Tyla, Future and Rema are among the stars tapped for the FIFA World Cup’s U.S. opening ceremony in June.
They’ll headline the Los Angeles show on June 12 alongside Katy Perry, BLACKPINK member and White Lotus actress LISA and Latin superstar Anitta.
“This opening ceremony in Los Angeles represents the extraordinary scale of what the FIFA World Cup 2026 will become,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino in a press release. “The lineup of artists reflects the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrancy of its many diasporas, highlighting the nation’s rich influence on music, entertainment and pop culture, while showcasing the power of music to bring people together across the country.”
The ceremony will begin at 4:30 p.m. PT, with stadium gates opening four hours before kickoff to give fans access to activations, rewards and more.
The LA event will be one of three opening ceremonies. Mexico City will kick off the festivities June 11 with performances by Latin stars J Balvin and Danny Ocean, among others. On June 12, Alanis Morissette, Michael Bublé and Alessia Cara will perform at a ceremony in Toronto.
The U.S. will face off against Paraguay in the opening match of the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will include 104 matches across 16 host cities. The final match takes place July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Two new bombshells are entering the villa.
Summer House star Ciara Miller has joined Love Island USA as the new cohost of the show’s companion series, Aftersun. She will now host the reality dating competition series’ aftershow alongside Tefi Pessoa.
Peacock made the announcement in a post on Instagram Monday. “We had to pull these two for a chat,” the post’s caption reads.
Love Island USA season 8 will premiere to Peacock on June 2 at 9 p.m. ET. It will once again take place in Fiji with Ariana Madix returning as host.
The series follows singles who go on a search for love while living in a Fijian villa. “Throughout their stay in a tropical oasis, Islanders will couple up to face brand new heart-racing challenges and bigger twists and turns than ever before,” according to season 7’s official synopsis. “Temptations rise and drama ensues as new ‘bombshells’ arrive, forcing Islanders to decide if they want to remain with their current partners or recouple with someone new.”
There is currently no word on who the new Islanders and bombshells will be.
Love Island USA Aftersun was previously hosted by The Traitors star Maura Higgins. Higgins and Miller are confirmed to be competing against each other on the upcoming season 35 of Dancing with the Stars.
In other Love Island USA news, its spinoff series Love Island Games has been renewed for season 3. Madix, who hosts the program, confirmed the news in a post on her Instagram Story Monday. She also shared an Instagram Story post about Miller and Pessoa joining the Love Island universe, writing, “welcome to the villa … can’t wait to show you around.”
Gracie Abrams had been teasing her next project with those initials, and now she’s revealed they stand for the title of her new album, Daughter From Hell. She wrote on Instagram, “My third album is out July 17. Hit the Wall this Thursday night. Whoa whoa whoa. Freaking out. I am so ready for it to be yours.”

Rostam has premiered a new song called “Hardy” featuring Clairo.
The former Vampire Weekend member previously worked with Clairo as a producer on her 2019 debut album, Immunity.
“‘Hardy’ is a song about looking forward and looking back,” Rostam says in a statement. “Ultimately, I hope it leaves you with some feeling of hope for the future.”
He adds, “I’m so happy Claire could make a guest appearance and sing her own section of the song— I have always loved the way her voice communicates optimism.”

(SEATTLE) — A student at the University of Washington in Seattle was found stabbed to death in a campus housing building, Seattle police said, and now authorities are searching for the killer.
The victim — a 19-year-old transgender woman — was found in a laundry room at about 10:10 p.m. Sunday, according to Seattle police.
“The circumstances leading up to the murder are under investigation,” police said in a statement on Monday.
Police said “officers are actively searching for the suspect” and they described him as a “black male with a beard, 5’6-8″ tall, wearing a vest with button up shirt, and blue jeans.” The university added the suspect is believed to be between the ages of 25 and 30 with a slim build and black hair.
The University of Washington issued an alert about the homicide at the Nordheim Court Apartments at 10:40 p.m. Sunday, saying, “If you are at Nordheim Court, stay indoors and lock doors and windows.” Around 1 a.m., the university said that the residents no longer needed to stay inside.
The university called the crime “deeply distressing” and said counseling is available. The university said the King County Medical Examiner will identify the victim in the coming days.
The police department said it urges anyone with information to call its Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.

