Ever since news broke that she was being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Dolly Parton has been promising fans a full album of rock music.

It’s been clear for a while that Dolly’s been busy behind the scenes — she’s even hinted that she’s enlisting some big-name duet partners for the project — but during a Wednesday night stop on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she was ready to drop some concrete details.

“It’s gonna come out next fall,” the singer shares during her conversation with show host Fallon. “And you know what I’m calling it? Rock Stars!”

She goes on to say that the project will feature some original numbers, star cameo appearances and covers of classic rock songs through the years.

“We’re gonna have a lot of great, iconic songs, like ‘Purple Rain,’ and ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,’ and ‘Stairway to Heaven.’ ‘Freebird’! I even did ‘Freebird,’” Dolly continues.

But before she fully immerses herself in her foray into rock music, Dolly has big holiday plans. Her latest Christmas movie, Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas, airs Thursday on NBC. It’ll feature plenty of big-name guest stars, including Fallon, Willie Nelson, Miley Cyrus, Jimmie Allen and more.

The first night of Barry Manilow‘s series of Christmas concerts in Las Vegas wasn’t very merry: It had to be canceled due to a health issue.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Manilow, 79, was scheduled to kick off his A Very Barry Christmas holiday production at Westgate Resort and Casino on Thursday night, but the show was scrapped because the singer was experiencing atrial fibrillation, also known as an abnormal heartbeat.

According to a statement on Manilow’s Twitter account, Manilow was “being treated and will be fine” as of Thursday. He now plans two shows on Friday to make up for the cancellation: One at 4 p.m. and one at 7 p.m.

Manilow’s Christmas shows will run through December 10. In early 2023, he’s scheduled a brief tour that kicks off January 13 in Sunrise, Florida, and wraps up January 21 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He returns to the Westgate for his regular Vegas residency February 16.

As the world reeled from the death of Christine McVie this week, Keith Urban paid tribute to the late, great rock vocalist with a medley of Fleetwood Mac songs during a show in Gold Coast, Australia.

Keith offered his spin on snippets of “Say You Love Me,” “Everywhere” and “Songbird” — all of which McVie wrote solo or had a hand in writing — during his set. After the fact, he shared video footage of his tribute on his social media, with the caption, “Last night in Gold Coast.”

The country star prefaced his Fleetwood Mac medley by acknowledging the loss of “the incredible Christine McVie” and telling the crowd a little bit about what her music, and Fleetwood Mac’s catalog in general, meant to him growing up.

“For me growing up listening to their music, you had three incredible vocalists,” Keith said. “You had Lindsey Buckingham, who brought this kind of punk, angular ethos to the whole thing, and you had Stevie Nicks, whose voice was just angelic, otherworldly.”

The crowd cheered and whooped as Keith went through Fleetwood Mac’s bandmates, finally arriving at McVie. “And then you had Christine, who for me was the maternal, soulful, heartbeat vocal of the band. I just wanna sing a few of her songs tonight,” he concluded.

McVie died on Wednesday at the age of 79. A statement from her family explains that she died “peacefully at hospital” after “a short illness. The family requested privacy and added, “… we would like everyone to keep Christine in their hearts and remember the life of an incredible human being, and revered musician who was loved universally.”

Lady Gaga is loving the “Bloody Mary” TikTok craze inspired by Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’

Netflix has gone and done it again, sparking interest in an obscure song thanks to one of their series.

Just as Stranger Things did with Kate Bush‘s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God),” Netflix’s Wednesday inadvertently turned Lady Gaga‘s 2011 song “Bloody Mary” into a viral hit.

How did this happen?

Wednesday, which stars Jenna Ortega as the beloved Addams Family character, featured a viral scene where she dances very strangely to The Cramps‘ “Goo Goo Muck.” TikTokers became enamored by Ortega’s peculiar dance moves and began making videos of it, but they chose to soundtrack it to a sped-up version of Gaga’s “Bloody Mary.”

Soon enough, “Bloody Mary” began trending as the “Wednesday Dance” song.

The official Wednesday Twitter account took notice of the brewing viral trend and tweeted, “I see you doing my dance moves to @LadyGaga’s Bloody Mary. I understand she is followed by little monsters. I approve.”

It wasn’t long before Gaga caught wind of the shout out and wrote back, “Slay Wednesday! You’re welcome at Haus of Gaga anytime (and bring Thing with you, we love paws around here).”

