A civil jury on Tuesday found Bill Cosby guilty of sexually abusing Judy Huth in 1975 when she was 16 years old, and ordered him to pay $500,000, according to Variety.

Huth’s attorney, Gloria Allred, hailed the verdict as “real change,” although no punitive compensation was awarded.

“She fought Bill Cosby one step at a time for over seven-and-a-half years,” added Allred, praising Huth, having “proved with the jury’s verdict that Mr. Cosby did sexually assault her when she was a minor, and that he should be held and was held accountable for what he did to her.”

“I was elated,” Huth said outside the courthouse, telling reporters that she is grateful for the jury. “It’s been so many years, so many tears, it’s just a long time coming.”

Cosby’s team, including his spokesperson Andrew Wyatt, also appeared to be pleased when the verdict contained no punitive damages.

Huth, now 64, accused Cosby of luring her and a friend to the mansion a few days after meeting them in a park. She alleged that Cosby got her alone in a bedroom, pulled down his sweatpants and then grabbed her hand, using it to perform a sexual act.

On Tuesday, the jury found that Cosby intended to cause a harmful or offensive contact with Huth and that a “sexually offensive contact” resulted, while also finding that Hugh was harmed by Cosby’s conduct. The jury concluded that any “normal person, without hesitation” would have been “disturbed, irritated, offended or injured” by Cosby’s conduct.

Florence Pugh will star in and co-produce the new limited series Netflix is developing based on the classic novel East of Eden, Deadline reported Tuesday.

Zoe Kazan will executive produce and write for the series. This project is personal to her, as she is the granddaughter of director Elia Kazan, who previously adapted the novel into a 1955 film that launched the career of James Dean.

“I fell in love with East of Eden when I first read it, in my teens,” Kazan told Deadline. “Since then, adapting Steinbeck’s novel – the great, sprawling, three-generational entirety of it – has been my dream.”

Kazan also expressed deep gratitude for Pugh’s casting, and for the opportunity to tell antiheroine Cathy Ames’ story.

“Florence Pugh is our dream Cathy; I can’t imagine a more thrilling actor to bring this character to life,” she said. “Writing this limited series over the last two years has been the creative highpoint of my life.”

Christian Bale didn’t know what the MCU was before playing ‘Thor’ villain

Christian Bale finally joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the villainous Gorr the God Butcher in the new film Thor: Love and Thunder, but the former caped crusader claims he had no idea what the MCU was before he joined the project.

In an interview with Total Film Magazine that was published Tuesday, The Dark Knight star denied having any reservations about playing another comic book character, saying, “That didn’t even enter my head at all. I’d read that, and people would go, ‘Oh, look at this! He’s entered the MCU!'”

The only problem: Bale didn’t know what the acronym meant.

“I’d go, ‘I’ve done what? I haven’t entered s*** thank you very much,'” he said. “I’m like, ‘The MCU?’ I had to ask what that was.”

Love and Thunder, slated for a July 8 theatrical release, is the fourth film in the Thor franchise. It follows the god of thunder (Chris Hemsworth) on his quest for inner peace, and also stars Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson and Russell Crowe.

Marvel is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News.

It’s a battle of the brothers on the new teen romance series The Summer I Turned Pretty, which dropped its first season last week on Prime Video.

Sean Kaufman co-stars as Steven Conklin, childhood best friend to brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno).

The most sought-after boys in Cousins Beach all gave ABC Audio their takes on who they think Belly, played by Lola Tung, should be with at the end of the series.

Well, almost all of them did. Kaufman couldn’t pick between Briney’s mysterious Conrad or Casalegno’s fun-loving Jeremiah.

“If I say one answer, either way, I’m going to walk out of here fisticuffs with one of them,” he said. “I will say, for Steven, he knows Belly is in love with Conrad. Jeremiah, that’s a shocker.”

Naturally, both Fisher brothers took the time to defend themselves.

“Conrad understands that he has a lot to learn,” Briney said. “I think he understands that he needs to work on himself. And I think that’s an important thing for someone who you want to be with.”

Casalegno went in full force for Team Jeremiah, arguing that “what you really want in a relationship is to be with your best friend, not with, like, sparks at the moment, because those are only temporary. And I think that best friendship will last you a lifetime.”

While we don’t know who Belly will choose when it’s all said and done, one thing is for certain – the series has been renewed for season two. Briney teased what he’s most looking forward to in the show’s second season.

