Illness has forced Steely Dan to drop off several dates of the Eagles’ The Long Goodbye Tour.

The Indianapolis Star reported that Steely Dan frontman Donald Fagen had been hospitalized, although ABC Audio has learned Donald is not hospitalized and expects to be back on the road soon.

Michael Leonhart, who is currently on tour with Steely Dan, posted on Instagram, “All is fine. Just a little illness. We’ll be back on stage soon.”

Steely Dan has actually been off the Eagles bill since Friday, October 6, when Sheryl Crow filled in for them in Denver. The Steve Miller Band then took over for the Indianapolis shows on October 9 and 10 and will again fill in October 13 in Detroit and October 17 in Cleveland. Current Eagles member Vince Gill and the Nashville Band will open the October 15 show in Pittsburgh.

Once those shows are over, Eagles aren’t back onstage until November 2 in Atlanta, Georgia. A complete list of tour dates can be found at eagles.com.

Astrid Stawiarz/Getty Images for Atlantic Records

Meek Mill took a stroll down memory lane to revisit a moment in time he says changed his life forever.

He shared two separate video clips to Instagram: the first, a throwback clip of his first meeting with Rick Ross at a radio station in Philadelphia.

“Met Ross ‘2011’ through @djcosmickev at power 99 changed my life,” he wrote.

The second video was a more recent clip of “Shaq & Kobe,” Meek and Ross’ latest collaboration.

“Next slide- ‘2023’ @richforever pull that jet up to powerhouse in Philly I bet you whatever the whole arena sing SHAQ and Kobe word for word,” he said.

The latter note references the upcoming Powerhouse concert in Meek’s hometown of Philadelphia where he will take the stage for the 40th anniversary show.

In a recent interview with Apple Music, Meek and Ross joined Ebro for an interview where they discussed the beginnings of their partnership.

After Ross listened to Meek’s music over a decade ago, he signed the rapper to his Maybach Music Group. Meek then created his own label, Dreamchasers Records, a joint venture with Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation.

The 1975’s Matty Healy gives 10-minute speech on Malaysia controversy during Dallas concert

Katja Ogrin/Redferns

The 1975 frontman Matty Healy spoke at length for the first time about the band’s controversial concert in Malaysia during a show in Dallas on Monday, October 9.

During The 1975’s set at Kuala Lumpur’s Good Vibes Festival in July, Healy criticized Malaysia’s harsh anti-LGBTQ+ laws and kissed bassist Ross MacDonald onstage. The 1975’s performance was cut short, and the remainder of the festival was canceled.

Healy previously addressed the incident with brief, one-off comments. During the Dallas concert, however, he gave a 10-minute speech that he read from his phone. He began telling the audience that they’d “drawn the short straw” since they’d come to the show where he’s “genuinely just stopped caring.”

“The 1975 did not waltz into Malaysia unannounced,” Healy said. “They were invited to headline a festival by a government who had full knowledge of the band, its well-publicized political views, and its routine stage show.”

“Me kissing Ross was not a stunt … to provoke the government,” he continued. “It was an ongoing part of The 1975’s stage show, which has been performed many times prior. Similarly, we chose to not change our set that night, to play pro-freedom of speech, pro-gay songs. To eliminate any routine part of the show in an effort to appease the Malaysian authorities’ bigoted views of LGBTQ people would be a passive endorsement of those politics.”

Healy then focused his attention to those who criticized his actions as performative.

“The idea of calling out a performer for being performative is mind-numbingly redundant,” he said.

Footage of Healy’s remarks were captured and posted by the @the1975_thteam fan account.
