It seems that Christmas season comes earlier and earlier each year, but it doesn’t officially start until Mariah Carey says it’s time. And as she made sure to point out on Tuesday, it’s not.

Mariah posted a montage of herself in different situations, saying, “Not yet,” “I said, ‘Not yet!'” and throwing in an “it’s not time yet” for good measure. And if that wasn’t abundantly clear, the caption on the Instagram post also reads “NOT YET!!!”

One commenter wrote, “Tell that to my wife, Mariah. She’s already singing it.” And by “it,” of course, he means Mariah’s holiday song — the title of which we’re not even going to utter at this time, because we’re going to hear quite enough of it in the next two months.

Just for reference, Mariah announced “It’s time” on Nov. 1 last year, so we’re close.

But despite it not being time yet, tickets for Mariah Carey’s Christmastime in Las Vegas, a show at Dolby Live at Park MGM, are on sale now. The show will run from Nov. 28 through Dec. 13. Plus, Mariah’s announced a series of pop-up holiday bars in select cities, serving festive cocktails and offering fans photo-worthy moments, exclusive merch and more.

Cyndi Lauper is famous for her crazy and colorful style, both onstage and off. So it’s only fitting that an artist who’s known for that same thing be the one to induct her into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Chappell Roan will do the honors when the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony streams live on Disney+ on Nov. 8. Chappell says in an Instagram video, “She has inspired me with her fashion, her hair, of course her makeup, her music — I actually auditioned with ‘True Colors’ for America’s Got Talent when I was 13.”

Chappell laughs, “I didn’t make it, but the song is still incredible. I’m so excited, thank you for having me! Cyndi!”

In addition to their fashion sense, Chappell and Cyndi have something else in common: They’re both passionate about LGBTQ+ rights. For years, Cyndi’s True Colors Fund has provided aid and support for LGBTQ+ youth facing homelessness, and Chappell recently launched the Midwest Princess Project to provide resources for trans youth and LGBTQ+ communities.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will also feature Teddy Swims, Olivia Rodrigo, Missy ElliottBryan Adams, Doja Cat, Brandi Carlile, Elton John and RAYE, plus many more. This year’s inductees include the late Joe Cocker, U.K. rockers Bad Company, Soundgarden, The White Stripes, Outkast and Salt-N-Pepa.

Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil has announced a new memoir.

The book, titled A Screaming Life: Into the Superunknown with Soundgarden and Beyond, is due out May 19. As Thayil explains, it “tells my story as an American son of immigrants growing up in Chicago.”

“Then, along with another immigrant’s American son, Hiro Yamamoto, we travel to Seattle as idealistic youths, involve ourselves with underground and independent subcultures, and connect with Chris Cornell to form Soundgarden,” Thayil says. “It follows my experiences, journeys and growth with the band and the building of the Seattle music scene; ultimately, to partner with Matt Cameron and later Ben Shepherd as we worked and played towards our worldwide successes.”

He adds, “I explore the heights, depths and insights gained from my experiences within the unique and special brotherhood we built.”

You can preorder A Screaming Life now.

Meanwhile, Thayil and Soundgarden will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Nov. 8. The ceremony takes place in Los Angeles and will stream live on Disney+.

There’s a new biography of Dolly Parton headed for bookshelves later this year.

Ain’t Nobody’s Fool: The Life and Times of Dolly Parton will arrive Dec. 30 via St. Martin’s Press. It was written by Martha Ackmann, whose previous work has focused on “women who have changed America.”

The 304-page volume is billed as “a larger-than-life new biography of country music legend and philanthropist Dolly Parton.” It’s based on interviews with “friends, family members, school mates, Nashville neighbors, members of her band, studio musicians, producers” and more.

Of course, Dolly published her own autobiography, titled Dolly: My Life and Other Unfinished Business, in 1994. The third in her series of coffee table books, Star of the Show: My Life on Stage, arrives Nov. 11.
