Thirty years ago next week — August 3, 1993, to be exact — Sheryl Crow released her major-label debut album, Tuesday Night Music Club. Now, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-bound artist has released a 30th anniversary version of the album that made her into a star.

A new Dolby Atmos mix of the album is now available, bringing 360-degree immersive sound to the record, which includes hits like “All I Wanna Do,” “Strong Enough,” “Run Baby Run” and “Leaving Las Vegas.”

Tuesday Night Music Club has been RIAA-certified seven times Platinum, making it Sheryl’s best-selling release. It also earned her three Grammy Awards: Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

The title of the album came from a group of musicians who used to meet casually on Tuesdays to write songs: they called themselves the Tuesday Night Music Club. When Sheryl joined, all of its members came together to work on her album — a situation that later led to a feud over who had contributed what to the project.

On This Day, July 28, 1973…

Grateful DeadAllman Brothers Band and the Band headlined the Summer Jam at Watkins Glen rock festival in upstate New York.

Held at the Watkins Glen Grand Prix Raceway, an estimated 600,000 fans attended the concert, which was a Guinness Record for the “largest audience at a pop festival.”

Of the 600,000 in attendance, about 150,000 tickets were actually sold in advance for about $10, with the rest of the audience basically allowed in for free. Like 1969’s Woodstock, the concert caused a huge traffic jam in the area, with many fans abandoning their cars on the highway and walking to the concert.

Following the Summer Jam, no other concert had been held at the venue until Phish held a three-day concert, Super Ball IX, in 2011. They held a second one, Magnaball, in 2015.

Queen Production Ltd.

Queen always loves to surprise their audience, and one of those examples is the subject of this week’s episode of the band’s weekly YouTube series Queen The Greatest Live

The video features the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers performing a cover of the Little Richard classic “Tutti Frutti” at Wembley Stadium during their 1986 Magic Tour, a song most fans probably weren’t expecting to hear. The cover starts out acoustic and then quickly explodes, featuring Roger Taylor’s thunderous drumming, and a Brian May solo on his Red Special guitar.

As for why they chose it, May told Total Guitar earlier this year, “When I first heard Little Richard, it was a moment of shock, but there was also the joy of realizing that people could actually sing that way – they could scream their emotions.”

And coming next week – “Big Spender”

Madonna is definitely feeling better.

Following her hospitalization earlier in July for what was described as a “serious bacterial infection,” the Queen of Pop put her much-anticipated Celebration tour, which was to have started July 15, on hold. She then announced that she’d be rescheduling the North American leg of the tour and starting the tour in Europe in October.

But the pop icon seems to be well on her way to a total recovery: She’s now able to dance, and showed off some moves on Instagram on July 27. “To be able to move my body and dance just a little bit makes me feel like the Luckiest Star in the world!” she captioned the video, while her song “Lucky Star” played in the background.

“Thank you to all of my fans and friends! You must be my lucky stars too!” she continued. “And Happy 40th Birthday to my very. First Album.”

Her self-titled debut, which features “Lucky Star” — as well as “Borderline,” “Burnin’ Up” and “Holiday” — was released July 27, 1983.

The Weeknd, who recently collaborated with Madonna on the song “Popular,” commented, “You dropped this” with a crown emoji.
