The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Thursday night, where he talked about The Stones’ new album Foreign Tongues.

During the chat it was revealed that Wood recorded a nine-minute guitar solo for a song called “Back in Your Life,” although he said it was eventually cut down to four or five minutes.

“I’ll tell you what, I was so moved that day, and disappointed and sad and I had so much feeling because Brian Wilson died that day,” Wood said, referring to the late Beach Boys legend, who died in June 2025. “And that week Sly Stone died too and I thought, oh no, it’s so sad. It came out through my guitar, the feeling you know.”

Wood added that he did the solo in one take, but noted, “I didn’t do that, the guitar played itself.”

Another tidbit about the album: Fallon mentioned that it features a cover of the Amy Winehouse track “You Know I’m No Good,” which appeared on her 2006 Grammy-winning album Back to Black.

Foreign Tongues, The Stones’ first album since 2023’s Hackney Diamonds, will be released July 10. It is available for preorder now.

Paul McCartney has released the latest track from his upcoming solo album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, and it is a collaboration with his former Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr, marking their first-ever duet together.

The track, “Home to Us,” also features backing vocals from Pretenders frontwoman Chrissie Hynde and Sharleen Spiteri from the band Texas.

“This song [was] done totally with Ringo in mind,” McCartney said when first announcing the track. “In writing the song, I’m talking about where we came from. In common with a lot of people, you come from nothing and you build yourself up,”

“Even though it was crazy, it was home to us,” he added, referring to his and Starr’s rough Liverpool upbringing.

“Home to Us” is available now via digital outlets. It is the second song McCartney has released from The Boys of Dungeon Lane following “Days We Left Behind.”

The Boys of Dungeon Lane, McCartney’s first solo album since 2020’s McCartney III, will be released May 29 and is available for preorder now.

The 50th anniversary of an iconic Grateful Dead concert will be celebrated in Boston in June.

The Folk Americana Roots Hall of Fame and Rhino Records have teamed for a special event marking the anniversary of the band’s June 11, 1976, concert at the Boston Music Hall, now known as the Boch Center Wang Theatre.

Shakedown at Boston Music Hall: Grateful Dead 50th Anniversary Celebration 6/11/76 – 6/11/26 will take place June 11, 50 years to the day of the original concert. It will take place at the Boch Center’s Grand Lobby and feature a performance by Dead tribute band Playing Dead.

It will also include Dead-themed food and beverages, including Dogfish Head Brewery’s Grateful Dead Citrus Daydream and Juicy Pale Ale on tap, plus merch and more. There will also be an exhibit highlighting The Dead’s history in Boston.

The 1976 concert was the fifth show in The Dead’s comeback tour after an extended hiatus. Grateful Dead historian David Lemieux notes, “The perfection they achieved on this tour is on full display on June 11, 1976, in Boston.”

A special five-LP recording of the concert was recently released for Record Store Day.

“The Dead played here more than a dozen times, but this show, 50 years ago, stands out as one of the absolute highlights of the Wang Theatre’s 100-year history. We have hosted some incredible acts from Bruce Springsteen and Aerosmith to Whitney Houston and Lady Gaga, and the Dead show remains an all-time fan favorite,” said Casey Soward, president and CEO of the Boch Center. “We look forward to welcoming everyone to this historic theatre in partnership with Rhino Records as we pay homage to one of the greatest shows in the Dead’s extensive catalog.”

Bonnie Tyler has been put in a medically induced coma as she recovers from emergency intestinal surgery, a rep for the 74-year-old singer confirms to ABC Audio.

“Bonnie has been put into an induced coma by her Doctors to aid her recovery,” her rep says in a statement. “We know that you all wish her well and [we] ask for privacy at this difficult time please. We will issue a further statement when we are able to.”

On Wednesday, a post on the “Total Eclipse of the Heart” singer’s website revealed that she has been admitted to a hospital in Faro, Portugal, for the surgery. The post noted, “The surgery went well and she is now recuperating.”

As of now, Tyler’s website still lists her upcoming tour dates. Her next show is scheduled for May 22 at the SummerLUST Music Festival in Għaxaq, Malta. She has European and U.K. dates booked through Dec. 17 in Cardiff, Wales.

Patti Smith is one of the artists booked for Rise Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First Amendment, a live event happening June 14 at Town Hall in New York City.

The event is being put on by the free speech advocacy group Committee for the First Amendment, founded by actress and activist Jane Fonda. It is described as “an evening of song, solidarity, and action that will celebrate the freedoms guaranteed by our First Amendment, of speech, religion, press, assembly, and protest.”

Fonda is also part of the night’s lineup, along with Bette Midler, Rufus Wainwright, Joy Reid, Sasha Allen and Broadway Inspirational Voices, with more artists to be announced.

“Music has long been a tool to stand up to authoritarianism, and I am honored to spend the evening with these fiercely committed, talented, and brilliant people to celebrate our First Amendment rights,” said Fonda. “As we continue to watch bad faith leaders take more and more power, it is critical that we gather together, raise our voices collectively, and stand united against this administration – and have some fun while doing it.”

Rise Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First Amendment will be streamed online for free, with watch parties planned across the country.

Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster and the event’s website. Proceeds will support the Committee for the First Amendment’s work.

Billy Joel’s concert documentary The Last Play at Shea is getting a special outdoor screening as part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the Tribeca Festival.

The documentary, which debuted at the Tribeca Festival in 2010, will screen at Hudson Yards in New York City on June 4 at 7 p.m. ET. The screening is part of Tribeca at 25: Celebrating the Stories We Share, a series of outdoor screenings of films tied to the history of the festival.

The Last Play at Shea, directed by Paul Crowder, is centered around Joel’s two 2008 concerts at New York’s Shea Stadium, the final concerts at the home of the New York Mets before its demolition. In addition to footage of the concerts, the doc explored the history of the stadium and the team, and featured interviews with Joel.

The concerts also featured guest appearances by Tony Bennett, The Who’s Roger Daltrey, Paul McCartney and others.

The Tribeca Festival is taking place June 3-14 in New York City.

Steve Cropper passed away in December, but fans will be getting new music from the late Booker T. and the M.G.’s guitarist this summer.

Watching the Tide, the album Cropper and his band The Midnight Hour were working on prior to his death, will be posthumously released on Aug. 28. It will feature guest appearances by Eric Clapton, Queen’s Brian May, ZZ Top’s Billy F Gibbons and The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood.

The first single off the album, “Ticket First,” featuring Clapton, is available now via digital outlets.

“Making music was Steve’s greatest joy,” says songwriter/producer Jon Tiven, a close friend of Cropper’s. He adds that Cropper was “so encouraged” by his 2024 album, Friendlytown, “He was adamant he wanted to do another record.”

Tiven says 10 of the 11 tracks on Watching the Tide were finished before Cropper’s death, and he got to hear them before he passed.

“I finished the mixes about a week-and-a-half before Steve passed and we brought a CD to him at the medical facility,” he says. “He called me the night before he passed to tell me how much he loved it. He was playing it for everyone who came to visit him, telling them it was the best record he’d ever made.”

Watching the Tide, the title a nod to the Otis Redding classic “(Sittin’ on) The Dock of the Bay,” which Cropper co-wrote, is available for preorder now.

Mick Jagger got a chance to show off his comedic chops when he stopped by The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night.

The Rolling Stones frontman took part in a comedy sketch, “Real People Fake Arms.” Setting up the premise, Fallon claimed to have starred in a British soap opera in the ’90s called Jacob’s Patience, noting that his co-star was difficult because he wouldn’t use his arms in any of the scenes. Instead, he used mannequin arms, so the show’s director made everyone else use them as well.

Fallon noted that while it sounded crazy, “if you watched it you’d never be able to tell.”

He then threw to a clip of the show, where, of course, you could totally tell. The clip showed Jimmy at a jewelry store called Hackney Diamonds, after The Stones’ 2023 album, with Mick playing the sales person.

“Please to meet you, I hope you guess my name,” Jagger said as he introduced himself to Fallon, a reference to The Stones’ classic “Sympathy for the Devil.”

The sketch then captured Jagger showing Fallon some jewelry pieces for a Mother’s Day gift for Fallon’s wife, all the while using his awkward mannequin arms, which led to several absurd interactions, including Jagger “booping” Fallon a few times.

There was also another Rolling Stones reference, when Fallon noted he couldn’t afford one of the suggested pieces and said, “You can’t always get what you want.”

Jagger’s appearance comes just one day after The Rolling Stones announced their new album, Foreign Tongues, is coming out July 10. Keith Richards is expected to stop by The Tonight Show Thursday, and Ronnie Wood is making an appearance on May 13.

Paul McCartney’s new solo album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, will be celebrated with record store release parties across the country.

The two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Famer revealed a list of record stores hosting the events May 29-31. The Instagram announcement noted that the parties will include postcard party favors and tote bags that come with the purchase of the album, plus a chance to win an undisclosed “special prize.”

Those attending will also have the chance to purchase a special limited-edition silver vinyl variant of the album, which will only be available at the parties.

The Boys of Dungeon Lane, dropping May 29, is McCartney’s first solo album since 2020’s McCartney III. It is described as “a collection of rare and revealing glimpses into memories never-before shared along with some newly inspired love songs.”

The album includes the song “Home to Us,” a collaboration with McCartney’s Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr, which will be released Friday. The song also features Pretenders frontwoman Chrissie Hynde and Sharleen Spiteri from the band Texas.

Heart’s Ann Wilson has announced a new set of tour dates with her band Tripsitter.

The trek kicks off Sept. 11 in The Villages, Florida, hitting cities in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Alabama, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, New York and more, before wrapping Oct. 9 in Ridgefield, Connecticut.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday at 10 a.m. local time.

Wilson and Tripsitter released their first album together, Another Door, in 2023.

Next up for Wilson, she’s set to embark on a screening and Q&A tour in support of her upcoming documentary, In My Voice. The tour, which also features the film’s director, Barbara Hall, begins May 11 in Seattle and wraps June 1 in Boston.

The film follows the 75-year-old Wilson from her childhood to stardom in Heart and features personal home movies, photographs, journals and never-before-seen footage. It also includes contributions from the singer’s family, bandmates, fellow artists and more.
