If you thought “So High School” and “The Alchemy” were about Travis Kelce, wait’ll you hear some of the songs on Taylor Swift‘s new albumThe Life of a Showgirl.

The album of 12 “bangers,” as Taylor described it, is indeed upbeat pop music, but a bit more stripped down than Reputation, her last collaboration with Max Martin and Shellback. Most of the tracks on the album are love letters to her fiancé, mostly sweet, but occasionally raunchy. Let’s just say the Jackson Five-sounding throwback “Wood” isn’t about lumber.

On the sweet end of things, “Honey” finds Taylor admitting that she never liked anyone calling her pet names until she met Travis. “You give it different meaning, ’cause you mean it when you talk,” she sings.

On “Wi$h Li$t,” she reveals her personal desire: “I just want you/ Have a couple kids, got the whole block looking like you/ We tell the world to leave us thе f*** alone, and they do, wow/ Got me drеaming about a driveway with a basketball hoop.”

The first track, “The Fate of Ophelia,” describes how Travis saved her heart from ending up like Ophelia in Shakespeare’s Hamlet: “No longer drowning and deceived/ All because you came for me.” It also has the only football metaphor on the album, “Pledge allegiance to your hands, your team, your vibes.”

But what would a Taylor Swift album be without diss tracks? “Actually Romantic” appears to be a direct response to Charli XCX‘s song “Sympathy is a knife,” which was said to be about Taylor.

“Father Figure,” which interpolates the George Michael song of the same name, seems to be about Scott Borchetta, who signed Taylor to her first record deal and ultimately set the wheels in motion for the Scooter Braun fiasco. “You pulled the wrong trigger/ This empire belongs to me,” sings Taylor.

The final track, Taylor’s duet with Sabrina Carpenter, “The Life of a Showgirl,” is a metaphor for how these two modern-day showgirls learned the tricks of the trade from the women who came before them and succeeded beyond everyone’s wildest dreams.

“I paid my dues with every bruise/ I knew what to expect,” they sing. “And all the headshots on the walls of the dance hall are of the b*****/ Who wish I’d hurry up and die/ But, I’m immortal now, baby dolls.”

Fittingly, the song ends with Taylor thanking the crowd and Sabrina answering, “I love you, Taylor.” That’s our show,” Taylor says as the album concludes. “We love you so much. Goodnight.

When Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham released their debut album, Buckingham Nicks, in 1973, it failed to make any sort of significant appearance on the album charts. But more than 50 years later, that has all changed.

According to Billboard, the recent reissue of Buckingham Nicks has made an appearance on several charts, including the Top Album Sales chart, where it debuted at #3 after moving 30,000 copies in the U.S.

Buckingham Nicks did even better on several other charts, including the Top Rock Albums, Indie Store Album Sales and Catalog Albums charts, where it debuted at #1, and the Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Vinyl Albums charts, where it landed at #2.

As for the all-genre Billboard 200, Buckingham Nicks just missed the top 10, debuting at #11.

Buckingham Nicks is the only album the former couple released as a duo. It eventually led to them being invited to join Fleetwood Mac.

It’s been nearly three months since Clipse released Let God Sort Em Out, and they’re quite pleased with the album’s reception. In an interview with Billboard, they shared their reactions to the project coming up in album-of-the-year conversations.

“I like it because it’s unanimous; it’s the consensus. Everywhere we go, people keep saying it,” Malice said. “Just that it hits everybody in that way. With that being the case, that just can’t be denied. It didn’t come from us saying it; it comes from the listener.”

Pusha T agreed, adding the response to the album is just a “testament of what we put into the music.”

“This is still art class for us,” he explained. “I was never in band or anything, but I feel like we attacked this music in such a way that it comes with that level of precision. There’s a level of expertise that is shown in the creation and displayed in the creation of this music. I’m glad that it comes across and hits people in that way.”

While he feels Clipse has “kind of cracked the ceiling” on rap being a young man’s sport, there is still one more goal they want to accomplish.

