Britney Spears‘ Instagram musings are interesting, to say the least, but now the subject of one of her musings has responded.
Back in 2022, Elton John and Britney teamed up for “Hold Me Closer,” a song that mashed up Elton’s hits “The One” and “Tiny Dancer.” Britney’s first new music in six years, the song became a top-10 hit. And Britney evidently still has a lot of fond feelings for the music icon.
On Instagram Sunday, she reposted a photo from Elton’s Instagram, showing him posing with Heartstopper star Kit Connor during a summer outing. She captioned it, “Sir Elton John. I’ve been thinking of you a lot I keep having the same dream!!! I have another baby and you pick her up and we have tea in London.”
“I bless you and you bless me because our intentions are true blood and I have someone to look up to… I sound silly as pie,” she added.
Elton reposted Britney’s post on his Instagram Story and wrote, “Sending you so much love @britneyspears.”

In his original posts on Bluesky, Stipe clarified two particular lines in the song. He wrote, “It’s ‘Left of west and coming in a hurry with the Furies breathing down your neck,'” before correcting the following line, “Team by team reporters, baffled, trumped, tethered, cropped, Look at that low playing, fine, then.”
In another series of posts on Bluesky, Stipe has highlighted two more sets of lyrics folks may be getting wrong.
“Ok, its ‘feed it off an aux, speak, grunt no strength, the ladder start to clatter with fear fight down height, wire in a fire representing seven games, a government for hire and a combat site,’” he wrote in one post. Another clarified the lyric, “Uh-oh, overflow, population ‘common food, but it’ll do’, save yourself, serve yourself, world serves its own needs—listen to your heart bleed, dummy with the raptured and the revered and the right, right.”
On the second post he also commented about his writing style, joking, “And let it be said I’m of the lets eat grandma school of punctuation, so.”
“It’s the End of the World” appears on R.E.M.’s 1987 album, Document, which celebrated its 38th anniversary on Sept. 1. The track was the second single from the record, peaking at #69 on the Hot 100, although it went on to be one of the band’s signature tracks.
Ed Sheeran, ‘Play’ album (Gingerbread Man Records/Atlantic Records)
Sabrina Carpenter partnered with Van Leeuwen ice cream last year for a signature flavor inspired by her hit “Espresso.” Now Ed Sheeran is teaming with the company for a flavor inspired by the color of his upcoming album.
Peoplereports that on Wednesday, Van Leeuwen will launch Play Pink ice cream — two days before Ed’s album Play, which has a pink cover, is released. According to People, the frozen pink treat is punch-flavored and is swirled with dragonfruit and guava cake, making for Van Leeuwen’s “pinkest ice cream” ever. It’ll be available at New York City scoop shops for a limited time.
Play, which is the follow-up to Ed’s 2023 albums Subtract and Autumn Variations, features the previously released songs “Azizam,” “Sapphire,” “Old Phone” and “A Little More.” The day the album comes out he’ll release the video for “Camera.”
