During her Mayhem Ball show in San Francisco Tuesday night, Lady Gaga paid tribute to the late heavy metal icon and reality show star Ozzy Osbourne, whose death was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The Chase Center in San Francisco posted footage of Gaga onstage, opening up her black leather jacket to show off her Ozzy Osbourne t-shirt. At the end of the show, the sound system at the venue started playing Ozzy’s classic hit “Crazy Train” as she, her band and dancers all danced down the catwalk, lined up, jumped up and down, banged their heads and took a bow.
Other artists who paid tribute to Ozzy at their Tuesday night shows included Coldplay, who played the 1972 song “Changes” by Ozzy’s band Black Sabbath at their concert in Nashville, and Dave Matthews, who performed a solo version of the same song at the Dave Matthews Band’s gig in Gilford, New Hampshire.
In addition to heavy metal and hard rock artists, musicians ranging fromFlavor Flav and Ice T, to Duran Duran andBilly Idol, to Elton John and Rod Stewart took to social media to pay tribute to the late Prince of Darkness, who gave his final performance July 5 in his hometown of Birmingham, England.

The tennis superstar, 45, confirmed she and actor Andrea Preti, 37, are planning to marry in an interview after winning her first singles match in two years at the Mubadala Citi DC Open Tuesday night.
“My fiancé is here and he really encouraged me to keep playing,” Williams said in a post-match interview with The Tennis Letter.
Williams defeated Peyton Stearns, the No. 35 player in the world, 6-3, 6-4, on Tuesday.
Her comeback didn’t come easy, however, as Williams told The Tennis Letter.
“There were so many times where I just wanted to coast and kind of chill,” Williams said. “Do you know how hard it is to play tennis? You guys don’t know how much work goes into this, like it’s 9 to 5 except you’re running the whole time, lifting weights and just like dying and then you repeat it the next day. So [Preti] encouraged me to get through this and it’s wonderful to be here.”
The win was especially sweet as Williams said it was the first time Preti had seen her play.
The couple were first linked in 2024 and then sparked engagement rumors after Williams was seen wearing a ring this February, according to People.
Amid the outpouring of tributes to Ozzy Osbourne following news of the metal icon’s death Tuesday at age 76, even more have arrived to honor the late Prince of Darkness.
Metallica, which originally posted a simple broken-heart emoji when the news first broke, shared a longer statement, beginning, “It’s impossible to put into words what Ozzy Osbourne has meant to Metallica.”
“Hero, icon, pioneer, inspiration, mentor, and, most of all, friend are a few that come to mind,” the post continues. “Ozzy and Sharon [Osbourne] believed in us and transformed our lives and careers. He taught us how to play in the big leagues while at the same time being warm, welcoming, engaging, and all around brilliant. We are heartbroken and devastated by this loss and send our love and condolences to Sharon and their family, bandmates, and his very large circle of friends. He left an incredible legacy and will be sorely missed.”
Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward added his own statement following posts byTony Iommi and Geezer Butler, reading, “Where will I find you now? In the memories, our unspoken embraces, our missed phone calls, no, you’re forever in my heart. Deepest condolences to Sharon and all family members. RIP Sincere regrets to all the fans. Never goodbye. Thank you forever.”
Def Leppard, Dave Matthews Band and Coldplay all covered Black Sabbath’s “Changes” during shows Tuesday, while Wolfgang Van Halen‘s Mammoth covered Ozzy’s solo song “Mama, I’m Coming Home.”

In fact, he believes the follow-up to his 30th #1, “Texas,” is a song that can hold its own with some of his best-loved hits.
“I love it,” he tells ABC Audio. “It’s got a ton of energy and it’s kinda like a first cousin to ‘God’s Country’ or ‘Ol’ Red’ or one of those songs that I’ve had before.”
The title of his album, however, has as much to do with production schedules as it does with his well-known sense of humor.
“I just wanted to have an album title that people would remember, and my manager was hounding me, saying, ‘You know, they really need to know the album title because they gotta start printing these vinyl records,'” he explains.
“I said, ‘My God, my album won’t come out for months.’ And I had been kicking around For Recreational Use Only and I just mentioned it to him and next thing I know they were printing them, so there you go. People don’t forget it, though,” he adds.
