Karsen Liotta, the 23-year-old daughter of Goodfellas star Ray Liotta, posted a tribute to him on Instagram Thursday, following his untimely death last month.

On a throwback photo of herself as a young girl, being carried by her famous father, she captioned, “Those who knew him, loved him. You are the best Dad anyone could ask for. I love you. Thank you for everything,” following it with a heart emoji.

Liotta died in his sleep at 67 on May 26 in the Dominican Republic, where he was with his fiancée Jacy Nittolo while shooting a movie.

Among those who were first to respond to the sweet post was writer-director Joe Carnahan, who directed Liotta in the acclaimed cop movie Narc. “He was the best,” Carnahan agreed. The Boss Level filmmaker had posted a lengthy tribute to the star when news broke of his passing, saying in part, “I will never be able to adequately describe what this man did for me.”

Incidentally, Liotta explained on Live with Kelly and Ryan that it was his daughter who introduced him to his fiancée Nittolo. Karsen and Nittolo’s son Chazz are friends, and she thought her father and her friend’s mom would hit it off. Liotta and Nittolo announced their engagement in December of 2020.

Demi Lovato is back — by the skin of her teeth.

The 29-year-old singer dropped their new single “Skin Of My Teeth” on Friday along with the visuals to match. Both the track and the video introduce a new rock era for Demi, which she told Jimmy Fallon during an appearance on The Tonight Show on Thursday, was actually a return to her roots, noting, “that’s what I started singing when I released my first album, second album…”

Over a background of drums and guitar, Demi openly references her previous drug struggles and mental health.

“Demi leaves rehab again / When is this s*** gonna end? / Sounds like the voice in my head / I can’t believe I’m not dead,” she powerfully opens the song.

Meanwhile, in the music video, viewers watch as Demi soaks in a bathtub while wearing a white tee, eventually having to fight off the grim reaper who “knocks on my door.”

“I’m alive by the skin of my teeth / I survived, but it got harder to breathe /Askin’ why doesn’t make it easier / Go easier on me,” she pleads in the chorus.

“Skin Of My Teeth” is the leading single off Demi’s forthcoming eighth studio album HOLY F***, which is due out August 19. Demi told Fallon she’s especially proud of this release.

“I came out of treatment again and I realized like, I really wanna do this for myself and I want to make the best album possible, something that you know, really represents who I am” she said, adding, “The easiest way to do something the most authentic is to do it clean and sober. I made this album clean and sober, I can’t say that about my last album.”

The accompanying tour is set to kick off on August 13.

Jeff Goldblum and director Colin Trevorrow dish on making ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’

The gang is back together in Jurassic World Dominion, out today.

Jeff Goldblum returns as chaos theory specialist Dr. Ian Malcolm. It’s a world where dinosaurs now roam freely, interacting with humans, but is that a world Goldblum would want to live in?

“No,” he tells ABC Audio with a laugh. “I feel like I have experienced it. It’s amazing and sometimes unpleasant.”

JWD is the first in the franchise since the original in 1993 to reunite Goldblum, Laura Dern, and Sam Neill, and Goldblum says it felt like “I’d been drenched and purged with dopamine.”

“We had an amazing experience with Steven Spielberg 30 years ago, and so getting back together with them was just great and rich in nostalgia and current focused, vibrant, robust, creative attack.”

Even with the reunion, don’t expect the film to be dripping in nostalgia.

Director Colin Trevorrow explains, “I have to take the risk of telling a new story because when you watch all six of these movies together, if you’re a kid born today, you’re not going to know nostalgia when it comes to any of this.”

There may not be nostalgia, but what runs through the entire franchise is a message about environmentalism.

“This movie is very much about humility in the face of nature’s power,” Trevorrow shares.

“The fact that we made it during this pandemic where we were all very afraid as to whether we were going to survive the future, creates a tone in the film… that all of these characters are not really sure if the future is going to be better than the past,” he says. “And I like the we end on a note of hope in the idea that we actually can survive if we learn to coexist and we move forward together.”

Jordan Peele’s final ‘Nope’ trailer reveals laughs amid danger from the sky

Jordan Peele’s final ‘Nope’ trailer reveals laughs amid danger from the sky
Universal Pictures

Oscar-winning Get Out writer-director Jordan Peele‘s upcoming thriller, Nope, has been shrouded in mystery, but a final trailer shows the plot taking shape.

Jordan’s Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer play a brother and sister who are left to pick up the pieces after their rancher father dies suddenly. However, he can’t help but shake the feeling that something killed their dad — and it has something to do with the creepy clouds that play above their homestead and the apparent alien spaceship he swears he saw.

Together, the pair set up a scheme to finally catch an alien on camera — or, as teased by Steven Yuen‘s showboating cowboy entertainer, perhaps to physically catch one to show off to a paying crowd.

However, as with all of Jordan’s thrillers, it’s likely there’s much more to the project than what appears. Moviegoers will have to see for themselves July 22.

