Jeremy Allen White had to learn to sing and play guitar to play Bruce Springsteen in the new biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, and of course by playing and meeting The Boss, he learned a lot about the man himself.

“I think what struck me most about Bruce is how sort of graceful and gentle he is. And his relationship to the world is still so, kind of, kind and pure,” White tells ABC News. The actor says he would “find it difficult to move with such grace” after so many decades as a beloved icon.

And now that filming is over, White says he misses getting to sing like Bruce.

“That was the way … I felt closest to Bruce, in Nashville at RCA recording his music,” he says. “There’s, like, such a preciousness to being in the studio, singing his words.”

A lot has been made of Springsteen and his manager, Jon Landau, being on the film’s set during shooting, and Jeremy Strong, who plays Landau, says it was something that really helped his performance.

“(Springsteen) is just someone who gives so much of himself every time,” Strong says. “So when you’re in the presence of someone who gives that much, the only thing that it actually does is it encourages you to give as much as you possibly can and really put everything on the line.”

And Springsteen being on set resulted in a very special moment for Strong. He says during downtime while filming scenes at the Power Station recording studio in New York, he was just sitting and listening to a Springsteen playlist when the rocker walked in.

“We just sat there talking for a while,” Strong says. “That’s a moment in time that I’ll take to my grave.”

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere hits theaters Friday.

Kevin O’Leary is making his opinions on the use of AI in Hollywood known.

The businessman and Shark Tank star, who makes his acting debut in the upcoming A24 film Marty Supreme, recently said on The Hill‘s World of Travel podcast that the production could have saved “millions of dollars” if AI had been used in the place of background actors.

“Almost every scene had as many as 150 extras. Now, those people have to stay awake for 18 hours, be completely dressed in the background. [They’re] not necessarily in the movie, but they’re necessary to be there moving around. And yet, it costs millions of dollars to do that,” O’Leary said. “Why couldn’t you simply put AI agents in their place? Because they’re not the main actors. They’re only in the story visually. [You could] save millions of dollars, so more movies could be made. The same director, instead of spending $90 million or whatever he spent, could’ve spent $35 million and made two movies.”

O’Leary then made an erroneous reference to the AI-generated character Tilly Norwood, which was created in 2025 by Xicoia. The character provoked controversy in Hollywood when it was reported that several talent agents were interested in signing it for representation. SAG-AFTRA issued a statement on Sept. 30 condemning the AI-generated character, saying it’s “jeopardizing performer livelihoods and devaluing human artistry.”

“I’d argue for the sake of the art, you should allow it in certain cases, and extra is a really good-use case because you can’t tell the difference. You just put 100 Norwell Tillies in there and you’re good,” O’Leary said on the podcast.

O’Leary plays the husband of Gwyneth Paltrow‘s character in Marty Supreme. The film stars Timothée Chalamet and releases in theaters on Christmas Day.

Billie Lourd is mourning her mother, Carrie Fisher.

Fisher died at age 60 in December 2016 following a heart attack. Lourd took to Instagram on Tuesday to pay tribute to her mother on what would have been Fisher’s 69th birthday. She shared a photo of herself, Fisher and her maternal grandmother, the late Debbie Reynolds, alongside a lengthy caption.

“My mom would’ve been 69 years old today. Which still feels shockingly young because this is the 9th birthday of hers I’ve ‘celebrated’ without her. It feels like she has been dead so long that she should be 100 at this point? It feels more okay for a 100 year old person to be dead? But not a 69 year old,” Lourd wrote.

Lourd then went on to express how Fisher never got to meet her grandchildren. Lourd shares two children — a 5-year-old son named Kingston Fisher Lourd Rydell and 3-year-old daughter named Jackson Joanne Lourd Rydell — with husband Austen Rydell.

“The other night my son asked me how she died – I told him that she didn’t take care of her body – telling him the truth without telling him the whole truth. ‘Oh but I take care of my body!’ Yes I replied, ‘Yes you do! And I do too and daddy does too!'” Lourd wrote. “Death isn’t looming at our doorsteps the way it always was for her. That’s a conversation for later years. He didn’t push me for more answers so we left it at that. But it broke my heart.”

While Lourd wrote about her grief, she also said she wanted Fisher’s birthday to “have some happy in it.”

“Especially for my kids. She was a brilliant magical human and I want them to know that,” Lourd wrote. “Grief is a weird soup of feelings and there are a lot of ingredients in it that are hard to swallow, but ultimately I think the soup has made me healthier – more cognizant of how short life is and more appreciative of all the happy in my life.”

The Settlers of Catan has forged a new alliance: the popular board game is being adapted into Netflix programming.

Asmodee, the company responsible for games like Ticket to Ride and Exploding Kittens, has partnered with Netflix to bring the world of Catan to the small screen via scripted and unscripted programming.

“Anyone who has played Catan knows [that] the intense strategy and negotiation at the core of the game has endless opportunities for some serious drama,” said Jinny Howe, head of scripted series, U.S. and Canada, for Netflix.

Created by Klaus Teuber in 1995, Settlers of Catan is a multiplayer board game in which players build settlements and cities on the island of Catan, collecting and trading resources while navigating new landscapes. The game has sold more than 45 million copies and been translated into more than 40 languages, according to a release. Under the new partnership, Netflix and Asmodee are turning the island into “an epic new storytelling universe.”

“Millions of people [have been] enjoying Catan since it was created, and for many it remains a gateway to modern board gaming,” Thomas Koegler, CEO of Asmodee, said in a news release. “It’s also a testament that board gaming is truly part of pop culture and a popular form of entertainment in everyone’s homes.”

Upcoming Settlers of Catan programming will join Netflix’s slate of game-to-screen stories, including ArcaneCastlevania, the upcoming Assassin’s Creed series and the Gears of War film.

Sorry, Eddie Munson superfans.

Stranger Things co-creators Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer have confirmed that the fan-favorite character, who was introduced and died in season 4 of the popular sci-fi series, will not appear in the fifth and final season of the show.

Joseph Quinn portrayed the heavy metal rocker and leader of the Hellfire Club. His performance in the fourth season of Stranger Things set his career off, and landed him high-profile projects like The Fantastic Four: First Steps and the upcoming Sam Mendes Beatles films.

There were rumors that Quinn’s time as Munson wasn’t quite over, but the Duffers put them to rest in a recent interview with Empire.

“I love that Joe Quinn is toying with people! But no, he’s dead,” Matt Duffer said. “Joe is so busy anyway, that everyone should know he’s not coming back. He’s shot like five movies since! When the hell has he got time to come and shoot Stranger Things? No, sadly, RIP. He’s fully under that ground.”

The first volume of the three-part drop of Stranger Things season 5 releases on Nov. 26. Volume II releases on Dec. 25, while the series finale debuts on Dec. 31.
