Former Late Night host Conan O’Brien has packed his bags for a new Max travel series, the newly rebranded streaming service announced Wednesday.
Conan O’Brien Must Go is a four-episode series that’s currently in production. It “will feature O’Brien visiting new friends he’s met through his podcast, Conan O’Brien Needs a Fan, where he dives deep with listeners from across the country and the world.”
Or as the flame-haired funnyman put it, “My fans around the globe never asked me to visit them, so I did.”
A tease of the series opens with the Emmy winner, with a long beard and wearing full Viking armor, striding out before an assembly of similarly clad warriors and declaring himself Conan the Red. A few moments later, he admits, “Eh, I have to say, I’m really not feeling it,” and drops the act.
The tease then shows Conan surprising a fan at his home in Norway. The trip also sees him swinging in on a new pal from Thailand, sampling the country’s notoriously spicy street food, getting into the ring at a Muay Thai gym and goofing around with locals at his other destinations.
A release date for Conan O’Brien Must Go has yet to be announced.

Following the success of her Emmy-nominated show Selena + Chef on HBO Max, Selena Gomez has now signed on to host two new culinary programs for the Food Network. One of them will be a “celebration-focused series just in time for the holidays,” according to the network.
In addition, a new series planned for 2023 will offer a twist on the concept of Selena + Chef: Instead of famous chefs coming to her house, she’ll travel around and visit famous chefs in their kitchens, then learn to cook their most popular dishes on-site.
There’s no word yet on when either show will premiere. Selena’s other Emmy-nominated TV project, Only Murders in the Building, starts its third season August 8 on Hulu.
CMT has announced that it will exclusively premiere Carly Pearce – 29: Written In Stone (Live From Music City).
Airing on Saturday, May 20, the one-hour concert special will feature Carly performing nine songs from her critically acclaimed album, 29. Special guests Lee Brice, Ashey McBryde and Jenee Fleenor will join Carly on stage for duets, as well.
Additionally, throughout May, Carly Pearce – 29: Written In Stone (Live From Music City) will encore back-to-back with CMT Defining: Carly Pearce, where the singer takes a look back on her journey and rise to country stardom.

The National has announced the return of the band’s Homecoming Festival, taking place September 15-16 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The “Fake Empire” outfit will headline both days of the festival, which makes its return to the group’s hometown for the first time since 2018. The rest of the bill includes Patti Smith, Pavement, The Walkmen, Bartees Strange and Weyes Blood, among others.
“When we launched Homecoming in 2018, we were overwhelmed by the response from the community and by our renewed sense of connection to our hometown,” The National says. “It was such an exciting, memorable weekend and we’ve long hoped to bring it back. We’re honored to return to Cincinnati five years later and be joined by so many of our favorite musicians and friends.”

J. Cole doesn’t often pop up, but when he does, it’s for good reason. Following his Dreamville Festival in April, he made an appearance at Ari Lennox‘s show in London. He came out right in time for his verse on “Shea Butter Baby,” surprising both the singer and her attending fans.
“I can’t believe @realcoleworld and @dreamville surprised me at my London show like this,” she wrote next to a video that captured the special moment. “I love y’all so much.”
Cole’s manager and Dreamville co-founder Ibrahim “Ib” Hamad added further context to the surprise in a tweet, noting the rapper randomly informed him of his decision to attend Ari’s show. “Cole a different type a n****,” Ib wrote. “He won’t leave his crib for much but randomly hit me and be like I’m a come to london and surprise @AriLennox just don’t tell her.”
Ari’s show in London took place at the Eventim Apollo as part of her Age/Sex/Location Tour, which hits Amsterdam Thursday, before making its way to her hometown of Washington, D.C. The singer previously said the trek will be her last time hitting the road for her own tour.
“Age Sex Location will be my last tour,” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet in December. “I love my genuine fans so much and can’t wait to give you my all every night.”
Founding Saliva frontman Josey Scott is teaming up with the band’s current vocalist, Bobby Amaru, for a song in honor of late guitarist Wayne Swinny.
Speaking with the Battleline Podcast, Scott reveals he and Amaru are “gonna do a song together called ‘Horizon’ that is Wayne’s swan song.”
“It was the last song that Wayne played on,” Scott explains. “So I’m really excited to do that.”
Saliva had already recorded a new album when Swinny passed away. In a statement in April, the group announced they planned to release the album with the support of Swinny’s family. They also intend to keep touring and donate a portion of the money brought in from performing to Swinny’s daughter, Nikki.
Scott, meanwhile, has been touring under the moniker Josey Scott’s Saliva.
Swinny co-founded Saliva and was the last remaining original member in the group’s lineup. He died March 22 after being hospitalized with a brain hemorrhage.
Eric Clapton has just shared a new track from his upcoming limited edition box set, The Definitive 24 Nights, which drops June 23. The three-time Rock & Roll Hall of Famer is treating fans to his reggae-infused performance of the Bob Dylan classic “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.”
The box set features six hours of music from Clapton’s historic 24-night run at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1991. The set includes 35 never-before-released performances, with Clapton performing with three lineups — a rock band, a blues band or an orchestra conducted by Michael Kamen.
The Definitive 24 Nights will be released in a six-CD or eight-LP set. There will also be standalone versions of each genre — 24 Nights: Rock, 24 Nights: Blues and 24 Nights: Orchestra. All options are available for preorder now.
The new song release coincides with the global premiere of the concert film Eric Clapton Across 24 Nights, featuring 17 performances from the Royal Albert Hall run. It debuts in theaters Wednesday, May 17, with an encore screening on Tuesday, May 23. Tickets are on sale now.