“The Grammys is definitely the high-water mark for musical achievement. And this is what you do it for. You don’t play the game just to get a participation trophy. So like, it would definitely mean a lot, for sure,” Malice said, with Pusha noting it would be “a well-deserved full-circle moment” and a “win for just brotherhood.”

Pharrell, who produced Let God Sort Em Out, argues it’s Clipse’s time and an opportunity for them to “bring it home for our parents.”

He also shared his desire for the duo to perform their song “Birds Don’t Sing” during the 2026 awards show.

Miley Cyrus may have been harshly criticized when she shed her Disney image for a more provocative image in her 20s, but she wasn’t letting it bother her at the time.

In a preview clip ahead of her CBS Sunday Mornings interview airing Sunday, Miley says it wasn’t until years later that she learned just how brutal the backlash was.

“I was the first person to maybe ever be canceled, I guess,” she says. “I didn’t know until I was older actually how brutal it really was.”

“It was very challenging for other people but for me, it was a good time,” she admits. “It looked fun and it was fun. It wasn’t until I was older that I realized how harsh [it was].”

Miley, who’s 32 now, adds, “I would never now, being where I am, ever look at anyone in their 20s from the view of who I am now. But at the time, it was awesome.”

Miley caught the brunt of the backlash in 2013, when she released her Bangerz album and twerked onstage with Robin Thicke at the MTV VMAs.

Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page is paying tribute to Chris Dreja, his former bandmate in the Yardbirds, who has passed away at age 79.

“I heard today of the passing of musician Chris Dreja, who passionately played with the iconic Yardbirds, on rhythm guitar and then the bass,” Page wrote on Instagram. “I hadn’t seen him in a while, and I wish I had. RIP Chris.”

Dreja was a co-founder of the Yardbirds, which formed in London in 1963. In addition to Page, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck were early members of the group, although they both eventually left. Other members included vocalist/harmonica player Keith Relf, drummer Jim McCarty and bassist Paul Samwell-Smith.

For Your Love, the band’s debut album in the U.S., was released in 1965. The title track became a top-10 hit. Other hit songs by the band include “Heart Full of Soul,” “Shapes of Things” and “Over Under Sideways Down.”

Dreja, who co-authored several of the band’s songs, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Yardbirds in 1992. He was part of the reformation of the group in 1992 and continued to perform with them until 2012, when he suffered a series of strokes that left him unable to perform.

Outside of music, Dreja had a career as a photographer. He is responsible for the photo on the back cover of Led Zeppelin’s debut album. He also worked with Andy Warhol, and photographed such artists as Bob Dylan, the Righteous Brothers, and Ike and Tina Turner.

A new photo book dedicated to David Bowie is coming out in November.

Collaboration: Frank Ockenfels 3 x David Bowie is due out Nov. 4, featuring never-before-published photos by famed photographer Frank Ockenfels 3, who met Bowie in 1991.

“This project was his idea,” Ockenfels tells The Hollywood Reporter in an interview about the book. “He brought it up to me during one of our final shoots, saying he thought by that point we had enough for a book.”

The book features photos of Bowie from 1991 to 2006, with the description noting they “reflect the many facets of Bowie’s career” and that it “serves as both a visual tribute to a legendary figure and a documentation of a profound artistic connection.”

Talking about his work with Bowie, Ockenfels tells The Hollywood Reporter, “He didn’t come with a look book. He just supported my eye and allowed me to fail, which is what a lot of great art comes out of.”

Ockenfels says he regrets not getting to shoot Bowie for his 2016 album, Blackstar, sharing that he was unaware the singer was sick. Bowie died two days after the album’s release.

“David really allowed me to grow,” Ockenfels says. “An artist like that constantly pushes you: How much further can we go? How much weirder? That’s a unique relationship.”

Collaboration: Frank Ockenfels 3 x David Bowie is available for preorder now.