HBO has released a first-look photo of Game of Thrones veterans Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as, respectively, Joel and Ellie in the network’s adaptation of the hit video game series The Last of Us.

As reported, the series will follow the events of the game: Mandalorian star Pascal plays Joel, a smuggler ferrying teenaged Ellie out of a dangerous quarantine zone and across a post-apocalyptic United States.

In addition to the picture, which shows Joel and Ellie hiding in the shadows, the network announced during Summer Game Fest that Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker — who respectively voiced Ellie and Joel in the game and its sequel — have also joined the cast.

However, with their roles already filled, they’ll be playing different characters.

The cast also includes Nick Offerman, Jeffrey Pierce, Anna Torv and Terminator: Dark Fate‘s Gabriel Luna.

The show is set to debut June 14, 2023.

“I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince … but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess.” That’s how Rebel Wilson revealed her new girlfriend, Ramona Agruma.

The Pitch Perfect franchise star made it Instagram official Thursday, adding #LoveIsLove to the smiling pic of the pair.

Agruma is listed on Instagram as the founder of the Los Angeles-based sustainable clothing brand Lemon Ve Limon, and she’s also a brand ambassador for the jewelry company BEE GODDESS.

Wilson, 42, recently told People friends had set her up with the person she was dating, but didn’t reveal who her new squeeze was.

“We spoke on the phone for weeks before meeting. And that was a really good way to get to know each other,” she told the magazine at the time. “It was a bit old-school in that sense — very romantic.”

Rebel added, “I think going through the process of finding more self-worth, I think that what you want in a partner is elevated, and so it’s great to have someone who feels like an equal partner and be in a healthy relationship,” added Wilson.

While she called her exes “great,” the Senior Year star said, “There were some times that I was probably putting up with that I shouldn’t have,” adding, “it feels different to be in a really healthy relationship.”

A friend tells the magazine, “Rebel’s in an amazing place and I’ve never seen her happier.”

Incidentally, Agruma also appears in an Instagram photo Rebel posted a few weeks ago, while the star and producer was having dinner with Hermès executive Michael Coste.

Colin Farrell will star in and executive produce an Apple TV+ series called Sugar, ABC Audio has confirmed.

The show is described as a “genre-bending series” created by I Am Legend and Thor writer Mark Protosevich, who is also producing with the actor.

The show is just the latest small-screen project for the True Detective star Farrell, who as reported will also be starring in an HBO Max spin-off of The Batman centering on his Penguin character.

The latter was ordered as a series back in March, shorty after Farrell won raves for a nearly unrecognizable turn as greasy gangster Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin in Matt Reeves‘ hit film The Batman.

Charlie Carver, along with his twin brother, Max, played the character’s bodyguards in the film. Incidentally, he recently recalled to ABC Audio when he first realized that his onscreen boss was Farrell.

“We’re in a huddle with Matt and Zoe [Kravitz] and Jeffrey [Wright] and Rob [Robert Pattinson] and everybody else who is on the scene. And this guy waddles up with a Brooklyn accent and a suit on.”

He says with a laugh, “You’re like, ‘Whose agent is that?'”

“And this guy starts talking and then immediately drops into an … Irish brogue, like, ‘Oh, my God, that’s Colin Farrell.’ I did not recognize him at all. But you just had a, you know, immediate sense of like, ‘Well, that’s The Penguin.'”

Variety‘s ongoing Actors on Actors series often results in some interesting conversations, but in the case of its latest installment, it may have ended up creating a romantic comedy starring Sebastian Stan and Jennifer Aniston.

The Marvel movie star and Pam & Tommy lead admitted to being a big fan of the former Friends friend, and they explored the show’s enduring fandom.

Stan admitted, “I’ve gone through a lot of lonely nights with Friends ...”

Aniston gets the appeal. “It’s a friend to have in the room sometimes.”

The Morning Show star and producer also told Stan, “You would have been a great cast member … You would have been a Joey.”

The actor disagreed, adding, “I always came closest to Chandler, because I get very, sort of, neurotic.”

Stan asked what the recent Friends reunion special was like for the show’s cast.

“I don’t know we expected for it to sucker punch us as hard as it did in the emotional gut,” Aniston says, adding, “Literally, every single nook on a shelf was the same. It was so creepy.”

She related it to “time travel,” saying the cast wasn’t ready for the “explosion” of fame the series brought. “Thank God we had each other, because we really couldn’t talk about it outside. It was before social media, so we still had some sanity,” she recalled.

During the course of their conversation, the two stars stumbled upon a mutual love of romantic comedies. “Why do they have such a bad rap these days … wouldn’t that be fun to do one?” Aniston asked.

“[I’d] do one in a second with you,” Stan replied of a possible New York City-based project. “They could probably write that very quickly.”

Aniston replied, “Great. We’re gonna do a rom-com. So exciting. We’re bringing them back.”