“I’m excited for the happy ever after to be shattered, because that’s not a real thing,” he said. “This isn’t the end of all their relationships, it’s the beginning. There’s so much more to be learned.”

Kristen Bell is manifesting another Frozen film.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Monday night, the actress teased, “I would like to officially announce, with zero authority, Frozen 3.”

But before anyone could get too excited, she added, “Please bear in mind I did say ‘zero authority,’ ’cause I can’t. I can’t do that – I’m not in charge.”

Fallon pushed a bit further, asking if there was anything in the works.

“Well, you know, I’ll keep it mysterious,” she said. “But I know Idina [Menzel] recently said she would do it and I feel like if we’re all in, what are we waiting for?”

Bell voiced Anna in the first two Frozen films, the younger sister to Menzel’s Elsa. Frozen II was released in 2019.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are opening up about their experience with fertility struggles.

In a new interview with People, Murgatroyd revealed she has suffered three miscarriages in the last few years, including one in October 2021 when Chmerkovskiy was in Ukraine working as a judge on the country’s version of Dancing with the Stars.

The pro dancer and her husband are parents to five-year-old son Shai and said they have wanted to give their son a sibling for years.

Murgatroyd said she suffered her first miscarriage in 2020 in a Whole Foods bathroom. She said she felt “completely embarrassed” and “ultimately ashamed” at the time.

“I definitely wanted to keep my miscarriages a deep dark secret for the rest of my life,” Murgatroyd said.

“I’m somebody who prides herself on health wellness,” she said. “I exercise every single day. But as I came to realize, that doesn’t really go hand-in-hand with the reproductive system.”

Despite the stigma surrounding pregnancy loss and the shame many say they feel after experiencing one, miscarriages are not uncommon. A 2021 study in the peer-reviewed medical journal The Lancet found that an estimated 23 million miscarriages occur every year worldwide. “Psychological consequences” of pregnancy loss can include “increases in the risk of anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and suicide,” according to the study.

Murgatroyd told People that she has since been diagnosed with Polycystic ovary syndrome or PCOS — a common hormone abnormality that affects 6% to 12% of women of reproductive age in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The couple is now starting IVF, and Murgatroyd says she is in “a much happier place” because she finally “got answers.”

“For the first time in nearly two years, I feel excited,” she said.

The Bachelor family is about to get a little bigger because alumna Tia Booth is pregnant!

In a since-deleted Instagram post on Sunday, Father’s Day, Tia, 30, shared a slideshow of black-and-white photos — the first two of herself and fiancé Taylor Mock, 27, cradling her baby bump and the third a throwback photo of herself as a toddler with her late father.

“This has undoubtedly been my most challenging season thus far. I’ve never felt such overwhelming sadness and pure joy at the same time. It’s been difficult to be grateful for the good as if one of the most important people in my life is missing the celebration,” the Bachelor in Paradise star began.

“While I wish I could tell my dad all the good news in person, it brings me peace that he knows about it long before I do,” she continued. “Welcoming a new little life while mourning the loss of another proves that high emotions can exist simultaneously, and I have no doubt my dad had a hand in this.”

“Happy heavenly Father’s Day to the first man I ever loved and Happy soon-to-be Father’s Day to my forever,” she concluded.

On Monday, the reality star re-shared the post and explained in an Instagram Story that the social media app deleted her original post “with no warning.”

“I feel like I shared the biggest news of my life last night then said JK I take it back,” she joked. “Let’s see if it’ll stay up this time!”

Tia first appeared on season 22 of The Bachelor, competing for Arie Luyendyk Jr.‘s heart, before completing two stints on Bachelor in Paradise

Tia and Taylor went public with their romance in October 2021 after her most recent appearance on BiP.

Actor, director and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador Ben Stiller met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday’s World Refugee Day.

Stiller called Zelenskyy his “hero,” as he gave up a career in front of the camera for public service — and that was before he became the face of defiance amid the Russian invasion.

“You quit a great acting career for this,” Stiller said to the leader, to which the former comedian replied, “Not so great as yours,” getting a laugh from the Meet The Parents star.

“But what you’ve done and the way that you’ve rallied the country and for the world, it’s really inspiring,” Stiller told Zelenskyy, calling it a “great honor” to meet him.

Stiller is visiting Poland and Ukraine as an ambassador for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, and as such is calling for urgent global support and funding for millions of refugees worldwide.

He’s also scheduled to visit Irpin, the scene of heavy fighting early in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
