It’s not summer without Big Brother.
CBS has announced that season 28 of the hit reality competition series will premiere on July 9. The special 90-minute episode kicks off premiere week. It will be followed by the return of the show’s companion series, Big Brother: Unlocked, on July 10. Another 90-minute episode will air on July 12.
Big Brother follows a group of people who live together in a house without the ability to leave it or access anything about the outside world. The house has dozens of cameras and microphones that record their every move, every second of the day. Each week a person gets voted out of the house, until the last remaining houseguest wins the $750,000 prize.
Julie Chen Moonves returns once again to host the show, which this season will include the milestone 1,000th episode of the series. This means Big Brother will become the first primetime series to reach 1,000 original episodes.
After its premiere weekend, Big Brother season 28 will air Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays on CBS. It will also be available to stream on Paramount+ the following day.
Additionally, fans will once again be able to watch the Big Brother live feeds on Paramount+ and Pluto TV.

(BEIJING, China) — President Donald Trump arrived on Wednesday in Beijing for a multi-day summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, during which he said he’d seek to deepen diplomatic and economic ties between the world’s two largest economic powers.
After his arrival at Beijing Capital International Airport on Wednesday evening, Trump’s itinerary included a welcome ceremony, a bilateral meeting with Xi at the Great Hall of the People later in the day and a state banquet that night, according to the White House.
“We have a lot of things to discuss,” Trump said on Tuesday as he departed the White House, where he fielded questions about what would be on the table during the high-stakes summit. The summit begins as the effects of the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran continue to ripple around the globe and the U.S. economy remains a pressing issue at home.
The president was asked whether the pair would discuss diplomatic ways to end the war with Iran, which is in its third month. China is a key buyer of Iranian oil, which could give it considerable diplomatic leverage over Tehran, experts told ABC News. Trump said the U.S. had Iran “very much under control,” adding that it would be among the topics discussed.
“We’re either going to make a deal or they’re going to be decimated, one way or the other. We win,” Trump said. “We’re going to be talking about, we’re going to be talking with President Xi.”
Trump traveled on Air Force One with a more than a dozen U.S. executives, including Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Apple CEO Tim Cook. Trump said on social media on Tuesday that he planned to ask Xi to “open up” the Chinese economy.
Asked to respond on Wednesday, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Guo Jiakun, said that the scheduled diplomatic meetings were expected to play “an irreplaceable role in providing strategic guidance for China-U.S. relations.”
“During the visit, the two heads of state will have an in-depth exchange of views on major issues concerning China-U.S. relations and world peace and development,” Guo added, according to a transcript published by the ministry. “China stands ready to work with the U.S. to expand cooperation and manage differences in the spirit of equality, respect and mutual benefit, and provide more stability and certainty for a transforming and volatile world.”

My Chemical Romance has shared a teaser post related to the band’s 2010 album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.
The post, which went up on MCR’s Instagram Wednesday, features an image of the Danger Days cover artwork with the letters XV imposed over it. The letters could be the Roman numeral for 15, though Danger Days technically turns 16 in 2026.
My Chem simply writes “Tomorrow” in the caption, suggesting we’ll find out what’s up on Thursday.
My Chemical Romance is also headlining the Sonic Temple festival on Thursday. They’ll then head to Europe before launching a U.S. stadium tour in August, during which they’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 2006 opus, The Black Parade.
Danger Days, meanwhile, remains the last My Chemical Romance album before the band broke up in 2013. They reunited in 2019 and put out one new single, “The Foundations of Decay,” in 2022.
The Rolling Stones’ ‘Foreign Tongues’ (Capitol Records)
The Rolling Stones have revealed the track list for their upcoming album, Foreign Tongues.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers posted the 14-song track list on Instagram Wednesday, one day after they teased fans with the song titles.
The Stones released the track list to streaming services on Tuesday. But, taking inspiration from the album’s title, all the song titles were in different languages, with the exception of already released tracks “Rough and Twisted” and “In the Stars.” The band didn’t identify what languages they were.
The Stones are also planning to drop the music video for “In the Stars” on Thursday and offered a short tease of the clip, featuring actress Odessa A’zion, on Instagram.
Foreign Tongues, The Rolling Stones’ first album since 2023’s Hackney Diamonds, drops July 10.

