Gloria Estefan stars in Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie, based on the hit Netflix kids show Gabby’s Dollhouse, in theaters Friday. She plays Gabby’s grandmother GiGi, who goes on a road trip with Gabby to “Cat Francisco,” where her precious dollhouse falls into the hands of a cat lady named Vera, played by Kristen Wiig. Gloria tells ABC Audio she thinks the film may earn her a whole new audience.

“When they sent me the script … I was enamored because [the role was] a grandma. So I go, ‘Oh my God, this is me.’ And the script was phenomenal,” says Gloria. She’s also a “huge fan” of Wiig. She wasn’t familiar with the Netflix series, though, so she watched it.

“I saw, like, kids — little kids — they’re addicted to this show,” Gloria says. “And I thought, ‘You know what? Good idea to get in there with a really young crowd.’ And I just thought it was such a great opportunity.”

But initially, Gloria thought she’d have to turn down the role.

“My schedule was nuts and I was gonna pass,” she explains. “And then, I was in an airport lounge in LA and this very nice lady comes up and she goes, ‘Gloria, we really need your energy on this film.’ And I’m going, ‘What?’ And she goes, ‘I’m the head of DreamWorks Animation, and we really need your energy on this film.'”

Gloria says when she got home her daughter — who didn’t know that her mom had been sent the script — informed her that a comedian friend of hers had just been hired to “beef up your lines and the comedy in this movie.”

“So I go, ‘You know what? I listen to the universe,'” Gloria laughs. “And I said, ‘OK.'”

Mariah Carey has a house full of pets, but it’s her son’s newest furry friend that is “flipping her out.”

While appearing on Live with Kelly & Mark, Mariah was asked what her kids, Moroccan Cannon and Monroe Cannon aka Roc and Roe, are into now that they’re 14. “Well, Rocky’s into his gaming and his friends and stuff of that nature,” said Mariah.

“And now, he has gotten a new pet. He already has two cats. … And now, he has beat me down.

Kelly Ripa cut her off, saying, “Not a snake. Don’t say it.”

“A tarantula,” Mariah finished. When Mark Consuelos asked if Mariah had “taken possession of said tarantula yet,” Mariah said, “I will never take possession over that thing, no offense to all the people that love bugs.”

“It’s flipping me out, but he really wanted it,” Mariah added. “And I do always get Monroe what she wants, she got a new golden retriever.” However, she hinted that she has to keep Monroe’s new pup away from her two dogs, Cha-Cha and Mutley.

Mariah was on the show to promote her new album, Here For It All, which is her first new release in seven years. She’s also working on her upcoming holiday show, Mariah Carey’s Christmastime in Las Vegas, which starts Nov. 28.

“I am preparing. … And we have some ideas,” she teased. “‘Cause it’s almost time.”

Megadeth is getting ready to release new music, and they’re giving fans a tease of what to expect.

The thrash metal rockers have posted a short clip on Instagram of the video for their new single, “Tipping Point,” which is set to drop Oct. 3.

In August, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine announced that the band’s next album, due out in early 2026, will be their last. He also shared that their next tour, also launching in 2026, will be their last, suggesting that it will likely last a long time.

“Don’t be mad, don’t be sad, be happy for us all, come celebrate with me these next few years,” Mustaine said. “We have done something together that’s truly wonderful and will probably never happen again.”

He added, “We started a musical style, we started a revolution, we changed the guitar world and how it’s played, and we changed the world. The bands I played in have influenced the world. I love you all for it. Thank you for everything.”

So far there’s no other information about Megadeth’s new album. It will be the first studio album from the band since 2022’s The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead!

The B-52s have been eligible for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame since 2004, but so far they’ve never even been nominated — something vocalist Fred Schneider has strong feelings about.

“I don’t care anymore,” he tells Vulture. “We should have been in 20 years ago because if it’s about influencing other bands, I can’t tell you how many bands said they were influenced by us.”

Schneider says his bandmate Kate Pierson “is really champing at the bit to get in,” but he isn’t.

“It just doesn’t make any sense that we’re not in,” he says. “Other bands have gotten in who aren’t even rock and roll. I could care less about being in there with John Cougar Mellencamp.”

The B-52s kicked off a new tour with Devo, another band that isn’t in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, on Wednesday in Toronto. The Cosmic De-evolution Tour hits Clarkston, Michigan, on Thursday. A full list of dates can be found at TheB52s.com

Bruce Springsteen talks new film, touring and politics

The much-anticipated Bruce Springsteen film Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere opens Oct. 24, and while some folks may have been surprised The Boss gave his OK to the project, he tells Time magazine there was a simple reason why he finally said yes.

“I’m old. I don’t give a f*** what I do anymore!” he says. “As you get older, you feel a lot freer.”

But getting older is not slowing the 76-year-old Springsteen down. Asked whether he plans to continue touring with the E Street Band, he says, “Of course!”

“I just want to keep going,” he tells Time. “I want to make records that deal with subjects people haven’t heard me deal with yet.”

Springsteen also opens up to Time about his decision to call out President Donald Trump while onstage during his 2025 European tour.

“If I’m going to stay true to who I’ve tried to be, I can’t give these guys a free pass,” he says. “A lot of people bought into his lies. He doesn’t care about the forgotten anybody but himself and the multibillionaires who stood behind him on inauguration day.”

“You have to face the fact that a good number of Americans are simply comfortable with his politics of power and dominance,” he adds.

Asked how he felt about being called “highly overrated” by Trump, Bruce notes, “I absolutely couldn’t care less what he thinks about me.”

“He’s the living personification of what the 25th Amendment and impeachment were for,” he argues. “If Congress had any guts, he’d be consigned to the trash heap of history.”

Sleep Token brought their sold-out arena tour to Philadelphia’s Xfinity Mobile Arena Wednesday night, and being one state over from New Jersey apparently gave them some inspiration for their set list.

Fan-shot footage posted to YouTube shows the U.K. metal band’s anonymous masked frontman Vessel behind the keyboards as he treats the crowd to a cover of New Jersey native Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 hit “Dancing in the Dark.” According to setlist.fm, the performance served as an intro to their song “Rain.”

“Dancing in the Dark,” from Springsteen’s #1 album Born in the U.S.A., peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The video for the song is notable for the appearance of a pre-Friends fame Courteney Cox

Sleep Token kicked off their U.S. arena tour in Duluth, Georgia, on Sept. 16. The shows are in support of their #1 album Even in Arcadia, which was released in May.

The tour hits Detroit, Michigan, on Friday. A complete list of dates can be found at Sleep-Token.com.
