“Welcome To The Jungle” named Guns N’ Roses’ greatest song of all time

There’s no doubt Guns N’ Roses have a lot of great songs, and choosing which one’s the best isn’t an easy task, but Classic Rock magazine has taken a shot at doing so.

For its latest cover, the mag set out to name the band’s 50 Greatest Songs of All Time, with the results based on fan votes and industry polling, along with opinions from the writers and editors of the mag.

So, which song came out on top? Earning the honor is the band’s breakthrough hit, “Welcome to the Jungle,” from their debut album, Appetite for Destruction.

Coming in just behind “Jungle” is Appetite’s other hit “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” the band’s only number one single, followed by “Estranged” at #3, “November Rain” at #4 and “Rocket Queen” at #5.

Rounding out the top 10 are: “Paradise City” at #6, “Civil War” at #7, “You Could Be Mine” at #8, “Patience” at #9 and “It’s So Easy” at #10.

Luckily for GNR fans, they’ll have plenty of chances to see them perform these songs this year. The band kicks off a European tour on Friday, June 9. It hits North America August 5 in Moncton, Canada, with the first U.S. date happening August 11 in Hershey, Pennsylvania. A complete list of tour dates can be found at gunnroses.com.

Rise Against added to Hawthorne Heights’ Is for Lovers festival

Rise Against has joined the bill for one of Hawthorne Heights‘ Is for Lovers festivals.

The traveling event takes place between June and September across nine different locations: Nevada, Utah, Colorado, North Carolina, Iowa, California, Tennessee, Massachusetts and, of course, Ohio. Rise Against is playing Massachusetts’ Is for Lovers, taking place September 17.

Other artists on the Is for Lovers bills, which vary for each festival location, include Alkaline Trio, Yellowcard, Sleeping with Sirens, Atreyu, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Mayday Parade, Underoath and KennyHoopla. Hawthorne Heights will play each festival.

Lewis Capaldi cancels all his shows until June 24: “I need a moment to rest and recover”

In his recent Netflix documentary How I’m Feeling Now, Lewis Capaldi talked about his struggles with anxiety. Now, the Scottish singer is hitting pause on his touring schedule for the sake of his mental health.

In an Instagram message, he writes, “I’m going to have to cancel all commitments from now until I play Glastonbury on June 24th.” He goes on to explain that “the last few months have been full-on, both mentally and physically” leading up to the release of his new album, Broken By Desire to Be Heavenly Sent.

“I haven’t been home properly since Christmas and at the moment, I’m struggling to get to grips with it all,” he writes. “I need to take a moment to rest and recover, to be at my best and ready for Glastonbury and all the other incredible shows coming up so that I’m able to continue doing what I love for a long time to come.”

The singer goes on to say that he wants to spend the next three weeks being plain old “Lewis from Glasgow,” spending time with friends and family, and doing “normal life things that are an important part of me feeling better.”

He then apologizes to fans who’ve spent money on travel and hotels, writing, “The fact that you’re willing to come out and spend your time, money and love on these shows is beyond comprehension and I feel incredible lucky.”

“I’m getting all the help and support I need from the incredible people around me who I’m so grateful for,” he concludes. “I take none of this for granted and I can’t wait to be back doing it again.”

Cuba Gooding Jr. scheduled to appear in court Tuesday over alleged rape

Cuba Gooding Jr. is scheduled to stand trial beginning Tuesday in Manhattan federal court on accusations he raped a woman he met in a bar 10 years ago.

The actor’s civil trial is set to begin less than a year after he avoided prison by pleading guilty in a state criminal case that accused him of groping several women.

The woman who sued Gooding in Manhattan federal court said she met the Oscar winner in a Greenwich Village restaurant while having dinner with a friend. According to her lawsuit, Gooding invited the woman to the Mercer Hotel, where he was staying, for drinks and asked her to join him in his room while he changed clothes.

The lawsuit says Cuba put on music and stood in front of the hotel room door while he disrobed.

The woman said that as she tried to leave, Gooding “blocked her from the door and pushed her onto the bed.”

According to her lawsuit, the woman told Gooding “no” multiple times “but he wouldn’t stop” touching her before he “aggressively removed Plaintiff’s underwear” and raped her. He raped her a second time a short while later, the lawsuit said.

Gooding denies it and has said the encounter was consensual.

Three other women who have accused Gooding of sexual abuse will be allowed to testify at the trial, according to an order from the judge issued Friday.

“The prior acts are sufficiently similar to Plaintiff’s allegations because all involve sudden sexual assaults or attempted sexual assaults connected with the Defendant and victims’ presence in social settings prominently featuring drinking like festivals, bars, nightclubs and restaurants,” Judge Paul Crotty wrote.

Old Dominion unveils ‘Memory Lane’ EP cover + track list

Old Dominion has revealed the cover art and track list for their upcoming Memory Lane EP.

Due out June 23, the eight-track project features three as-yet-unreleased songs, including “Some Horses,” which fans can hear a snippet of on Twitter.