Meagan Good on ‘$100,000 Pyramid’ (Disney/Christopher Willard)
Hollywood Unlocked will honor several stars at its sixth annual Impact Awards in June, including Kehlani, Kirk Franklin, Meagan Good and RZA, all of whom will be recognized for making a lasting impact on culture.
Kehlani will receive the Fearlessness Award, presented to “an individual who faces the world unafraid and unapologetic,” according to a press release. “They stand in the face of fear with resilience and tenacity, and through their accomplishments, they inspire and change the world.”
Kirk will be honored with the Inspiration Award for overcoming hardships and rising above adversity. RZA will receive the Culture Award, typically presented to those who move the culture forward and “are a voice for the people, a keeper of integrity, and demand respect from the community,” the release states.
Others set to be honored are Spirit Award recipient Meagan Good, as well as previously announced honoree Tyler Perry, who will be honored with the Innovator Award for demonstrating longevity in his career and transforming a genre with the entertainment industry.
Hosted by Tiffany Haddish, with Babyface as musical director, the 2026 Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards will take place in LA on June 5. The event will also feature special performances. A livestream begins at 7 p.m. PT on Zeus Network.

Oh, Mary? More like Oh, Meg!
Meg Stalter will make her Broadway debut by taking on the starring role of Mary Todd Lincoln in the Tony Award-winning play Oh, Mary!
Stalter’s run in the production will be a 10-week limited engagement starting on July 6 and ending on Sept. 12.
Oh, Mary!‘s official Instagram shared a poster with Stalter adorned in Mary’s signature bratty curls. The account also posted a video of Stalter getting in costume as Mary before looking straight to the camera and saying, “Sensational.”
Cole Escola created, wrote and won a Tony for starring in Oh, Mary! The show is a one-act comedy play centered on Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to her husband Abraham Lincoln’s assassination.
Maya Rudolph is currently starring as Mary Todd Lincoln in the production. She made her Broadway debut through this limited run, which was recently extended for two additional weeks. Her final performance in the role will be July 5.

Alex Van Halen is setting the record straight about not having Michael Anthony in Van Halen for their 2006 reunion with original frontman David Lee Roth.
In an interview with the Brazilian outlet KazaGastão, Alex says that when the band decided to reunite with Roth they reached out to Anthony, but wound up going with Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfgang Van Halen when Anthony didn’t respond.
“We did call,” Alex says. “To put the record straight, we did call Mike cause we owed him that, and we did call, he just didn’t answer.”
“You know, and I’m not angry at him, I love Mike,” he adds, noting that he was his “drinking buddy.”
Alex says Wolfgang wound up getting the gig because he impressed him and Eddie in the studio.
“People think … that there’s family influences in how he became part of the band, which is just simply not true,” he says.
Anthony’s last tour with Van Halen was their 2004 reunion tour with Sammy Hagar. Anthony is currently playing with Hagar on his The Best of All Worlds Tour, which has Hagar performing a set filled with Va Halen classics. The next U.S. leg launches June 13 in St. Louis.

