A new documentary about The Police drummer Stewart Copeland is getting its world premiere in London.

The film, Copeland, will premiere as part of the Raindance Film Festival, with screenings on Friday and Saturday.

According to U.K. outlet The Independent, Copeland talks in the film of being “heartbroken” by what happened when The Police were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

While Copeland, Sting and Andy Summers did reunite to perform three songs together at the ceremony, afterward Sting and Summers simply walked off the stage, with Copeland noting, “I never saw The Police again that night.”

“I was heartbroken,” he says. “Does that mean nothing? Come on, guys. And I never saw them again.”

“It was strange that we came together and went apart, you know?” Copeland tells The Independent. “I hung out with The Clash instead … I felt more bonhomie with The Clash than I did [with] my own band.”

The trio did eventually get back together for a reunion tour in 2007, which lasted until 2008.

Copeland is currently on his Have I Said Too Much? – The Police, Hollywood, and Other Adventures spoken word tour. His next show is Tuesday in Phoenix. A complete list of dates can be found at StewartCopeland.net.

Tesla’s upcoming covers album, Homage, features one original song, and now fans are getting to hear it.

The “Signs” rockers have just released the track “Never Alone,” which bassist Brian Wheat says he “wrote in the 11th hour of recording the album Homage.”

Wheat explains that the song “started out as a simple guitar riff,” which he came up with while waiting to film an episode of Rachael Ray’s TV show.

He says he “started strumming these chords to kill some time,” noting, “When I listened back to it, it sounded like a Tesla song.”

Lead singer Jeff Keith agreed, and then they came up with the title “Never Alone” and started working on it. “I think it turned out pretty good,” Wheat adds.

Homage, dropping July 17, has the band covering songs by such artists as Queen, Bob Seger, Supertramp, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Creedence Clearwater Revival, James Brown and Elvis Presley.

The album is available for preorder now.

Tesla is set to join Mötley Crüe on their The Return of the Carnival of Sins Tour, which begins July 17 in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. A complete list of dates can be found at Teslatheband.com.

Lenny Kaye, the longest-serving member of the Patti Smith Group, is getting ready to release his debut solo album, Goin’ Local, and he’s offering fans another preview of the record.

The rocker has dropped the track “The Things You Leave Behind,” described in a press release as “a meditation on collecting, memory and legacy.”

“I see ‘The Things You Leave Behind’ as something that resonates with anyone who collects cultural objects and memorabilia,” says Kaye. “It reflects that instinct to gather things and the question of what to do with them over time.”

This is the third track Kaye has released from Goin’ Local, following the title track and “Solstice,” which he co-wrote with Patti Smith.

Goin’ Local will be released July 17 and is available for preorder now.

Next up, Kaye will sit down for a conversation with The Sopranos star Michael Imperioli for a special Grammy Museum evening in New York City on June 23. Tickets and info can be found at GrammyMuseum.org.

Rod Stewart has postponed more shows as he recovers from vocal issues.

Stewart has moved his June 15 and 16 shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, to Sept. 2 and 3, 2027. The venue announced the news on their social media pages.

“Following examinations at Colorado Voice Clinic this afternoon, Dr. David Opperman has prescribed vocal rest for Rod Stewart,” reads the post. “Evaluation revealed significant inflammation and strain of the vocal folds, making it impossible for him to safely perform without the risk of further injury and potential long-term damage to his voice.”

“Rod is deeply disappointed and sincerely apologizes to his fans for this inconvenience,” the post continues. “He looks forward to returning to the stage as soon as he is medically cleared.”

Stewart canceled his show in San Diego Friday, blaming an acute upper respiratory infection that resulted in laryngitis. Many fans were angry when, less than 24 hours later, he posted a video of him and sons Liam and Alastair Stewart flying to Boston to catch Scotland play in the World Cup. In the clip, he sounded somewhat congested but was still able to talk.

Stewart’s next scheduled show is happening June 19 in West Valley City, Utah.

On This Day, June 16, 1972: David Bowie released ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’

On This Day, June 16, 1972 …

David Bowie released his fifth studio album, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. The album featured such future Bowie classics as “Starman” and “Suffragette City.”

The tale of a bisexual alien rock star sent to save mankind initially received mixed reviews, but it was later hailed as one of the greatest, most influential albums of all time.

Bowie remained in character as Ziggy for his Ziggy Stardust Tour until it ended July 3, 1973, at London’s Odeon Theater. The final performance was filmed for a documentary/concert film, which was released in August 1979.

In 2023, to mark the 50th anniversary of that final show, a special world premiere screening of a restored version of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars: The Motion Picture took place at London’s Eventim Apollo Hammersmith, formerly known as the Odeon.
