The return of Beavis and Butt-Head on Paramount+ will come with remastered version of 200 original shows from the one-time MTV phenomenon.

However, for B&B fans, some even better news: the videos may be back.

DVD releases of the animated hit deleted the show’s bread and butter, the two teenaged dopes making fun of music videos, because of legal clearance issues with the videos.

Beavis and Butt-Head creator Mike Judge tells Collider he missed them, too. “[A] lot of the stuff I’m most proud of is the commentary on the music videos,” he says.

“At the start of it, I thought, ‘Oh, people watch MTV because they want to watch the videos. They’re not going to want these guys talking over the whole thing.’ Which I was wrong about.”

Judge adds of the remastered shows, “… I’m hearing different things. Apparently … they might be able to get it so they’ll just play the way they played originally with all the videos in them. Which is kind of what the rhythm of it was, and what I liked about it. So, I’m hoping to get that.”

Evidently, because Paramount+ and MTV share a parent company in Paramount Media Networks, the legal issues with the videos are more easily ironed out.

The Office Space and Idiocracy veteran adds of the new shows, which kick off August 4, “They watch YouTube videos and TikTok videos now, which has been a lot of fun to do.”

He adds, “We have episodes where they’re middle-aged. Butt-Head is just this big old useless guy. They’re on all kinds of government assistance. They’re a burden on society, but it’s been very fun to do. And the old Beavis and Butt-Head watch music videos, too.”

In an ongoing live loop of the teaser, Universal Pictures revealed on Thursday the first footage of Christopher Nolan‘s star-studded historical drama Oppenheimer.

Frequent Nolan player Cillian Murphy plays J. Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb.

As an atomic fire swirls through the frame, a voice-over says, “The force from which the sun gets its power has been loosed.”

A countdown timer spins at the bottom of the frame, and we see Oppenheimer staring out a window, crisply putting on his hat.

“He gave them the power to destroy themselves,” another man warns in the voice-over. “It made him the most powerful man who ever lived.”

As the timer runs down to zero, a title card reads: “The world forever changes,” and we see Murphy in full for the first time, ignoring press photographers tailing him down a hallway.

“The man who moved the earth,” the voice-over concludes.

Oppenheimer, which also stars Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Matthew Modine, Jack Quaid, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, and Emily Blunt, was based on the Pulitzer-winning 2005 book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer.

The film debuts in theaters September 21, 2023.

Cannavale and de Armas — Netflix

In the new full trailer to Blonde, the Marilyn Monroe biopic starring Ana de Armas, we see the screen legend grappling with her onscreen persona and how it conflicts with her troubled “real” life.

“How did you get your start…in movies?” Bobby Cannavale‘s character asks Marilyn. “I guess I was discovered,” she replies. “I know you’re supposed to get used to it, but I just can’t.”

According to IMDB, Cannavale is playing “The Ex-Athlete”; In real life, of course, Monroe was married to baseball legend Joe DiMaggio.

She adds, “I’ve played Marilyn Monroe, Marilyn Monroe, Marilyn Monroe. I can’t face doing another scene with Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn doesn’t exist.”

“When I come out of my dressing room, I’m Norma Jean,” Marilyn protests, referring to her real name.

The trailer juxtaposes the star’s glamorous celebrity life with a private life that’s in shambles: Monroe dealt with invasive paparazzi and suffered from mental illness and the after-effects of an abusive childhood.

“Watched by all. Seen by none,” a title card sums up the star — and the person behind the facade.

Based on the novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates and also starring Oscar winner Adrien Brody and Emmy winner Julianne Nicholson, Blonde debuts September 28 on Netflix.

Weird, the sort-of biopic about Grammy-winning parodist “Weird” Al Yankovic, will debut on Roku November 4. Al, himself, tweeted the news with a “Mark your calendars…” caption and a photo of the movie poster.