The situation continued to boil and bubble with TikTok and Netflix’s official Twitter accounts also jumping in on the fun.

“Mom has spoken,” TikTok declared while Netflix hyperventilated, “I’M SCREAMING (just how Wednesday likes it).” Funnily enough, TikTok responded to their comment with, “the girls that get it, get it.”

Fans are now hoping they will soon see Gaga dancing up a storm with Jenna Ortega — or even scoring a cameo in the popular Netflix series.

Reprise Records

Neil Young recently told The New Yorker that he’s glad that one of his most beloved albums — 1972’s Harvest — “was a big successful record,” but he admitted, “I have no idea really why.” Maybe you can figure out why yourself, since the 50th anniversary edition of the classic set is out now.

The Harvest box set, available on CD, digital or vinyl, includes the original album, three outtakes and an unreleased live 1971 BBC solo performance on CD, LP and DVD.

The set also features a DVD of Harvest Time, a two-hour film featuring footage of the making of the album. A hardbound book and fold-out poster rounds out the package.

The three outtakes from the original sessions are “Bad Fog of Loneliness,” “Journey Through the Past” and “Dance Dance Dance.” The live BBC performance includes live versions of “Old Man,” “Heart of Gold,” “Don’t Let It Bring You Down” and “A Man Needs a Maid,” among other songs.

RM of BTS is officially a solo artist following the release of his debut album, Indigo, on Friday.

Speaking with Variety, the K-pop sensation said he began writing songs for his first solo record in 2019, starting with the lead single “Wild Flower.” Said RM, “I think I started to write three songs in 2019. And most of these songs were made to be complete in 2021 and early 2022. They were almost complete before the decisions (about solo careers) and stuff.”

The album, which he said he “just tried to write like a diary,” sees him exploring different genres with the help of multiple collaborators that feature on eight of the record’s 10 tracks.

“I don’t care about the genres,” he said. “I just like the sounds. I like pop because it’s pop. I like rock because it’s rock. I like folk because it’s folk. So I just wanted to try all those things, but I just don’t want it to end as just an experiment.”

RM said he tried to make Indigo “well-balanced — sound-wise, genre-wise, position-wise.”

The rapper admitted he held this project very close to his chest and kept it mostly away from his bandmates.  “We just usually don’t judge or easily advise somebody, because it’s their own,” RM explained before revealing, “The only one I shared the whole music with was J-Hope, because he gave me a listening session before his Jack in the Box came out, so I just paid back the same.”

RM added J-Hope’s favorite track was “Wild Flower” and “Yun,” his collaboration with Erykah Badu.

Indigo is available to stream and purchase now.

Kane Brown had a very special surprise up his sleeve when he took the stage in Ottawa, Canada, on Thursday night: His wife, Katelyn, joined him onstage for the very first performance of their hit duet, “Thank God.”

Both Kane and Katelyn shared video of the moment on their social media accounts, giving fans a front-row look at the performance. The husband-and-wife team gazed into each other’s eyes as they sang, with Kane playing hype man and dancing along as Katelyn took her solo verse.

“My baby’s first time onstage singing our song together,” the singer wrote in the caption of his video post. “She killed it of course and I’m so proud of you!!!!”

In the comments, Katelyn said that she was “speechless” and expressed gratitude to the crowd and her superstar husband for putting her at ease during the performance.

“Thanks babe for making me as comfortable as possible and for everyone being so kind,” she wrote.

“Thank God” is Kane’s current radio single, and it’s rapidly rising up the charts. The track comes off of Kane’s Different Man album and has been in the making for a long time.

“My fans have been waiting for five years for us to sing together,” he told People upon the song’s release, revealing that the couple went through four other duet ideas before settling on “Thank God.”

Offset gave his first performance since the death of his Migos bandmate and cousin Takeoff.

The rapper took the stage at Miami club E11EVEN in the wee hours of Friday morning as part of an Art Basel kickoff party. His wife, Cardi B, was in attendance.

“We’re doing this for my brother,” he told the crowd, according to Page Six. “For Takeoff, let’s do this s***.”

He then performed hits including “Clout” and “Bad and Boujie.”

Takeoff, who was part of the rap trio with Offset and Quavo, was shot and killed November 1 in Houston at the age of 28.

“My heart is shattered and I have so many things to say, but I can’t find the words,” Offset wrote in a statement following Takeoff’s death. “I’ve been going to sleep and waking up hoping that all of this is a dream, but it’s reality, and reality feels like a nightmare.”
