Lil Nas X says he got his first tattoo, sharing some photos of the ink job to Instagram. The tattoo, which is a stylized version of the Aries astrological sign, was inked onto his right wrist.

Ellie Goulding stars in the Audible original podcast Crush Hour: A Musical. She stars as a woman named Ash who bumps into an attractive man on the train. She later thinks the handsome stranger wrote about her in the newspaper in hopes of finding her again.

BTS‘ Jin is enjoying a big feat — his Coldplay collab “The Astronaut” has sold over 1 million copies in South Korea in just 16 days. NME reports that’s the fastest-selling single from a solo artist in his native country.

Taylor Swift is not only shaking things up in the American charts, she’s also leading a chart double on Australia’s ARIA charts. Billboard reports her Midnights album and song “Anti-Hero” are leading their respective charts.

Avicii‘s 2015 “Waiting for Love” music video has surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube. It is the late DJ’s second song to reach that milestone, following his 2013 smash hit “Wake Me Up.”

Christina Aguilera performed “Cuando Me Dé la Gana” alongside Christian Nodal at the 2022 Latin Grammy Awards. Entertainment Tonight reports the singer donned a black sequined jumpsuit to belt out the Ranchera-style hit. Christina went into the ceremony with seven nominations and won Best Pop Vocal Album for Aguilera.

Bryson Tiller and Jack Harlow are supportive of each others’ careers, so much so they had planned to team up for a collaborative album. The project never came to fruition, however, because Tiller wasn’t in the right state of mind.

In an interview with Bootleg Kev, the singer explained, “We planned on doing it a little while ago, but he caught me in the middle of depression so I just wasn’t in that mental space to even do that.” He continued, “I ended up not going to Atlanta like we originally planned.”

Bryson and Jack are both natives of Louisville, Kentucky. Before his rise to fame, a teenage Jack DM’d the “Gotta Move On” singer about the influence he had on Jack’s then-budding career.

“I’m a massive fan dude and study your every move,” the rapper told Tiller in a DM he shared earlier this year. “I just turned 17 and I’m very confident in my craft and trajectory of my career.”

Tiller replied, “Thanks man I appreciate it,” along with an encouraging message: “keep working. anything is possible.”

Fast-forward to today: the two have collaborations “Thru the Night” and “Luv Is Dro” under their belts.

Jack’s a Grammy-nominated star, who’s now up for three awards at the 2023 Grammys; Bryson is preparing to release his new album next year.

“I’m just so excited to give people experiences, something that they can attach to a memory that they have going on in life,” he said of the forthcoming project, per Rap-Up.com. “That’s kinda what I really care about right now.”

Bruce Springsteen just released his soul covers record Only The Strong Survive, which is billed as volume 1, so of course fans are wondering when they’ll get to hear volume 2. And it sounds like it’s not too far off.

“Volume 2, I would say, is probably three-quarters recorded,” The Boss tells Rolling Stone, explaining the genre he’ll focus on is “very similar” to the first album. “I continued working in soul music because I was just having so much fun,” he says. “But I thought of doing a series of these records in a variety of different genres with songs that I love.”

Bruce shares that he’s currently not writing anything new, noting, “I might not write in a while,” which is “very normal for me.” But with these cover albums, fans “don’t have to sit around and wait four years for me to make another record.”

Bruce says he’s also interested in tackling covers of country and rock songs: “There’s just so many different things, and all focused around my voice … I’d really like to use this time when I’m not writing to really focus on my vocals.”

And this may not be the only music Bruce is going to release. He seemed to confirm the rumors of a Tracks 2 box set, saying he has “five unreleased albums that are basically post-1988” that he’ll eventually release. While he says some fans felt the ‘90s “wasn’t a great decade” for him, the Tracks set will “give people a chance to reassess what I was doing during that time period,” noting, “I can’t wait to see the response to some of it.”

Ringo Star has dropped a new video for the Linda Perry-penned track “Everyone and Everything,” from his recent release EP3, which just came out on 10-inch vinyl and blue cassette. The colorful clip was directed by pop artist and owner of Los Angeles’ La-La Land Gallery, Kii Arens, who previously directed the video for Glen Campbell’s 2011 track “Ghost on the Canvas.”

“I had so much fun making this record, and I love that the vinyl and this video for it are coming out as we head into Thanksgiving,” Ringo shares. “As I’ve said before, every song on this EP relates to Peace and Love. And this track that Linda wrote for me has such a beautiful message, reminding us to be thankful, to be giving, to be more peace and loving.”

The video features clips of Ringo playing drums on the beach, cut with images of him walking in front of colorful backgrounds, as well as photos from the early days of his life and career.

“I feel we really captured the positive energy of the song in this video, it was so great working with Kii and I loved filming on the beach,” he says. “I hope this brings everyone joy, peace and love as we start heading into the holidays.”

The Doors release last known unreleased tune ‘Paris Blues’

Fans of The Doors are finally getting to hear what’s being called their last known unreleased tune. The track, “Paris Blues,” has been released digitally for the very first time.

The track is part of The Doors’ contribution to Record Store Day Black Friday on November 25. That release, available at independent record stores, will be a limited-edition compilation of rare blues recordings, coming out on translucent blue vinyl. Only 10,000 numbered copies will be available, complete with an original painting by guitarist Robby Krieger.

Although it isn’t clear when “Paris Blues” was recorded, it is believed to be a product of The Doors’ sessions for either 1969’s The Soft Parade or 1971’s L.A. Woman. Keyboardist Ray Manzarek had the only copy of the song, although it was damaged by his son, Pablo, who, as a toddler, recorded over parts of it. It has now been reconstructed, with use of “creative editing.”

Evanescence‘s debut album, Fallen, will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year, and frontwoman Amy Lee has an “idea” on how to mark the occasion.

“It’s gonna take a little bit of work,” Lee tells Rock Sound. “It probably won’t be what everybody expects.”

Lee implies that she wants to do something different from the usual “play an album front-to-back” show or tour that many bands do for milestone anniversaries.

“We’ve been playing so many shows, I would rather do something that, to me, like, I don’t know, I don’t wanna give it away, in case it doesn’t work out,” Lee shares.

“Maybe I’ll do nothing!” she laughs. “Expect nothing, and then if I do something, you’ll be really, really grateful.”

Fallen was released in March 2003 and spawned the hit “Bring Me to Life.” The album’s been certified seven-times Platinum by the RIAA, and it helped Evanescence win Best New Artist at the 2004 Grammys.

Vance Joy once walked out of a songwriting session with One Direction

“Riptide” singer Vance Joy revealed that he could have written a song with One Direction — had he not walked out of it.

Speaking to Australia’s NOVA radio, the singer recalled the “funny story” where he hung out with Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne by pure accident. Vance said he had set off for a songwriting camp in Calabasas, California, and was told the people who would be there “work with One Direction.”

“I rocked up to a songwriting session… And I soon realized that they just must have misplaced the schedule or something and they didn’t know I was coming,” the Australian singer recalled.

“It was a songwriting day for One Direction,” he realized, which meant he unintentionally crashed Louis and Liam’s session. “I was the spare part. I was the absolute spare part, no one knew I was gonna be there.”

The situation “was so awkward,” he said, especially since “none of my ideas were going through,” so he bailed. “I was like, ‘Alright, my Uber is coming, guys,'” the singer laughed.

As for why things went south, Vance explained, “They didn’t expect me and they kind of had their idea of [what] One Direction songs are going down.” On the plus side, Vance said Louis and Liam were both “super nice.”
