Paz Lenchantin, formerly of A Perfect Circle, Pixies and the Billy Corgan side project Zwan, has announced her debut solo album.

The record is called Triste and is due out Oct. 17. It includes contributions from Lenchantin’s former APC bandmates, guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen and drummer Josh Freese.

“I had to make this record on my own—not to prove anything, but just to have faith that music can nurture me back,” Lenchantin says.

The first single, “Hang Tough,” is streaming on YouTube.

Lenchantin most recently played bass in Pixies before leaving the group in 2024.

Just days after the Aug. 15 release of his new album, Learn the Hard Way, Jordan Davis is now the face — and voice — of Cracker Barrel.

The homespun Southern food restaurant is launching its new “All the More” campaign, which CEO Julie Felss Masino says “highlights how people feel about Cracker Barrel.”

“It is bigger than just a meal. We have a retail shop, you’re gonna get great country hospitality with our scratch-made food in our restaurants, and that’s really what the campaign celebrates,” she explains.

Expect to see and hear the “Bar None” hitmaker in Cracker Barrel ads soon.

“He is in our ad and is the voice of it as well,” Masino says. “It just highlights those things that make Cracker Barrel, Cracker Barrel.”

Previously, Dolly Parton starred in its “Rewards That Rock” campaign.

The new push comes as the restaurant and country store debuts redesigned interiors with more modern touches, which have been met with mixed reviews.

Chris Martin addressed Coldplay‘s viral kiss cam scandal during the band’s show in Hull, England, on Monday.

While introducing the band’s recurring jumbotron segment, in which a camera focuses on different people in the crowd, Martin told the Hull audience that they’d been doing the bit for a “long time, and it is only recently that it became a … yeah.”

That heavy “yeah” refers to the incident from Coldplay’s July show in Boston, when the camera caught two people cuddling before they immediately separated and jumped out of frame when they realized they were on video.

“Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy,” Martin joked at the time. The people were identified online as Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot, the respective CEO and chief people officer of the tech company Astronomer.

In addition to becoming nearly endless meme fodder, both Bryon and Cabot resigned from Astronomer following the incident.

During the Hull show, Martin remarked, “Life throws you lemons and you’ve got to make lemonade.”

“So, we’re gonna keep doing it because we wanna meet some of you,” he continued. “I’d like to meet all of you, of course.”

Astronomer seems to be embracing the “when life gives you lemons” mindset, as well, having recruited Gwyneth Paltrow to be the company’s “temporary spokesperson.” Paltrow, of course, was married to Martin before their infamous “conscious uncoupling” in 2014.

Coldplay, meanwhile, will continue to be on tour in the U.K. into September.

Queen’s Brian May reveals he’s working on new mixes of 1974’s ‘Queen II’

Queen’s Brian May reveals he’s working on new mixes of 1974’s ‘Queen II’
Queen’s Brian May reveals he’s working on new mixes of 1974’s ‘Queen II’

Back in October, Queen celebrated their self-titled debut album with the release of a box set that featured a remixed and remastered version of the album, which they renamed Queen I. Now it looks like their sophomore album, 1974’s Queen II, may be getting a similar treatment.

Queen guitarist Brian May hinted at the news in a post on Instagram, which included video of him tinkering in the studio with the Queen II song “Funny How Love Is.”

In the post, May invited fans “back into the world of Queen II,” calling it “surely the best Queen album EVER!!!”

“Just having fun here, switching things in and out so we hear things we never really noticed before,” he writes. “This new stereo mix is quite adventurous — and, rendering the impossible complexity of these tracks, the new clarity is astounding.”

He added that because of the work of their sound team, “this ancient work, from when we were still just learning how to reach for the stars, will open up a new world to many who care about these arcane dreams as much as we do.”

And to make sure fans know they aren’t doing the work just for themselves, he offered, “Can’t wait to share the new mixes with you when we are done … and … OMG !!!” He notes, “When we get to the Dolby Atmos surround mixes I will be in Heaven !!! Because we’ll finally be able to do justice to all the multiple layers in these tracks – a mere 52 Years later !!!”

Despite the recent tragedy in her personal life, Songs & Stories with Kelly Clarkson is set to premiere Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on NBC. In a preview clip, you can watch Kelly and the Jonas Brothers sing together and talk about sharing a bill back in 2005.

Kelly sits down with Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas for the first episode of the interview series. In the preview, Kelly recalls finding out that the brothers had name-checked her in their remake of the Busted song “Year 3000.” Busted sang in the original, “Everybody bought our seventh album/ It had outsold Michael Jackson.” When JoBros recorded it, they changed the lyric to, “It had outsold Kelly Clarkson.”

“It was in a meet and greet and somebody [said], ‘Did you hear the Jonas Brothers song?’ And I was like, ‘What, no.’ And they were like ‘They say your name!’ And I was like ‘What?'” Kelly recalls in the preview clip. “I was like, ‘That’s so cool! To be referenced in any way in pop culture — I love it.'”