The singer, born Abel Tesfaye, has just announced yet another leg of his ongoing After Hours Til Dawn Stadium Tour, which has been going on since 2022. This run, advertised as the final leg of the tour, will visit Asia, starting with a Sept. 20 date in Tokyo, before swinging through Jakarta, Singapore, Seoul, Bangkok and Hong Kong. The tour will wrap Nov. 4 in Kuala Lumpur.
Prior to the Asia dates, The Weeknd will be touring Europe and the U.K. this summer.
The tour has so far sold more than 7.5 million tickets and earned more than $1 billion, making it the highest-grossing tour ever by a male solo artist.
It covers The Weeknd’s albums After Hours, Dawn FM and Hurry Up Tomorrow.

Carlos Santana has extended his Las Vegas residency yet again.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer has announced eight new performances of An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live at the House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The new dates run from Sept. 16 to Sept. 27.
This year marks Santana’s 14th year headlining a residency at the House of Blues.
Various presales for tickets run from Tuesday at 10 a.m. PT until Thursday at 10 p.m. PT. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday at 10 a.m. PT.
Santana will return to the House of Blues for new residency dates starting Wednesday and running through May 24. He’s also set to launch a new leg of his Oneness tour, with The Doobie Brothers, on June 13 in Chicago.

(TALLAHASSEE, Fla.) — Attorneys representing the family of Florida State University shooting victim Tiru Chabba have filed a federal lawsuit against OpenAI and its artificial intelligence platform ChatGPT, alleging that the company could have done more to prevent the shooting.
The complaint, which was filed on Sunday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida, also names the shooting suspect, Phoenix Ikner, as a defendant.
According to ChatGPT logs released by law enforcement in Florida, Ikner allegedly consulted ChatGPT as he planned the attack and asked pointed questions about gun operations and media coverage. He even consulted the platform about the busiest time on the FSU campus, according to the logs.
Chabba’s family attorney, Bakari Sellers, said these messages date back about 18 months ago and include 16,000 different “disturbing chats.”
“This is the same person who asked, you know, how can he become infamous? He asked about the Columbine shooting. He asked about what time should he go to campus? What time are most people going to be there?” Sellers said, describing the alleged messages that Ikner sent to ChatGPT.
“He literally utilized open AI and Chat GPT as his co-conspirator, utilized it as a resource to carry out mass murder,” Sellers added. “There was nothing in place to prevent that from happening and so lives were lost. That’s the inherent danger, there has to be something in place to prevent that from happening.”
Drew Pusateri, an OpenAI spokesperson, told ABC News in a statement: “Last year’s mass shooting at Florida State University was a tragedy, but ChatGPT is not responsible for this terrible crime. After learning of the incident, we identified an account believed to be associated with the suspect and proactively shared this information with law enforcement. We continue to cooperate with authorities. In this case, ChatGPT provided factual responses to questions with information that could be found broadly across public sources on the internet, and it did not encourage or promote illegal or harmful activity. ChatGPT is a general-purpose tool used by hundreds of millions of people every day for legitimate purposes. We work continuously to strengthen our safeguards to detect harmful intent, limit misuse, and respond appropriately when safety risks arise.”
The lawsuit comes after Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced last month that the Office of Statewide Prosecution launched a criminal investigation into OpenAI and ChatGPT after prosecutors reviewed the chat logs.
“Florida is leading the way in cracking down on AI’s use in criminal behavior, and if ChatGPT were a person, it would be facing charges for murder,” Uthmeier said in a statement on April 21. “This criminal investigation will determine whether OpenAI bears criminal responsibility for ChatGPT’s actions in the shooting at Florida State University last year.”
OpenAI did not respond to ABC News’ request when asked about the probe by the attorney general.
The shooting, which took place on the FSU campus on April 17, 2025, injured six people and killed two people – Chabba and Robert Morales, both of whom worked for the university’s dining services.
Ikner, whose trial is set for October 2026, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and seven counts of attempted murder. He has pleaded not guilty.
