The odds were ever in his favor.

Lionsgate has announced that Devon Singletary is the fan selected to appear in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.

Back in May, Lionsgate announced an open casting call for fans of the dystopian young adult franchise to act out their favorite moment, sing their favorite song or improv a scene for the chance to be selected to appear in the upcoming sixth film in The Hunger Games franchise.

Singletary will play the character Blair, a close friend of Haymitch Abernathy and Burdock Everdeen, who is Katniss Everdeen’s father.

The Florida-based actor’s reaction to being selected was captured in a video shared to the official The Hunger Games Instagram account on Friday.

“I’m blown away,” Singletary said. “I’m really just speechless. I’m super excited.”

The video also shows off Singletary’s first day on set.

“I love the Sunrise on the Reaping book,” he said. “Being selected into The Hunger Games is a great honor.”

Joseph Zada leads the film’s star-studded ensemble cast that includes Whitney Peak, Mckenna Grace, Jesse Plemons, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke, Ralph Fiennes, Elle Fanning, Glenn Close, Billy Porter and Kieran Culkin.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is based on Suzanne Collins‘ novel of the same name. It revisits the world of Panem almost 25 years before the events of the original book and film saga. Francis Lawrence is directing the film from a screenplay by Billy Ray.

The novel begins on the morning of the 50th annual Hunger Games, when Haymitch Abernathy is chosen to compete in the deadly arena. Haymitch eventually wins the games, as he goes on to be the mentor for Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping arrives in theaters on Nov. 20, 2026.

Paul Schrader is making his thoughts on the use of AI in Hollywood known.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the 79-year-old filmmaker said he is ready to embrace using artificial intelligence to make movies.

Schrader said that in his opinion, movies are “going to be more and more AI,” and that he thinks “we’re only two years away from the first AI feature.”

He continued, “I was just on the phone with someone today about a script I had, and I said, ‘You know, this would be a perfect script to do all AI.’”

The director and Taxi Driver writer told the outlet he believes AI is “just a tool” filmmakers will be able to use.

“When you’re an author, you have to describe someone’s reaction. You use a code — you use a code of words, a certain number of letters, and so forth, and you express their facial reaction,” Schrader said. “An actor has their own code. Well, now you’re a pixelator, and you can create the face, and you can create the emotion on the face, and you can sculpt it the same way an author sculpts the reaction in a novel or a story.”

Schrader also said AI could be used in the place of journalists who write film reviews.

“AI does better coverage than the average coverage. And AI doesn’t have to favor anybody,” Schrader said. “Often, when you’re doing coverage, you get a hint that the person who’s paying you wants you to like this. You can’t give that information to AI.”

What, like it’s hard?

Kim Kardashian has revealed an update on her ambitions of being a qualified lawyer. In an interview on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, the reality TV star said that she will receive the results of her bar exam within the next two weeks.

“I will be qualified in two weeks. I hope to practice law. Maybe in 10 years, I think I’ll give up being Kim K and be a trial lawyer. That’s what I really want,” Kardashian said.

Kardashian appeared on the talk show to promote season 1 of her upcoming Hulu series All’s Fair. She spoke on what her hopes are for the future of her entertainment career.

“I have a few projects coming up — I film my first movie in January, and we are hoping for a season 2 of All’s Fair,” Kardashian said. “I always want to be growing, curious and evolving, and I want to see wherever that takes me.”

While Kardashian never attended college, she started an apprenticeship at a law firm in San Francisco, California, in 2018. She then took the First-Year Law Student’s Examination, also known as the “baby bar,” in 2021. This March she took the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE), which is a mandatory test one must complete to practice law in California.

Kardashian was asked by Norton how she juggles all of her projects — from her acting roles, to her law aspirations, and her business empire. She said there was a learning curve at first.

“I’ve learned you can. It was mentally challenging having to do it all, but I loved it,” Kardashian said.

Netflix is ready to make the Victorious spinoff shine.

The streamer has picked up the upcoming series Hollywood Arts, starring Daniella Monet, who will reprise her Victorious role of Trina Vega. The sequel show was first developed at Nickelodeon and has now been licensed to Netflix.

Hollywood Arts will span 26 episodes and debut on Netflix in 2026, followed by releases on Nickelodeon and Paramount+.

The show will follow Trina, who is now a struggling actress, as she returns to her former high school, Hollywood Arts, as an unqualified substitute teacher. She quickly finds herself “both clashing with and unexpectedly inspiring a new generation of ambitious and talented students as they learn to find their true path at Hollywood’s most elite performing arts school,” according to an official logline.

Also starring in Hollywood Arts are Alyssa Miles, Emmy Liu-Wang, Peyton Jackson, Erika Swayze and Martin Kamm. Drake and Josh fan-favorite Yvette Nicole Brown will guest star in the series.

