been hard for me to get in the booth/ Since we last spoke, I’ve become a father of two/ Trying to live life with a smile but that’s been harder to do/ Cuz all I wanna do is talk about you/ But these tears won’t let me talk about you/ Wish I had known that we’d be lost without you/ Therapy sessions digging deep in depression/ I’ve got a life full of blessings, but this just breaks my f***ing heart.”
The video, which sees Ed performing in an empty soccer stadium, abruptly cuts off. The audio is currently titled “F64 for SBTV.”
SBTV also shared the video announcement and wrote, “F64’s are back!!! Loading.. This is just the beginning.”
Edwards, a British music entrepreneur, died last year at age 31. He is credited with launching Ed’s career after featuring him on an acoustic A64 session on his SBTV channel in February 2010. The two had remained friends.
(TUSCALOOSA, Ala.) — The University of Alabama basketball player charged with murder over the weekend did not shoot the 23-year-old victim, but instead provided the handgun, according to a court document filed Tuesday.
Darius Miles, who has since been dismissed from the team, admitted to giving the weapon to Michael Davis, the alleged shooter, “immediately prior to the shooting,” according to a deposition filed by a Tuscaloosa investigator.
Jamea Jonae Harris, the victim, died shortly after being struck while sitting in the passenger seat of a stopped vehicle.
Miles was among two suspects arrested and charged with capital murder on Sunday in connection with a deadly shooting near the campus, authorities said.
Both the University of Alabama and its athletics department confirmed in separate statements that Miles, a 21-year-old student-athlete who played forward for the Crimson Tide, “has been removed from campus” and “is no longer a member of the Alabama men’s basketball team” in light of the charge against him.
“The University of Alabama’s utmost priority is the safety and well-being of the campus community. We are grieved by the incident that occurred near campus last night and extend our deepest condolences to the victim’s family and friends,” the University of Alabama said in a statement Sunday. “We are grateful for the quick and thorough response of law enforcement and emergency response teams, and we will continue to fully support the ongoing investigation.
“We were made aware of the recent charge against student-athlete Darius Miles; he has been removed from campus and is no longer a member of the Alabama men’s basketball team.”
“First and foremost, we extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the victim from last night’s incident,” University of Alabama Athletics said in a statement Sunday. “We were made aware of the recent charge against student-athlete Darius Miles, and he is no longer a member of the Alabama men’s basketball team. Athletics, in conjunction with the University, is fully cooperating with this investigation.”
The charge stems from a fatal shooting that occurred near the University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa early Sunday, according to a press release from the Tuscaloosa Police Department. Officers from both the Tuscaloosa Police Department and the University of Alabama Police Department were dispatched to the Walk of Champions at Bryant-Denny Stadium at approximately 1:45 a.m. local time, after a car had stopped there for help upon seeing a police-marked vehicle.
Inside the car, officers found a male driver who was apparently unharmed and a woman who had been shot dead. The driver told police that, while traveling in the area of Grace Street and University Boulevard, their vehicle had been shot into and he had returned fire in self-defense, possibly striking a suspect. He continued to drive until stopping for help at the Walk of Champions, police said.
Police identified the deceased victim as Harris, 23, of Birmingham, who was not affiliated with the University of Alabama.
After speaking with multiple witnesses and reviewing surveillance video, investigators identified a pair of suspects: Miles, who is from Washington, D.C., and Michael Lynn Davis, 20, of Maryland’s Charles County, who is not affiliated with the University of Alabama. Investigators located and interviewed both suspects, one of whom was found to have indeed been struck by gunfire and had a non-life-threatening wound, according to police.
Police subsequently arrested the two suspects and charged them with capital murder. Investigators believe the deadly shooting was a result of a minor argument between the victims and the suspects after encountering each other, police said.
“Darius Miles and his family are heartbroken tonight over the death of Jamea Harris,” Miles’ lawyer, William C. White, said in a statement. “While Darius has been accused of being involved with this tragedy, he maintains his innocence and looks forward to his day in court. Our firm’s own investigation is ongoing, and no further statement will be made at this time.”
Both Miles and Davis were booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond, according to police and online jail records.
University of Alabama basketball coach Nate Oats spoke to reporters on Monday, addressing Miles’ arrest and expulsion from the team.
“I just want to start today by offering our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Jamea Jonae Harris,” Oats said. “A young woman, daughter and mother who was taken away too soon from a senseless act.”
Oats called the situation a “tragedy” but did not answer any questions about the investigation.
Miles, who was in his third year with the Crimson Tide, played sparingly in six games this season. He had not played since a Dec. 20 game against Jackson State. However, Miles played in 30 games last season and started three, while averaging 5.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
Alabama is currently 15-2 and ranked No. 4 in the country.

Turns out we aren’t getting that Spice Girls reunion.
Hopes of a reunion sparked in December when Mel B aka Scary Spice flirted with the idea of the girls getting together for Glastonbury 2023 when chatting on The Big Narstie Show.