At Disney’s Upfront presentation in New York City on Tuesday, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced that all the adventures of the man in the hat are coming to Disney+ on May 31.
The 1981 original, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, as well as 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and the spin-off television series The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones — formerly known as TheYoung Indiana Jones Chronicles — will all be available for streaming.
The debuts come ahead of the theatrical release of the final installment of the beloved franchise, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny onJune 30.

(WASHINGTON) — President Joe Biden on Wednesday said he is “confident” the U.S. will avert default, expressing optimism a crisis could be avoided as he left for a foreign trip even as debt ceiling negotiations were coming down to the wire.
“I’m confident that we’ll get the agreement on the budget that America will not default,” Biden said from the White House Roosevelt Room. He added, “We’re going to come together because there’s no alternative.”
Biden’s remarks come as he embarks on a now five-day trip to Japan to meet with G-7 leaders. The president was due to visit Papua New Guinea and Australia following his appearance in Hiroshima but canceled the back half of the trip to work on a debt ceiling deal.
The president said he’ll be in “constant contact” with his team while abroad and will be back in time for the “final negotiation.” He also teased a press conference upon his return on Sunday.
Biden, who has insisted raising the debt ceiling is nonnegotiable, made it a point to emphasize the talks are about contours of the 2024 budget.
“Not about whether or not we are going to, in fact, pay our debts,” Biden said. “All the leaders have agreed we will not default. Every leader has said that.”
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, holding a news conference on the Capitol steps with other GOP lawmakers just after Biden’s remarks, had a different take on the ongoing negotiations.
“The president and Leader Schumer have finally backed off their idea that they won’t negotiate,” McCarthy said. “They finally backed off the insane, unrational, unsensible idea that you just raise the debt ceiling.”
The nation is on track to be unable to pay all its bills sometime in early June, possibly as early as June 1, unless lawmakers raise or suspend the debt ceiling.
There were some signs of progress after Biden and congressional leaders met Tuesday afternoon at the White House.
McCarthy and Biden have appointed top staffers to negotiate a deal. Office of Management and Budget Director Shalanda Young and Steve Ricchetti, counselor to the president, will represent the White House in talks with Rep. Garret Graves, a Louisiana Republican and top McCarthy ally.
The group went to work late Tuesday night and will meet again Wednesday, Biden said.
One sticking point emerging in negotiations are working requirements for social programs. The debt ceiling and budget bill House Republicans passed in April would expand work requirements for some federal aid programs, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
Biden said Wednesday he will not accept any requirements that would impact people’s medical or health needs, but opened the door to other provisions.
“It’s possible there could be a few others but not anything of consequence,” he said.
Meanwhile, House Democrats on Wednesday moved forward with a discharge petition — a rarely used procedural tool that would allow them to bypass traditional rules — as a possible way to raise the debt ceiling absent a deal.
“Emerging from the White House meeting, I am hopeful that a real pathway exists to find an acceptable, bipartisan resolution that prevents a default,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., said in a letter to colleagues. “However, given the impending June 1 deadline and urgency of the moment, it is important that all legislative options be pursued in the event that no agreement is reached.”