In addition to starring, Monet will executive produce Hollywood Arts.

“Coming back as Trina alongside such a dynamic, powerful cast of newcomers is something I feel very lucky and grateful to do. Victorious was in a lot of ways life changing for all of us, our cast is forever bonded by that experience, and to think that I have an opportunity to steward anything close to that is a feeling I can’t begin to describe,” Monet said in a press release. “As an actress, producer, and mom, I am so eager to create something we can all be proud to share with the world.”

All episodes of Victorious are available to watch on Netflix in the U.S. They have accumulated over 45 million views on that streaming platform alone.

Jon M. Chu is ready to return to Crazy Rich Asians.

The director, who helmed the 2018 film based on Kevin Kwan‘s bestselling book, recently gave Esquire an update on the upcoming HBO Max series set in the same universe as his film.

“It’s a real thing,” Chu said. “We have scripts, and we’re waiting to be officially ready to go.”

Chu also gave an explanation as to what fans of the story can expect from the new show.

“It’s hard to do the continuation of the books, because our characters changed so much in the first movie. It’s so different [from] the books, actually, even though it feels like it’s the same. So you couldn’t go one-to-one. But we can use a lot of inspiration from the book to dig out more story from it,” Chu said.

While none of the cast from the original film have been confirmed to reprise their roles in the series yet, Chu says he has no doubt “our cast will be there” when it is time for the show to go into production.

Adele Lim, who wrote the 2018 film, will be the showrunner and executive produce the series. Chu serves as an executive producer on the project.

Ethan Hawke, Andrew Scott on their new Richard Linklater film ‘Blue Moon’

Ethan Hawke reunites with Richard Linklater in their latest collaboration, Blue Moon.

The film finds Hawke playing lyricist Lorenz Hart in a story that takes place over the course of one night. Hart’s former artistic partner, Richard Rogers, has just opened the classic musical Oklahoma! on Broadway. Hart faces the future of his professional life, as well as the unraveling of his personal one, in this new film, which Hawke says required something different from him.

“This movie falls very much in what I would call, like, a Richard Linklater film. This is what he does. It’s real time, it’s real people. It’s emotional. It’s a hangout movie. But what he was asking of me in this collaboration was very different,” Hawke told ABC Audio.

The actor believes Linklater is the only director who would have cast him as Hart. “I often told him, ‘You sure you don’t want to cast somebody else?'” Hawke said.

Hawke wanted to take on the challenge, but wasn’t confident he could pull it off.

“I was desperate to do it, but it was just outside of my normal comfort zone,” Hawke said. “We’d known each other so long that he was the right person to push me. He knew how much I loved this man, how much I loved this character and how badly I wanted to do it, and he knew it was in me. But I don’t think anybody else would have even had the idea.”

Andrew Scott takes on the role of Rogers. He says to embody the celebrated artist, he thought about what it would be like to portray an artistic genius right before they finally reach success.

“Some of the great geniuses that I’ve known — and there aren’t many — but they’re as nervous, sometimes even more neurotic and deep feeling, as any other human being.”

Kim Kardashian says she was diagnosed with an aneurysm

Kim Kardashian revealed that she was diagnosed with an aneurysm in a preview clip from the newest season of The Kardashians.

The clip aired during the show’s season 7 premiere on Thursday and teased upcoming episodes.

“There’s, like, a little aneurysm,” Kim says in the clip.

Her sister Khloe Kardashian appears to react to the news, saying, “Woah.”

The following shots show what appears to be a brain scan followed by footage of Kim inside an MRI machine.

In a voice-over, the All’s Fair star can be heard discussing her condition, saying, “They’re, like, just stress.”

The clips that follow show Kim discussing her family dynamic, including the four children she shares with ex-husband Ye.

ABC News has reached out to Hulu and a rep for Kim Kardashian for more information on her diagnosis.

An aneurysm is a bulge in the wall of an artery, according to the National Institutes of Health. Arteries carry blood to the heart and other parts of the body to supply oxygen.

If an aneurysm grows large, it can rupture and cause dangerous bleeding, stroke or even death.

Imaging testing is used to diagnose aneurysms. Treatment and surveillance processes vary based on the size, rate of change, symptoms and location of the aneurysm.

It is unclear if stress can directly cause aneurysms, however, the American Heart Association states that stress can be linked to cardiovascular disease through both direct physiological effects and indirect behavioral changes.

Chronic stress may lead to the release of hormones that subsequently increase your blood pressure, and elevated blood pressure is a key contributor to increased risk of heart attack and stroke.

The Brain Aneurysm Foundation estimates that 1 in 50 people in the U.S. have an unruptured brain aneurysm, though the annual rate of rupture is estimated between eight and 10 ruptures per 100,000 people.

There are almost 500,000 deaths worldwide each year caused by brain aneurysms, and half of those victims are younger than 50.