She had said, “I’ve got to convince the other four b****es to do it with me.” When asked if this was confirmation of a reunion, Mel downplayed expectations by remarking, “Stop it! Shut up! I never said that.”
Melanie C aka Sporty Spice set the record straight in a new interview with The Guardian. When asked of the rumored reunion, she confirmed, “It’s the question I hate the most, because the answer is as disappointing to me as it is to Spice Girls fans.”
“We would love to do Glasto. It just doesn’t fit with the current plan with the girls,” she continued. “We do want to get back onstage — everything is up in the air.”
Mel C also dashed hopes of seeing Posh Spice aka Victoria Beckham join the rest of the girls onstage. “She hung up her dancing shoes after the Olympics in 2012,” she revealed.
But, she’s still holding the door open to her former bandmate. “There’s definitely a bit of FOMO for her, so I’m a big optimist,” she said. “We were all at Geri [Halliwell‘s] 50th [birthday party] a couple of months back and Victoria was the first one on the dance floor requesting Spice Girls songs.”
Despite the disappointing news, Spice Girls fans are still holding out hope for a complete reunion in the near future.
Steve Vai has been reunited with one of his classic guitars that’s been missing for almost 40 years. In case you missed it, the guitar great shared on Facebook that he’s once again in possession of his Joe Despagni “Swiss Cheese” guitar that was stolen 36 1/2 years ago.
“I used ‘Swiss Cheese’ in the original ‘Yankee Rose’ video while I was with David Lee Roth, and stretched it out in rehearsals and was planning on touring with it,” he says, “but this guitar, along with 3 others, was stolen in Pasadena CA at Perkins Palace during rehearsals for the Eat Em and Smile tour.”
He adds that a man named Iván Gonzáles Acosta found the guitar in his grandparents’ home in Tijuana, Mexico, noting, “It seems the people that lived in his grandparents house before them purchased the guitar somewhere along the way and it was just stuck in the attic only to be discovered recently when they were reorganizing things.” After Acosta posted pictures of the guitar on social media, Vai associate Mike Mesker noticed it and arranged to have it returned to Vai, who met with Acosta.
“The condition of the guitar when I saw it was a shocker,” Vai says. “It’s as if it was put in the case and never played for 36 years. The colors are still vibrant and the neck is in great shape,” adding, “Receiving this guitar feels like an old friend has returned home after so many years to jam with me. I believe that we will make a wonderful Ham and Swiss sandwich together.”
Lizzo will pack her bags for New York this June to headline the 2023 Governors Ball.
The singer was unveiled as one of this year’s headliners alongside EDM act ODESZA and rapper Kendrick Lamar. She will take over the opening night of the festival. Other acts heading to the show include Lil Nas X, Lauv, Diplo, Kim Petras, FINNEAS, Giveon and PJ Morton.
The annual event will take place from June 9 to June 11 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York. Fans can sign up for early access to tickets this Thursday starting at 10 a.m. ET on the festival’s official website. A Citi card presale is ongoing now.
The festival has long called Randall’s Island Park its home, but it moved to Citi Field a few years ago. This year will mark its premiere at Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
Coi Leray has released the music video for “Players (DJ Smallz 732 Jersey Club Remix).”
The Nimi Hendrix-directed visual sees Coi and Smallz in the club and streets of New Jersey, surrounded by fans performing the song’s viral dance. It’s currently streaming on Youtube.
Coi dropped “Players” in late November, and has since updated DSPs with remixes from Smallz and DJ Saige.
Her version of the song, which featured a sample of Grandmaster Flash & Furious Five‘s“The Message,” garnered over 5 million views before it even dropped. Post release, the Jersey Club version’s gotten over 4.3 billion views and 1.6 million video creates on TikTok.
An ant-sized hero is getting a spot in the big game. Ad Age reports Paul Rudd will appear in character as Scott Lang/Ant-Man in what will be “the first non-alcoholic adult beverage to run a Super Bowl ad.”
The 60-second spot for Heineken 0.0 is apparently a follow-up to a campaign that started with a 15-second ad that ran on January 9, during college bowl football games.
The ad features one of Scott Lang’s six-legged friends bellying up to a bar, and looking at the bottle of the non-alcoholic bev and then the hero. “Oh, don’t judge me, Anton,” Rudd says in character, adding, “Look: Alcohol free.” He’s then distracted by an urgent email from the original Ant-Man, Hank Pym, and rushes off, saying, “Back to work!”
The campaign is of course tied to the February 17 release of Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and features the legend: “Now You Can, Before Saving the Day!”
Scores of people are taking part in a so-called Dry January, but data shows the trend is expanding past this month. According to data from beverage industry analysis firm IWSR recently cited by Molson Coors and quoted by Ad Age, the non-alcoholic beverage category is expecting nearly 28% growth in the 21- to 24-year-old demographic by 2025.