Daniel Radcliffe is shown from the back, dressed in full Al costume, an accordion slung under his right arm as he looks down a California street, the Hollywood sign in the distance.

The back of his red denim jacket is emblazoned with the legend, “Daniel Radcliffe is WEIRD, the Al Yankovic Story”; “Weird” is written in all caps and adorned with rhinestones.

As previously reported, the film also stars Emmy-nominated Westworld star Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna, who Al parodied with his hit “Like A Surgeon.”

The streaming service teases that the movie explores “every facet of Yankovic’s life, from his meteoric rise to fame with early hits like ‘Eat It’ and ‘Like a Surgeon’ to his torrid celebrity love affairs and famously depraved lifestyle.”

Sydney Sweeney is keeping it real when it comes to finances and being in the entertainment industry.

Despite being cast in some of the hottest shows on television right now, like HBO Max’s Euphoria and The White Lotus, and an upcoming role in Marvel’s Madame Web, the 24-year-old actress tells The Hollywood Reporter that she can’t afford to take time off just yet.

“If I wanted to take a six-month break, I don’t have income to cover that. I don’t have someone supporting me,” Sweeney confessed.

“They don’t pay actors like they used to, and with streamers, you no longer get residuals,” she explained. “The established stars still get paid, but I have to give five percent to my lawyer, ten percent to my agents, tree percent or something like that to my business manager. I have to pay my publicist every month and that’s more than my mortgage.”

Sweeney added that not earning enough to take some time away from her craft is why she’s taken on some brand deals.

“If I just acted, I wouldn’t be able to afford my life in LA,” the star adds. “I take deals because I have to.”

“The Resort” is a serious mystery that’s also a lot of fun

David Yeh/Peacock

It’s time to check in to The Resort!

Peacock’s new mystery series The Resort starts streaming today, starring William Jackson Harper and Cristin Milioti as a couple celebrating their anniversary at a fancy Yucatan Peninsula resort, but instead of hitting the beach with mai tais, they’re investigating a possible murder. It’s serious, but there’s also some comedy, and Milioti tells ABC Audio she and Harper were given a lot of freedom to explore this couple who has hit a stale point in their 10-year marriage.

“We would try takes and complete silence. We would throw all the lines away. We would get in a mini fight. We would…almost get to the fight and then back off,” she recalls. “And like it just was so much fun to explore that…that’s the type of stuff as an actor where it’s like the dream.”

The show is from Palm Springs writer Andy Siara, which also starred Milioti, and she says they don’t leave you in too much suspense. Answers will be coming, “but they’re not going to be the answers that you think. Better tune in!”

“I think Andy has written something that is, like, very unexpected,” she continues. “And even the answers that you get…you just don’t see them coming, but they make sense and I find them to be very satisfying. But it’s like what you would least expect.”

Harper says he also loves a good mystery, but it has to be really good.

“Like a really good mystery I’m just like, yo, I need to go see what’s going on,” he explains. “But then like other, you know, other stuff, it’s just like, okay, well, either we’re going to have a twist or I called it. And so, you know, I kind of I do enjoy it.”

Sylvester Stallone is a retired superhero in trailer to ‘Samaritan’

“I’m not as strong as I used to be,” Sylvester Stallone tells a young fan in the trailer to his new action movie Samaritan.

The project has the 76-year-old Rocky series star playing a retired superhero looking to put his past behind him, even though he’s still cleaning up the streets … as a garbage man.

However, a chance meeting with a kid — and a whupping of his bullies — leads the young man to realize that the lowly garbageman is actually The Samaritan, the world’s greatest hero who was thought to have been killed in action 25 years prior.

Stallone’s character tries to deny it, of course, until he gets rammed by a car and suffers no damage.

However, his reluctant return to superheroism comes just as crime has reached an apex in the city. “I stopped caring a long time ago,” he says, but sure enough, he decides to suit back up.

Samaritan hits Amazon Prime on August 26.