While Blake wrapped up his Friends & Heroes Tour in March, he is on the road playing a handful of festivals this summer.
Everybody who loves karaoke has a go-to song, and apparently in the U.K. one Bon Jovi tune hails above all others.
A new study, commissioned by the telecommunications company Vodafone Three, finds that the New Jersey rockers’ #1 hit “Livin’ on a Prayer” is the U.K.’s ultimate karaoke tune and the karaoke song most likely to boost Brits’ moods.
Oxford University mathematician Dr. Tom Crawford created a formula to determine the ultimate karaoke tune, researching data from 2,000 karaoke fans. The results were determined by looking at things like number of verses, beats per minute and repetition of chorus, then ranking songs based on a score from 1 to 100.
Bon Jovi’s track topped all others with a score of 91%, followed closely by Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” with a 90% score.
The list also included songs by Oasis, Adele, ABBA, Shania Twain and the Spice Girls.
Released in 1986, “Livin’ on a Prayer” was co-written by Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora and Desmond Child, and was the second single from the band’s third studio album, Slippery When Wet. It was their second #1, following the album’s first single, “You Give Love a Bad Name.”
Justin Bieber‘s new single “Daisies” debuted at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, but further down, the chart is packed with tracks from his new album Swag.
As Billboard notes, a total of 16 songs from the album debuted on the chart, including “Daisies.” They range from “Yukon” at #17 to “405” at #86. In between are tracks including “Go Baby” at #18, “Things You Do” at #35, “Butterflies” at #49,” “First Place” at #59 and the title track at #70.
Only two songs from the record failed to chart: “Zuma” and “Forgiveness.” The skits that appear on the album between songs are ineligible to chart.
Justin has now had 121 songs in total chart on the Hot 100, the 10th most of all time. That total includes 27 top-10s and 53 top-40 hits.
Swag, Justin’s first album since 2021’s Justice, debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
Two worlds come together in the off-Broadway playDuke & Roya, a love story between American rapper Duke (Jay Ellis) and his Afghan interpreter Roya (Stephanie Nur). With the play set in the heart of war-torn Kabul, the cast credits writer Charles Randolph-Wright and director Warren Adams for being open to a collaborative process that ensured they sensitively portrayed the political aspects of the play.
“We’ve had people who have gone and worked on borders and been interpreters where there has been conflict. We’ve [had] people who had to leave Afghanistan as well who have been a part of this play. Each of us really bounced off of each other and built from each other,” Ellis tells ABC Audio, noting Charles and Warren wanted to hear their notes, thoughts and questions about the play.
Stephanie adds the cast would often spend time outside the theater to share “stories about their own experiences” in life with race, politics and more, which she thinks they eventually channeled into the play.
“I think that energy infused and informed the weight of what you’re carrying when you’re making a commentary on society without being political, but showing it through a love story,” she says. “We hit on a lot of different major stories and storylines, and I think [they] informed the rehearsals because you go right up and you do the scene and you have that weight over your shoulders and the stakes are high.”
Noma Dumezweni says it’s the right time for the play to be running, considering what’s happening in the world. “What I love [about this play is] you kind of feel the mmm’s and aha because you’re collectively listening. Because the world is literally happening outside the door,” she says. “But in this communion space, we’re also sharing an experience how we can let go of the sadness or the confusion about what is happening.” (AUDIO IS ABC 1-ON-1)
Duke & Roya is now playing at Lucille Lortel Theatre.
Mastodon drummer/vocalist Brann Dailor has released a new song called “Exodus of Gravity” with his synth-driven side project, Arcadea.
“Exodus of Gravity” is the title track off the upcoming Arcadea album, the follow-up to the band’s 2017 self-titled debut.
“The object was to get a little more dancey and a little more fun,” Dailor says. “As much as we liked how proggy the last Arcadea album was, it reminded me of what I already do in Mastodon. We wanted to explore the idea of doing something different. So, I wanted to really concentrate on groove and dance and embracing the electronic aspect of it.”
The album The Exodus of Gravity is due out Aug. 22. It also includes the previously released track “Fuzzy Planet.”
Mastodon’s most recent album is 2021’s Hushed and Grim. They’ve been working on new music following the departure of founding guitarist Brent Hinds in March.