Earlier in January, Old Dominion dropped their four-song Memory Lane (Sampler). The title track serves as their current single, and is number eight and rising on the country charts.

Fall Out Boy, Hayley Williams contributing to Taylor Swift’s ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ album

Taylor Swift‘s upcoming Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) album is turning into an emo-palooza.

The pop superstar has announced that the upcoming rerecorded version of her 2010 effort will feature contributions from Fall Out Boy and Paramore‘s Hayley Williams.

“Since Speak Now was all about my songwriting, I decided to go to the artists who I feel influenced me most powerfully as a lyricist at that time and ask them to sing on the album,” Swift shares. “They’re so cool and generous for agreeing to support my version of Speak Now.”

Fall Out Boy and Williams will guest on the “from the vault” songs “Electric Touch” and “Castles Crumbling,” respectively.

Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) will be released July 7. It’s the third album she’s rerecorded, following Taylor’s Versions of Fearless and Red.

Days after it was reported that Kim Cattrall would appear in the Sex and the City spinoff series And Just Like That…, the star appears as a supermodel-turned-business mogul in the trailer to Netflix’s upcoming series Glamorous.

The show stars American Horror Story veteran Ben J. Pierce, also known as Miss Benny, as Marco, “a young gender non-conforming queer man” who gets the chance to work for Cattrall’s Madolyn Addison, who launched “one of the industry’s most successful beauty brands” just because “nobody thought I could.”

Marco soon discovers going from the makeup counter to corporate America isn’t so easy. “This job isn’t just glitter and glamour,” Cattrall warns Marco. “It’s hard work.”

Meanwhile, as Marco capers around the office, Madolyn’s son (Zane Phillips) thinks the new hire is a “bad influence.” He sniffs, “He’s gonna ‘yass kween’ us into bankruptcy.”

The streaming service teases, “It’s Marco’s first chance to figure out what he wants out of life, who he actually is, and what it really means for him to be queer.”

The show debuts June 22.

Rammstein issues statement amid sexual misconduct allegations against Till Lindemann

Rammstein has posted a new statement following reports of sexual misconduct allegations against frontman Till Lindemann.

Allegations first surfaced in May describing an incident that allegedly occurred during a party around the time of a Rammstein concert in Vilnius, Lithuania. At the time, Rammstein responded in a tweet: “With regard to the allegations circulating on the internet about Vilnius, we can rule out the possibility that what is being claimed took place in our environment. We are not aware of any official investigations into this matter.”

Since then, German outlets have reported on more allegations against Lindemann, and his book publisher, Kiepenheuer & Witsch, has severed ties with him.

In an Instagram post over the weekend, translated from German, Rammstein writes, “The publications of the last few days have caused irritation and questions among the public and especially among our fans. The allegations hit us all very hard and we take them extremely seriously.”

“We say to our fans: It is important to us that you feel comfortable and safe at our shows – in front of and behind the stage,” the post continues. “We condemn any kind of transgression and ask you: do not engage in public prejudice of any kind against those who have made allegations. You have a right to your point of view.”

It concludes, “But we, the band, also have a right – namely not to be prejudiced either.”

Jake Owen unveils Loose Cannon Tour

With a new album coming out, it’s only the natural next step for Jake Owen to go on tour, right?

Well, that’s exactly what he’s going to do later this year on his just-announced Loose Cannon Tour.

The 12-date headlining trek kicks off September 7 in Cleveland, Ohio, before concluding on October 28 in Rancho Mirage, California. Tyler Booth and sibling trio Daves Highway will serve as opening acts.

“I’m so excited to get back on the road and share all the new music from Loose Cannon with you,” shares Jake. “This collection of songs was made for the fans and I look forward to seeing everyone party and sing along at each show. Can’t wait to see y’all out there!”

Rick Ross’ second annual car show receives praise from authorities: “Everything has run very well”

Rick Ross‘ annual car show went down last weekend. Despite initial reservations, it was met with praise from Fayetteville, Georgia, authorities.

“Everything has run very well considering the amount of people and the small traffic ways we have here, and it’s because he hired a good team,” Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb told ABC affiliate WSB-TV. “This year, they started putting a lot of plans in place, listened to us, we listened to them.”

Unlike the 2022 event, which lacked communication with the county and blocked traffic, the sheriff said medics were able to move around with no issue, and noted that the car show served as an example of what can happen when the community works alongside law enforcement.

“We can get our medical equipment through here. I think it’s been good for the community as far as law enforcement because we’re getting to work together like we’ve never worked before,” Babb said. “So, it’s a good team-building exercise for public safety. Not just law enforcement but fire and rescue as well.”

Ross’ second annual car show took place Saturday, though many tried to prevent it from occurring. Residents upset with the traffic from last year’s event had filed a petition to end the show, and the permit had even been denied because of its noncompliance with the county’s zoning rules. As promised, however, Rick went on with the event, which featured performances from Gucci Mane and Meek Mill.