(NEW YORK) — The South Carolina Supreme Court has overturned the murder convictions of Alex Murdaugh, who was found guilty of killing his wife and younger son, finding that the court clerk’s “improper external influence” on the jury denied him a fair trial.
Murdaugh’s wife, Margaret “Maggie” Murdaugh, 52, and younger son, Paul Murdaugh, 22, were found dead from multiple gunshot wounds near the dog kennels at the family’s hunting estate in 2021.
Murdaugh was convicted in 2023 of murdering them following a six-week trial, with jurors deliberating for nearly three hours before reaching a guilty verdict.
The South Carolina Supreme Court ruled that Murdaugh must have a new trial, citing the actions of former Colleton County Clerk of Court Mary Rebecca “Becky” Hill, the court clerk who served during the double murder trial.
Hill “egregiously attacked Murdaugh’s credibility and his defense, thus triggering the presumption of prejudice, which the State was unable to rebut,” the court’s opinion stated. “As noted at the outset, Hill’s shocking jury interference was accomplished outside the presence and knowledge of the outstanding trial judge and superbly competent and professional counsel for the State and the defense.”
In a footnote, the justices said they “commend the post-trial court, which inherited Murdaugh’s motion for a new trial and was placed in the unenviable position of evaluating unprecedented jury interference by a clerk of court within the context of a murky area of law.”
Following the decision, South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson said his office will “aggressively” seek to retry Alex Murdaugh for the murders “as soon as possible.”
“Let me be clear — this decision does not mean Murdaugh will be released,” Wilson said in a statement. “He will remain in prison for his financial crimes. No one is above the law and, as always, we will continue to fight for justice.”
Murdaugh was also convicted on several financial crimes following the murder trial and is serving a 27-year sentence on state charges and a 40-year sentence on federal charges related to those crimes.
In the murder trial, prosecutors made the case that Alex Murdaugh, who comes from a legacy of prominent attorneys in the Lowcountry region, killed his wife and son to gain sympathy and distract from his financial wrongdoings, while the defense argued that police ignored the possibility that anyone else could have killed them.
Murdaugh has continued to maintain his innocence. His defense alleged that jury tampering and evidentiary errors — including the inclusion of his financial crimes — denied him a fair trial.
Murdaugh’s attorneys contend that Hill tampered with the jury by “advising it not to believe Murdaugh’s testimony and other defense evidence, pressuring it to reach a quick guilty verdict, misrepresenting information to the trial court in an attempt to have the court remove a juror she believed to favor the defense.”
During oral arguments before the state Supreme Court justices on the matter in February, the defense alleged that Hill tampered with the jury to ensure a guilty verdict because, they claimed, it would help her sell more copies of a book she would go on to write about the high-profile case.
Murdaugh’s defense claimed that Hill influenced the verdict through remarks heard by some jurors during the trial, including in one instance to watch Murdaugh’s body language during his testimony, according to court filings.
“The clerk of court allowed public attention of the moment to overcome her duty,” Murdaugh’s attorney, Dick Harpootlian, said during the February hearing.
Lead prosecutor Creighton Waters countered during the hearing that Hill made a “few fleeting comments” over the course of a six-week trial that included nearly 90 witnesses and almost 600 exhibits, arguing that they weren’t enough to influence the verdict.
Chief Justice John Kittredge called Hill a “rogue clerk of court” during the hearing and said he wanted to make note that the “overwhelming majority” of clerks in the state are “dedicated, conscientious public servants” who “do not act like this.”
Hill resigned as the Colleton County clerk of court in March 2024, amid the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division’s investigation into allegations she may have abused her government position for financial gain.
She pleaded guilty in December 2025 to obstruction of justice, perjury and misconduct in office for showing photographs that were sealed court evidence to a reporter during the trial and then later lying about doing so on the stand during a hearing related to Murdaugh’s bid for a new trial.
The charges did not allege any jury tampering, and she denied any tampering with the jury during her testimony.

The Big Bang Theory spinoff series Stuart Fails to Save the Universe now has a teaser trailer and release date.
HBO Max has announced that the series will premiere on July 23. It will consist of 10 episodes which will be released weekly every Thursday.
The new series stars Kevin Sussman as Stuart, Lauren Lapkus as Denise, Brian Posehn as Bert and John Ross Bowie as Barry.
“Comic book store owner Stuart Bloom is tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon,” according to its official logline. “Along the way, they meet alternate-universe versions of characters we’ve come to know and love from The Big Bang Theory. As the title implies, things don’t go well.”
The new teaser trailer shows off the high-concept series, with Stuart meeting an alternate universe version of himself.
“I’m you from another stream of reality,” alternate Stuart says. “This apocalyptic nightmare, the dimensional rifts, never has to happen.”
Stuart Fails to Save the Universe comes from Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. It is created, written and executive produced by Lorre, Zak Penn and Bill Prady.
Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is not the first Big Bang Theory spinoff. Young Sheldon, which followed the origins of the original show’s protagonist, Sheldon Cooper, aired on CBS from 2017 to 2024. A spinoff of Young Sheldon, titled Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, currently airs on CBS. It premiered in October 2024 and is now in the middle of its second season.
