The American Idol season 24 finale Monday featured performances from Shinedown and Mötley Crüe.

Shinedown was joined by contestant Philmon Lee for a medley of the band’s songs “Searchlight” and “Second Chance.” Lee, who was eliminated from the show in April, sang a number of rock songs during his run, including Foreigner’s “Hot Blooded,” Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'” and Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man,” which Shinedown has covered.

Mötley, meanwhile, rocked “Home Sweet Home” and “Kickstart My Heart” alongside past American Idol winner and current judge Carrie Underwood. Underwood previously recorded “Home Sweet Home” to be the farewell song for American Idol season 8.

The finale also featured contestants Jake Thistle and Jesse Findling joining Blues Traveler and Gin Blossoms for renditions of their respective songs “Hook” and “Hey Jealousy.”

The winner of American Idol season 24 is Hannah Harper.

Bring Me the Horizon frontman Oli Sykes was hit with a phone seemingly thrown from someone in the crowd during the band’s show in St. Louis on Monday.

Fan-shot footage shows the phone striking Sykes toward the end of a rendition of the track “Happy Song.”

“Who the f*** just threw a phone at my f****** head?” Sykes said before tossing the phone to what appears to be security near the front of the stage.

Sykes continued on with the show, though as Setlist.fm notes, Bring Me cut one song out of the set, performing 16 tracks instead of the usual 17 they’ve been playing on their ongoing U.S. tour.

Bring Me the Horizon’s tour is scheduled to continue Tuesday in Kansas City, Missouri.

Bonnie Tyler’s rep is shooting down recent reports regarding her health.

“As of this morning Bonnie remains seriously ill but stable in hospital in Faro, however her Doctors are still positive that she will make a full recovery,” reads the statement provided to ABC Audio. “Bonnie’s family are very disappointed at the many lurid and untrue rumours now circulating in the media and would like to make it clear that Liberto Mealha does not represent them in any way whatsoever and is not in contact with them regarding Bonnie.”

Tyler’s rep previously confirmed that doctors had put the “Total Eclipse of the Heart” singer in a medically induced coma to aid in her recovery from intestinal surgery. Liberto Mealha is reportedly a friend of the singer who’s been talking to the media, including the Portuguese paper Correio da Manha that reported 74-year-old Tyler had gone into cardiac arrest when doctors tried to take her out of the coma.

“When there is any further news of Bonnie’s condition then we will issue another statement, but ask that the media cease to speculate or publish wild rumours, which simply serve to upset her family, friends, and many fans, and ask again for privacy and decency at this difficult time,” Tyler’s rep adds.

Tyler, known for her husky voice, rose to fame in the late ’70s and early ’80s. She had her first big hit with with 1977’s “It’s a Heartache,” which peaked at #3 in the U.S. and #4 in the U.K.  But it was the 1983 hit, “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” that launched her career to superstardom, with the track spending four weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

It’s official: NBC confirms Riley Green will join The Voice when it premieres in September.

“I guess y’all can start calling me coach… see ya this fall,” the “Change My Mind” hitmaker teased

Fellow coach Kelly Clarkson left Riley a voicemail welcoming him to the show, going on to jump-start the rivalry that’s sure to ensue between their teams.

The two join longtime coach Adam Levine, who’ll return alongside a fourth celeb to be revealed soon.

Riley’s no stranger to The Voice, having performed “Don’t Mind If I Do” with Ella Langley during the season 26 finale and “Jesus Saves” during the season 28 wrap.

Of course, he’s no stranger to TV either, having recently made his acting debut on Marshals on CBS.

Luke Bryan’s ninth studio album, Signs, is coming Sept. 18, he revealed as he wrapped his ninth season as a judge on American Idol on Monday.

“It is always a great day when I get the chance to release new music,” he says in the news release announcing the record. “I’ve been working on this album for the past year, and I just love how it turned out. I was able to co-write a few, then turn to the writers in Nashville to round them out. I feel like my fans have always let me record songs that make you feel good, so I went into this album wanting everyone to just have fun.”

