No one would accuse Palaye Royale of not being theatrical, but the band turned up the drama to 11 on their new album, Fever Dream.

Each of the record’s 15 tracks feels like its own mini apocalypse, with the crescendo of the music providing the soundtrack to a world beginning and ending. That bombastic sound was created through a true collaboration between the three Palaye Royale brothers: lead vocalist Remington Leith, guitarist Sebastian Danzig and drummer Emerson Barrett.

Speaking to ABC Audio, Danzig shares that each Fever Dream song contained a “third of each of us” instead of “having a track that’s more Remington-driven or a track that’s more Emerson or myself-driven.”

“This was the first time we really had that opportunity,” Danzig says.

That apocalyptic music is matched by Leith’s singing, who felt it was “so important” to “push myself vocally on this record.”

“I wanted to try stuff I’ve never tried before,” Leith says. “Go to higher and higher notes, go to lower notes, hit falsettos, do something I’m not used to, vocally.”

Fever Dream also provided another first for Palaye Royale, lyrically and tonally.

“There’s so much dark undertones to everything that we do, but I think this is the first time we’ve ever been more hopeful,” Danzig explains. “There is a light at the end of it all, and there’s a little bit of hope that we have instilled in it.”

Leith feels Fever Dream reflects his own personal journey toward “self-realization” that he experienced while writing and recording it. He points to a lyric from the song “Oblivion” as being especially representative of the album.

“There’s a lyric that says, ‘I’m in between the best and worst of me,'” Leith says. “That kinda sums up the perfect lyric for the record.”

Saweetie has changed the title of her upcoming debut solo album from Pretty B***h Music to The Single Life, and she says it is her “testimony as a single woman and what I’ve been through, the good and the bad.”

“I feel like a lot of my private love life has been publicized on the media and the internet, so it’s time for me to speak up,” the two-time Grammy nominee tells People. Saweetie was in a high-profile relationship with Quavo from Migos from 2018 to 2021, when they announced their breakup. They continue to be hot on social media as fans speculate that his new track “Messy” refers to the rumor that Saweetie was involved with Lil Baby.

Saweetie says that instead of commenting on social media, she will set the record straight on her album.

“I think the best way to respond to my perception is through the music, ’cause honestly, if you don’t know me personally, I’m not gonna have a personal conversation online,” the 29-year-old rapper says. “I’m gonna address a lot of things that haven’t publicized me right or wrong, but it’s all gonna be publicized in the message, in the music.”

Saweetie, born Diamonte Harper, won the 2022 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding New Artist following the success of her double-Platinum hit “Best Friend” featuring Doja Cat. Her album was originally scheduled to be released in 2021, but was pushed back. Now Saweetie says the project will drop before the end of the year.

In describing the album, she says it represents “me standing on being single. We need to be comfortable in just being single.” Saweetie adds that the songs are “all based off experience …. expect honesty, truth.”

Deko Entertainment

Coinciding with Halloween, an eerie new lyric video for “Bogey Man,” an archival solo song by late Who bassist John Entwistle, has premiered on the Deko Entertainment label’s official YouTube channel.

“Bogey Man” is the lead track of the recently released Entwistle solo compilation, Rarities Oxhumed – Volume One. The track features drums by late Who legend Keith Moon, whose part was recorded for an early demo version of the song dating back to the 1970s.

Entwistle and his solo band originally contributed “Bogey Man” to the soundtrack of a late-’90s computer-animated kids show called Van-Pires that was about vehicles that were turned into gasoline-sucking villains after a meteor struck the Earth.

The “Bogey Man” video features footage of Entwistle and his bandmates performing the tune along with scenes from Van-Pires. Fans who watch the clip can sing along to the lyrics by following a bouncing spider, a nod to John’s classic Who tune “Boris the Spider.”

Rarities Oxhumed – Volume One is a 13-track collection featuring previously unheard studio tracks, demos, remastered live performances and other unreleased Entwistle gems.

The compilation is available now via digital formats and on CD. The CD version can be ordered at Merchbucket.com. Exclusive special bundles are available at the site, including an expanded 12-page booklet with photos and recording information and either a necklace or a keychain featuring a specially designed Entwistle crest.

Matthew Morrison is known for playing Mr. Schuester on Glee — but another famous curly-haired singer almost got the role.

Showrunner Ryan Murphy revealed on the That’s What You REALLY Missed podcast that Justin Timberlake was originally sought out for the role.

In the show, Mr. Schuester, who is affectionately called Mr. Schue, is a Spanish teacher who forms a show choir club in an attempt to relive his glory days from when he was a star in the glee club.

Said Murphy, “When we were writing the pilot, I’ve never really talked about this, that pilot was written for Justin Timberlake. Mr Schue was written for Justin.”

Unfortunately, show hosts Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz, who respectively starred as Artie and Tina on the series, ended the episode after the big reveal. We’ll learn more about Justin’s involvement in the series when the second half of the interview airs next week.

Glee ran for six seasons on the Fox network between 2009 and 2015.

After celebrating the first birthday of her second child, Wave, in September, Cardi B can’t wait to have another baby.

The “Please Me” rapper tweeted three photos of her 13-month-old son Sunday with the comment, “My son so [fire emoji] …. I can’t wait to get business finished and have my third.” In the photos, Wave adorably sits on a bed in what appears to be a furniture store while wearing a gray bubble jacket, matching hat, denim pants and a pair of white boots.

The “business” Cardi referred to may be releasing the followup to her 2018 triple-Platinum debut album, Invasion of Privacy. In the Instagram comments, some fans wrote they wanted new music.

Three months after she released Invasion of Privacy, Cardi and her husband, Offset, had their first child together, daughter Kulture, who is now 4 years old. Since then, the 30-year-old entertainer has focused on being a mother..

For Wave’s first birthday, the power couple made the Labor Day holiday weekend very special with a lavish, car-themed party.

Cardi shared several photos from the celebration, displaying food stations, elaborate desserts, a DJ, arcade games and more. “Words can’t describe how this boy came into my life and stole my heart,” she wrote. “Name fits you perfectly… You the Wave!”

Aquaman baddie Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is swimming over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The acclaimed actor has been tapped to star in Wonder Man, the upcoming small-screen MCU project bound for Disney+, according to Deadline.

This will be the first MCU project for the star, who played the villain Black Manta opposite Jason Momoa in the DC Comics-based Aquaman films.

As previously reported, Wonder Man is based on the character of the same name who was first seen in Marvel Comics in 1964. The character’s alter ego, weapons manufacturer Simon Williams, is a competitor with fellow iron monger Tony Stark, who Williams blames for his father’s company going under. He eventually gets superpowers after a run-in with Baron Helmut Zemo, the baddie played by Daniel Brühl in the MCU, and takes on the wondrous moniker.

Oscar winner Ben Kingsley will reprise as hack actor Trevor Slattery in the project, which is being produced by his Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton.

Marvel Studios is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News.
