2 Honduran children detained for nearly a year in migrant facility, ACLU says

(VIRGINIA) — Two Honduran immigrant children have been unlawfully detained at a youth facility in Virginia for more than 300 days, the American Civil Liberties Union alleged in a lawsuit filed on Tuesday.

According to the complaint, the two siblings — a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl who lawyers say both fled gang violence in Honduras — have remained in the custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) despite “the existence of a fully vetted and approved sponsor.”

The lawsuit alleges that the government agency, which operates under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has “repeatedly delayed reunification through shifting technical and immaterial objections to sponsorship paperwork.”

According to the complaint, a close family friend stepped forward to sponsor them upon their arrival in U.S. in July 2025. By October 2025, federal officials had allegedly completed a positive home study and background checks, and recorded that “no documents are pending” in the case.

But instead of releasing the children, government officials “repeatedly” reopened the sponsorship process over minor clerical details, the lawsuit alleges.

The minors are being detained at Youth For Tomorrow, a Christian-based organization that provided services to unaccompanied migrant children. The ACLU said in the complaint that the delays in processing sponsor paperwork “are part of an escalating pattern” by the Office of Refugee Resettlement “to prevent children from being released.”

The two siblings, according to the lawsuit, have “documented educational accommodation plans and require specialized educational and developmental services” that they are not receiving while in custody.

A spokesperson for the Department of Health and Human Services told ABC News that the Office of Refugee Resettlement does not comment on active litigation. Youth For Tomorrow did not respond to a request for comment from ABC News.

The lawsuit comes as the average stay for unaccompanied minors in ORR custody has grown from 30 days in 2024 to 117 days in 2025 under the Trump administration’s ongoing immigration crackdown.

“ORR is choosing chaos and confusion for the children in its care over safety and stability,” Sophia Gregg, an attorney with the ACLU of Virginia, said in a statement. “ORR is tasked with facilitating the safe and speedy release of unaccompanied children in its care, but instead of following the law, it’s choosing to advance the Trump administration’s cruel, anti-immigrant agenda and causing irreparable harm to children in the process.”

Minneapolis mayor announces weeklong celebration honoring Prince

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has declared a weeklong celebration honoring Prince in his hometown. Prince Celebration Week kicked off Monday and will come to an end on Sunday.

“There are few artists as connected to a city as Prince is to Minneapolis,” Mayor Frey said in a statement. “His music, style, and creativity helped define who we are and how the world sees us. Prince Celebration Week gives us the opportunity to celebrate the hometown legend who made purple our unofficial city color and put Minneapolis on the map in a way no one else could.”

The week features a variety of events, including the Prince Celebration 10th Anniversary Kickoff Party featuring DJ Lenka Paris and special guest Chaka Khan; the Prince Celebration of Life 10th Year Anniversary Concert with Miguel, Bilal, Tevin Campbell and others; and the Prince Celebration Block Party and inaugural Prince Sing-Along featuring performances by CeeLo Green, among others.

Additional activities include food drives, Paisley Park open houses and a lighting of the Minneapolis skyline in purple in honor of Prince’s life and legacy.

Watch the first trailer for the new Peter Frampton documentary, ‘Frampton’

Music fans are getting their first look at the new Peter Frampton documentary, Frampton.

The first trailer for the film has just been released. It features a whole lot of archival photos and video, as well as interview clips from Sheryl Crow, Ringo Starr, Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, director Cameron Crowe, Alice Cooper, Styx’s Tommy Shaw, Heart’s Nancy Wilson, The Who’s Roger Daltrey and more.

There are also clips of Frampton being interviewed, where he comments about the aftermath of the huge success of his 1976 album, Frampton Comes Alive!

“You don’t realize what the onslaught is like until you’re #1 in the world and that’s when the s*** hit the fan,” says Frampton, noting he began drinking too much and doing too many drugs. He was also in a car accident, with Frampton saying, “(I) broke just about every bone in my body.”

Frampton, directed by Rob Arthur, is described as “an intimate portrait of a rock icon who soared, stumbled, and rose again.” It will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival on Thursday in New York City. Tickets are on sale now.

Olivia Rodrigo covers Irish singer CMAT’s song as CMAT freaks out

The last time Olivia Rodrigo performed for the BBC’s Live Lounge feature in the U.K., it got a big response from fans. This time, she got a big response from the artist whose song she covered.

Olivia’s latest appearance features her singing “When a Good Man Cries” by the Irish artist CMAT, which is short for her full name, Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson. CMAT posted a video of herself watching the cover and then flipping out when Olivia got to the lyric, “Well, I’ve never changed/ But Lord, I’m tryna/ The people’s mess/ Dunboyne Diana.”

“Dunboyne” is the Irish town CMAT grew up in. “She said Dunboyne!” CMAT screamed several times while clapping and jumping up and down. “Oh my God, she said Dunboyne! I don’t know why that’s f****** killin’ me, she actually said Dunboyne!”

