Hard to beat.”

Sean Combs deserves at least 11 years in prison when he is sentenced Friday on two counts of transportation for the purposes of prostitution, federal prosecutors said in a memo to the judge, arguing that despite his acquittal on more serious charges, Combs is “unrepentant” and left victims in fear.

“The defendant will not be punished for any crimes of which he was acquitted, of course, but punishment for his crimes of conviction must take into account the manner in which he committed them,” prosecutors argued.

The recommendation is far in excess of what defense attorneys sought, which amounts to about time served.

Federal prosecutors say Combs was violent, abusive and left victims in fear, so while he was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges they say he still deserves at least 11 years following his July conviction on two counts of transportation for the purposes of prostitution.

Prosecutors argued Combs held all the power over the people he transported, particularly Cassie Ventura, who ended up “bloodied and busied,” as depicted on hotel security camera video.

“The defendant also horrifically physically abused Ventura throughout their relationship, a point he conceded at trial,” prosecutors said.

They argued the sentence should reflect Combs’ “decades of unchecked violence” and “decades of psychological, emotional and physical damage he has inflicted.”

Defense attorneys call the recommendation “draconian,” saying in their earlier sentencing memo it amounts to “Verdict be damned—lock him up and throw away the key.”

The prosecution included several people who were previously in Combs’ orbit, including Cassie Ventura and Mia, a former employee who testified in court.

“I hope that your sentencing decision reflects the strength it took for victims of Sean Combs to come forward,” Ventura said in a letter. “I hope that your decision considers the many lives that Sean Combs has upended with his abuse and control.”

Mia said in a letter she hoped the court would hand down a sentence that “reflects the full measure of harm that he has caused.”

“A sentence that honors the truth, the pain, and the lives that have been destroyed. A sentence that that gives us hope, protection, and justice,” she wrote.

She added, “Please, your Honor. You have the power to show us, the world and the future that our lives, our voices, our truth, and our humanity matter. Please help us.”

In season 2 of the Netflix show Wednesday, the characters Enid and Agnes perform a choreographed routine to Lady Gaga‘s “The Dead Dance.” On Monday, the actresses who play those characters got to do the dance live onstage in front of thousands of fans — at Lady Gaga’s concert in London.

Gaga posted on her Instagram Story footage of Emma Myers, who plays Wednesday’s werewolf roommate Enid, and Evie Templeton, who plays Wednesday’s biggest fan/stalker Agnes, dancing behind her on the runway of her Mayhem Ball stage. You can find more fan-shot footage of the moment posted online.

Gaga also posted rehearsal footage on her TikTok with the caption, “Enid, Agnes and Rosaline snuck out of Nevermore for a night of The Dead Dance at The MAYHEM Ball.” Rosaline is the character Lady Gaga played in Wednesday season 2.

Gaga’s concert at the O2 Arena in London — the first of three — featured a performance of the song “Speechless” from The Fame Monster for the first time since 2017.

According to Billboard, even before she started the U.K. and European leg of her tour, 2025 was shaping up to be Gaga’s biggest year ever on the road. The North American leg of the Mayhem Ball has already taken in over $103 million. That’s already the highest-grossing tour leg of any trek she’s ever done, anywhere in the world.

The publication projects the tour could take in some $150 million by the time she’s done in Europe; after that, she still has Australia and Japan to cover, before returning to North America in 2026 for another 25 shows.

On This Day, Sept. 30, 1982: Bruce Springsteen releases ‘Nebraska’

On This Day, Sept. 30, 1982 …

Bruce Springsteen released the solo album Nebraska.

The album featured 10 acoustic songs Springsteen originally recorded as demos on a four-track recorder. He’d planned to rerecord them with the E Street Band but instead released them as a solo acoustic record.

The album was a critical darling and peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart, with the album’s biggest hit being “Atlantic City,” which reached #10.

Some of the songs on the demo that didn’t make it on Nebraska were later rerecorded with the band and wound up on Springsteen’s multi-Platinum #1 record, Born in the U.S.A.

The film Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, an adaptation of Warren Zanes‘ 2023 book about the making of the album, is set to open Oct. 24 starring The Bear star Jeremy Allen White as The Boss.

Springsteen is also releasing an expanded box set dedicated to the album. Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition drops Oct. 17.
