Bon Jovi will be there for its fans later this year.  The rockers unveiled plans for a 15-stop tour that will span across the U.S. starting in the spring.

Called the Bon Jovi 2022 Tour, the band will hit up arenas in the country’s biggest cities, starting April 1 in Omaha, Nebraska, at the CHI Health Center.  The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers’ tour wraps April 30 in Nashville, Tennessee, at the Bridgestone Arena.

The tour will support Bon Jovi’s 2020 album, and frontman Jon Bon Jovi cannot wait to hit the road again to see his fans.  “We have all missed touring and we know that nothing can replace the energy of a live show for the fans or the band,” he said in a statement.

Tickets for the 15-stop tour go on sale starting Friday, January 14, at 10 a.m. ET on Bon Jovi’s official webpage. Fans will be able to cut the line if they are a member of the JBJ Experience, and can access the pre-sale a few days earlier, on Tuesday, January 11, at 10 a.m. ET.

Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town will split a bill once again: They’re co-headliners for a 2022 iteration of The Bandwagon Tour, which will kick off this spring.

It’s a return of the two act’s 2018 tour of the same name, and this time around, The Cadillac Three will join Miranda and Little Big Town’s traveling show as an opening act. The full lineup will kick things off on May 6 with a show in Houston, Texas, hitting amphitheaters across 15 dates and wrapping in June.

“The Bandwagon tour is BACK!! Been dying to share this news,” Little Big Town wrote on social media this morning.

“This is one of the most fun tours I’ve ever done,” Miranda added on her socials. “See y’all for round two!”

Before the party starts in earnest, Miranda and The Cadillac Three will kick things off a little early, playing three shows without Little Big Town starting a week before the full tour launches.

Tickets go on sale next Friday, January 14 at 10 a.m. local time, except for the May 6 Houston stop, which opens up to ticket sales on January 21. Additionally, there’s a special presale for Citi cardholders starting the Tuesday before tickets open up to the general public.

One year ago Saturday, back on January 8, 2021, a 17-year-old Disney star named Olivia Rodrigo released a song called “drivers license” — and then proceeded to utterly dominate the pop music world for the rest of the year.

“It was just crazy. Like, my entire life shifted in an instant. It was weird!” Olivia told The New York Times a month-and-a-half after the song’s release, by which time it’d topped charts worldwide.

A year ago, Olivia was best known as the star of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Her song “All I Want” from that latter series had gone viral on TikTok, and she’d teased “drivers license” on the app in 2020, hinting that it was about a “failed relationship.”

After the song’s release, fans on TikTok drove themselves into a frenzy speculating that the person who inspired it was her HSMTMTS co-star Joshua Barrett, and the two were part of a love triangle with “that blonde girl” — actress/singer Sabrina Carpenter.  None of that speculation has ever been confirmed.

On January 10, Olivia’s hero, Taylor Swift, noting that “drivers license” was next to her song on iTunes, posted, “I say that’s my baby and I’m really proud.”  On January 12, the song broke the Spotify record for the most single-day streams for a non-holiday song, and then set the record for the biggest first week for a song on both Spotify and Amazon Music.

“drivers license” debuted at number-one on the Billboard Hot 100, making Olivia the youngest artist ever to achieve that feat.  By the end of February, the song had inspired an entire skit on Saturday Night Live, Olivia had turned 18 and was being hailed as the second coming of both Taylor Swift and Alanis Morissette.

But “drivers license” was just the beginning: It was followed by four additional hits from Olivia’s number-one debut album, SOUR, plus three MTV VMA wins, an American Music Award, a People’s Choice Award and seven Grammy nominations.

We can’t wait to see what Olivia does this year.

Billie Joe Armstrong thinks the Grammys should make a new trophy

Billie Joe Armstrong thinks the Grammys should say “Good Riddance” to its current trophy.

In an Instagram Story, the Green Day frontman shared a photo of him holding his Best Alternative Music Performance award the band won in 1994 for Dookie, alongside the caption “Grammys need to come up with a new trophy.”

He then added, “No one knows what the f*** a ‘gramophone’ is.”

Indeed, the music playing device that gave the Grammys its name, which was first invented in the late 1800s, certainly isn’t as popular nowadays. Armstrong did not suggest a replacement design, though.

Should the Recording Academy decide to tinker with the Grammy trophy design, they do have some extra time to do it. Earlier this week, it was announced that the 2022 Grammys would be postponed from its originally announced January 31 date due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. A new date has yet to be announced.

Dead & Company won’t be playing in the Mexican sand after all this month, as the band has just announced that it’s called off its entire two-weekend Playing in the Sand destination festival.

The news of the cancellation comes after drummer Bill Kreutzmann dropped out of the event earlier this week due to health issues, and then singer/guitarist John Mayer dropped out because he got COVID-19.

On Instagram, Dead & Company posted a message that reads, “With much sadness and after great consideration of every possible scenario, the Playing in the Sand shows in Riviera Cancun on January 7-10 and January 13-16 have now been canceled…due to the spiking COVID-19 cases.”

The statement continues, “Dead & Company…tried everything possible to bring normalcy and to deliver a great experience and amazing music, but with each day it became increasingly clear that canceling is the correct thing to do for the fans and for our crew.”

Noting that anyone who has tickets will receive an email about refunds, the statement ends by saying, “See you soon, hug your loved ones, stay safe and be kind.”

The event was to have featured multiple performances by the Grateful Dead spinoff group and other artists at the Moon Palace Cancún resort.

Don’t expect to get your hands on a physical copy of The Weeknd‘s new album, because he hasn’t made any… yet.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday, hours before Dawn FM arrives, he announced that he is only selling digital copies of his new album.  The revelation came after a fan noted a since-deleted tweet that declared because there will be “no physical copies (vinyls, CDs, cassettes)” during the first week of release, it will “obviously impact first week figures.”

The Canadian artist didn’t sweat the possibility of losing out on possible sales, and shot back, “This doesn’t matter to me. what matters is getting to experience the album together with the fans during these times.”

If you’re more traditional with your music consumption, no fear: you’ll soon be able to listen to The Weeknd’s new album the old-fashioned way.  According to his online store, cassette, CD and vinyl copies of Dawn FM are on sale but won’t start shipping until January 28.

Britney Spears is continuing to indulge herself now that she’s free of her 13-year conservatorship, and her most recent outing brought tears to her eyes.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Britney opened up about having a magical dining experience at a “very nice place in Los Angeles.”

“I didn’t have any expectations at all because I haven’t been out in a while,” she admitted, but she was blown away by the experience.  “It was absolutely beautiful,” she declared.  “I looked up and it was a glass roof, I could see the stars.”

The singer took a beat to rave about the “girly” and “beautiful” women’s restrooms before going into detail about her fine dining experience.  Britney revealed that restaurant is where she was finally able to enjoy a glass of red wine, her first in 13 years, which was a profound moment for her.

“I felt more sexy in that restaurant than I ever have in my entire life … Then I look up at the stars.  Wow, is this what I’ve been missing???,” she wrote, adding that the second course — which she described as a “crunchy sushi with a sweet sauce” — brought her to tears.  “It made me want to cry, so I did !!! I cried over food in this beautiful restaurant … I couldn’t believe what I was experiencing.”

“I will say it was one of the most magical experiences of my life and I will never forget it,” Britney added, but declined to reveal the name of the institution.  However, she did provide fans a quick glimpse at the fancy place when sharing a video of her cracking open her dessert, a chocolate tower, with the side of her spoon.