“Dunboyne tourism board just exploded,” commented one fan.

CMAT wrote in the caption, “She sang it better than me so now im toast . @oliviarodrigo pints ?” Olivia responded, “I LITERALLY LOVE U SM.”

Olivia previously covered Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season” in the Live Lounge, which led to Noah covering Olivia’s song “lacy” for the same show.

Scotty McCreery celebrates ’15’ with extended Opry set

Scotty McCreery won the 10th season of American Idol on May 25, 2011, and wasted little time making his way to the Grand Ole Opry stage: He made his debut there on June 10, 2011.

Almost 15 years to the day, the “Bottle Rockets” hitmaker is headed back.

“Little did @ScottyMcCreery know stepping into the circle for the first time (at only the age of 17) that he would one day be invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry,” the country music institution posted on Instagram. “On June 11, 2026, Scotty will be performing a special extended set to celebrate 15 years since his Opry debut.”

The North Carolina native was officially inducted on April 20, 2024.

“What a ride. Looking forward to stepping back into the Circle,” Scotty answered the Opry’s post.

It’s a big year for marking milestones, as he’ll also release his 13-track retrospective collection, titled 15, on July 17.

Will Arnett to star alongside Kristen Stewart in ‘The Challenger’

Will Arnett is set to star with Kristen Stewart in The Challenger.

The actor will play George Abbey, the influential NASA official often referred to as the architect of the modern astronaut corps, in Prime Video’s upcoming limited series, ABC Audio has confirmed.

Arnett joins Stewart, who, as previously reported, will portray Sally Ride in her TV debut.

The Challenger is created by Golden Globe winner Maggie Cohn. She also writes, executive produces and showruns the program, which is inspired by Meredith E. Bagby’s 2023 book The New Guys. James Hawes, who has worked on Slow Horses and Black Mirror, will direct and executive produce the show. Kyra Sedgwick, Stewart and Bagby also executive produce.

The series follows “the gripping story of one of the most defining moments in space history, both the unprecedented events leading up to the tragedy, and the shocking investigation that followed,” according to Prime Video.

“As the members of the 1986 Rogers Commission interrogate the complex inner workings of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to find what, or who, was responsible for the Challenger’s doomed fate, the show explores Commission member Sally Ride’s personal journey,” its description continues. “We follow Sally, and the rest of the diverse Astronaut Class of ’78, through the ranks of the shuttle program, through initial recruitment and training, professional and personal highs and lows, until Sally’s historic glass ceiling moment as she becomes the first American woman in space.”

“There is no one better than Maggie Cohn to bring to life the complex story of the Challenger and the new class of astronauts recruited by NASA in the early 1970s, all through the eyes of an American hero, Sally Ride,” Sedgwick said in a press release when the project was announced back in March.

Slightly Stoopid announces details of 12th Closer to the Sun destination event

Slightly Stoopid has announced details of the 12th edition of their three-day Closer to the Sun destination music event.

The band is scheduled to play three shows at the festival, taking place Jan. 9-13, 2027, at the all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya on the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.

The lineup also includes reggae artists Stick Figure and rapper Wiz Khalifa, along with Iration, SOJA, The Movement, Tribal Seeds, Little Stranger and The Hip.

In addition to music, the weekend includes curated activities like workshops, morning yoga and a basketball invitational.

SZA joins Don Toliver at New York stop of Octane tour

SZA made an appearance at Madison Square Garden on Monday night to support an artist she’s a big fan of: Don Toliver. During a stop on his Octane Tour, she joined him onstage to perform “Used,” their collaboration from her 2022 album SOS.

“Make some noise for Don Toliver,” SZA told the crowd. “Listen, I might be your biggest fan. I’m not joking. Everything you’ve ever made, you know how I already feel. Octane is incredible.”

She was one of several guests to join Toliver onstage throughout the night. Others included Sheck Wes, SahBabii and Peso Pluma, who performed “Mo Bamba,” “K9,” and both “La Bebé (Remix)” and an unreleased collaboration with Toliver. Malcolm Todd also made an appearance for “E85,” which samples his song “Chest Pain (I Love).”

Toliver also ran through tracks from Octane, in addition to some of his biggest hits. According to setlist.fm, the set included “Secondhand,” “Rendezvous,” “ATM,” “Call Back,” “Bandit,” “Tiramisu” and “Too Many Nights.”

Toliver continues the Octane Tour on Tuesday with a stop in Baltimore.

Happy Pride Month! In honor of the occasion, Billboard has put together a list of the 100 Greatest LGBTQ Anthems of All Time, which features songs from Elton John, Cher, Diana Ross, Cyndi Lauper and more.

While Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” tops the list, the top 10 includes Ross’ 1980 hit “I’m Coming Out,” which was specifically written by Chic’s Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards for Ross’ gay fans. Madonna’s “Vogue” and Lauper’s “True Colors” are in the top 10, as well.