Luke co-wrote the new track, “Fish Hunt Golf Drink,” which he debuted on the season finale of Idol

It’s the third release from the new album, following “Word on the Street,” the name of his tour that kicks off May 29, and “Country and She Knows It,” his current top-25 hit.

On Friday, he kicks off his annual Farm Tour in Clovis, California.

Dan + Shay have been performing during the Academy of Country Music Awards since the 50th anniversary show at AT&T Stadium in Dallas in 2015, just as they’ll be Sunday for the 61st ceremony in Vegas.

But the hitmaking duo admits they still get some butterflies — and with good reason.

“The last time we performed at the ACMs, we opened the show,” Dan Smyers recalls. “It was the Songs of the Decade moment and we did ‘Tequila’ for the 2010s. And I looked out and George Strait was out there. I feel like that definitely makes you nervous.”

“But I think it makes you step up your game a little bit. It makes you rise to the occasion,” he reflects. “When you look out and see George Strait, it’s like, ‘We gotta bring it!’ And I feel good about that performance. It was good.”

“Knock on wood, we haven’t had any total, crazy mess-ups yet,” he adds. “But I think it’s inspiring to look out and see your peers.”

But Dan also says it goes even deeper than that.

“Country music is such a family. Everybody’s so supportive of each other. You know, you look out and see our friends Cody Johnson or Megan Moroney or whoever it is singing the words to your songs, and you’re like, ‘This is awesome, man!’ Like, it kinda makes you feel like you belong.”

Dan + Shay go into the 61st ACM Awards with seven trophies to their credit and another nomination for duo of the year.

You can tune in to watch their performance live from MGM Grand Garden Arena Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on Prime Video.

Was Taylor Swift searching for some wedding inspiration when she popped up in Greece for the wedding of one of Travis Kelce’s teammates?

Taylor and Travis were seen in London last week dining out, going to the theater and attending the birthday party of Cara Delevingne’s sister Poppy. But according to People, the couple later touched down in Glyfada, Greece, on Saturday to attend the wedding of Chiefs defensive end George Karlaftis and his bride, Kaia Harris.

The couple — especially Taylor — reportedly kept a low profile throughout the traditional Greek Orthodox celebration. According to Huff Post Greece, Taylor “danced the night away, chatted with guests, waited alone in line for food at the buffet, and impressed those who met her with her simplicity and friendliness.”

The publication also claims that Taylor and Travis arrived in Greece by private plane and stayed on “her boat near the hotel where the reception took place.”

“We have such cool friends, and the people we invited were just the best,” George told People of the three-day celebration, which featured 220 guests. “Everyone got along, made new friends, and danced together. I couldn’t have asked for a better day and night, honestly.”

Paul McCartney set out to do something ‘different’ with ‘The Boys of Dungeon Lane’

Paul McCartney is getting ready to release his new album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, which was produced by Andrew Watt, the producer behind The Rolling Stones’ 2023 album, Hackney Diamonds, and their upcoming release, Foreign Tongues.

Dungeon Lane has McCartney in a reflective mood, looking back on his life. But when it came to the sound of the album, McCartney didn’t want to be inspired by the past.

“If you’re working with the Stones, they’ve got the Stones sound. It’s kind of the opposite with me – we’re trying not to do that,” McCartney says. “The way we approached this album was: We’ve done that before. Let’s do it different.”

McCartney and Watt worked on the album for four years, despite McCartney having an interesting first impression of the producer.

“I came away from the first session thinking, well, I like him, but he’s a bit pushy,” McCartney tells the mag. “But pushy’s not a bad thing in a producer,” he added. “It’s just enthusiasm from someone who wants to keep making this record. It’s infectious.”

The Boys of Dungeon Lane, McCartney’s first solo record since 2020’s McCartney III, will be released May 29. Ahead of the release, McCartney will be the musical guest on the season finale of Saturday Night Live on May 16.