Nick then recalls that in 2005 one of their first festival appearances was in Tom’s River, New Jersey, and Kelly was headlining. He laughed, “For years, as a way to get our foot in the door in interviews, we’re, ‘Yeah, we opened for Kelly Clarkson.’ We were not an opener. We were like in the parking lot on like a B-B-B-C stage.”

Kelly suggests that they all sing “Year 3000” together, adding, “I just wanna yell my name!” They all launch into an acoustic version of that part of the song and indeed, she stands up and yells, “Kelly Clarkson!”

Paul Wall and Gracie reunited in Houston Sunday at the Gracie’s Global Adventure Tour. “I wanna send big love and thanks to Gracie’s Corner for bringing me out for her 2 concerts in Houston, Texas today,” Paul wrote. “We had such a GREAT time! Her and her team put on an amazing show!” Paul and Gracie previously collaborated on Gracie’s Corner for the “Wheels on the Bus H-Town Remix.”

Tamika of Xscape gave her waiter a $700 tip after being ignored by other waitresses at The Juicy Crab in Buford, Georgia. “It was like five or six waitresses and four of them turned their backs,” she said on Instagram. “No one helped us and we stood there for five minutes.” Tamika says she eventually got help from a waitress and decided to tip her $700 for her kindness. “Never judge a book by its cover,” said Tamika. “Be patient because you never know when you’ll be blessed.”

PETA France wants Pharrell Williams’ Legion of Honor to be revoked, arguing that as creative director of Louis Vuitton he’s profited off the suffering of animals. “Williams is fully aware of the brand’s cruel legacy [which includes] animals being bludgeoned, skinned alive, and confined in concrete pits and wire cages,” says Mimi Bekhechi, PETA’s vice president for Europe, in a press release. “A title that celebrates honor should not be bestowed upon someone who prioritizes image over integrity. We urge you to reconsider this award.” PETA listed findings from an investigation supporting their statement and asked LV to follow in the footsteps of Chanel, Burberry, Balenciaga and Victoria Beckham, who have stopped using fur and exotic skins.

Luke Bryan claims the 32nd #1 of his career as “Country Song Came On” tops the Aug. 18 Mediabase chart.

“WOW #32! I love standing on that stage for country fans more than ever,” he says. “Thank you for showing up for me.”

“When I first heard this song, it took me right back to the clubs and honky-tonks I played before I got to Nashville,” he adds. “I love how the writers kept the simplicity in the track and let the lyric paint the story.”

Luke’s Country Song Came On Tour continues into the fall, wrapping Oct. 6 in Biloxi, Mississippi. His next performance takes place at Wednesday’s 18th ACM Honors at The Pinnacle in Nashville.

Luke scored his most recent #1 with “Love You, Miss You, Mean It” in October 2024 and his first in December 2009 with “Do I,” which he co-wrote with Lady A‘s Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley.

Justin Bieber impersonator banned from Vegas club after duping patrons

A Justin Bieber lookalike has been banned from a Las Vegas nightclub after managing to convince the patrons and the deejay at the venue that he was the real thing.

The trickster, later identified as Dylan Desclos, a known Bieber impersonator, took the stage at the XS Nightclub at the Wynn on Aug. 16. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, he showed up with his “team,” who informed the DJ, Gryffin, that he wanted to perform. Gryffn enthusiastically told the crowd, “Bieber in the house, y’all!” and the faux Biebs got onstage and sang Justin’s hit “Sorry.”

According to the paper, Gryffin was tricked because the venue is dark and loud, and Desclos has the same tattoos as the real Bieber, as well as a buzzcut, which is how Justin is wearing his hair these days. However, as Gryffin documented on social media, he was soon told that the performer was “a complete fake.”

In his Instagram post, Gryffin is seen saying, “I literally thought, he put on a lot of weight since the album dropped.”

As per the Review Journal, a Wynn spokesperson said in a statement, “After an elaborate and multi-step ruse by him and his advance team, a Justin Bieber impersonator was granted access to the XS stage. As soon as the error was recognized, he was removed from the resort and denied future entry.”

Even though Scotty McCreery‘s son won’t be 3 until October, it’s likely an understatement that Avery McCreery is already following in his dad’s footsteps.

“He loves the road. He’s got his own bunk on the bus,” Scotty tells ABC Audio. “We leave some toys on the bus that never go home so he can look forward to it. But he loves the music.”

“He loves what I do,” he adds. “He’s like, ‘Man, did you see Spence play guitar?’ ‘Cause that’s my guitar player. ‘Joey was crushing the drums!’ He just loves the music.”

It’s probably safe to say Avery will one day be working with his dad.

“You know, I think he’s already a roadie at heart, you know, but, we’ll put him to work for sure,” Scotty says. “He loves all things music, the shows, and he’s a good hype man. You’ll get off the stage and he’s like, ‘Good show!'”

Scotty has two dates in his home state of North Carolina, in Barco and Kenansville, respectively, on Thursday and Friday.

Meanwhile, Scotty and his wife, Gabi McCreery, are expecting their second child this fall.
